Who called from this number

I also get these calls and on the caller id its said it was from 402-491-2800 anf the name it gave was CONVERGYS CORP. Area Code 402 is California. Iam sure it is BS call.

I have received several calls from this number.

They claimed to be from Citibank and calling about an email they had supposedly sent me.

Something struck me as funny so I called Citibank directly.

They said this is NOT their number and they do not have any calls going out on such an issue.

DO  NOT TRUST this number or anyone calling from it for any reason!

This number is the callerid number for a Marketing Research Company that is part of Convergys Corporation.  The company specializes in Point of Sale Customer Service Evaluation.  Companies that you interact with as a customer use the opinions you provide in these surveys in order to improve customer service.  There is NEVER an attempt to sell anything or obtain personal information.  Research Companies are also exempt from the telemarketing do not call list, which makes sense since they are not telemarketers.  If you call the number back, the VM explains why you may have been called.  Ther are strict calling hours that need to be adhered to, and there are legitimate professional organizations to which Convergys Research belongs including AMA, MRA, CASRO, MMRA, etc.

Don't answer random survey questions people. I once worked for a survey company for a very short time. we did not call to sell anything but our coworkers in another department did... We would survey you with what appeared to be random questions. Think about the questions. Are they asking questions about your car of choice? Your credit card preference, or if u are married... They are prescreening your credit so the other department can call to sell something to you. They may not directly ask u what car u drive or credit card u use... It will be worded to get u talking and you will give them clues ... Be careful!

I, too, received a call from this number and no message was left.  I'm going to report them to the Attorney General of Missouri.  We have a strict policy.

I've been getting calls from this number 402-491-2800. It says Convergys Corp. I am sure it is BS. I'm also on the do not call list. They've called twice so far. Both times at exactly 5:52pm. I don't answer and they don't leave a message. Keep calling at 5:52pm. I don't care. I'll never pick up.

Just got a call from this same number (402) 491-2800. Didn't pick it up and no one left a message. I'm also on the do not call list, however, lately I receive every other day calls from different unknown numbers, which are always from different area code and state. Seams as possible fraud.

Who is this person, robo calling?  I am on the donot call list.

This number showed up on my cell around 6:30 last night. No idea who it was...and I don't plan on calling back after seeing the comments here.

Like others here, I called the 402 area code # and listened to the recording. The name of the company is 'Convergys' and if you listen to the full message, they provide the opportunity for you to leave a message if you want your number to be removed from their call list. I did just that, but also added that the number they called is already on the 'Do Not Call Registry' and if they don't want to get fined the hefty fine, they will promptly remove my #. I added the # to my contacts as a survey/marketing DONOTCALL# company.

I just posted my comment.  If you actually call them (after 'reasonable'  hours...) and listen to their entire greeting, they do give you the opportunity to leave a message stating that you want your number removed from their 'call' list and leaving the DO NOT CALL number. Did you leave such a message and they are still bothering you? If so, while there are certain groups that are excluded from having to adhere to the DO NOT CALL rules, I don't think survey/marketing groups are one of those. You can report them to the FCC (I think that's the right group; maybe google 'do no call list' first to make sure you're reporting them to the right place) and per call to a number that is registered on the DO NOT CALL list...a company gets fined something like $11 grand. 2 calls = $22 grand...and it keeps adding up. I've only had to report one company because most of them KNOW these huge penalties but continue to call thinking we are all dumb. Each time I've spoken to someone who has inappropriately called me and I told them that their company would get fined (what $ number is the fine) since I would be reporting them as soon as I hang up...the caller typically apologizes and says they have just removed my number...depending on my mood...I tell them I'm reporting them regardless because it is part of their business to know these rules and their call shows total disregard to government regulatory agencies. Give it a shot, huh? Take back the power!

I got a call today from the same person (female lazy slow voice) claiming to be from Citibank inquiring about an email I received .. I told them I hadn't received an email and she said "oh we must have the wrong information.. Sorry bye".  WEIRD!!!

Missed call, have friends in that area code, called back.
Recording rapidly says ____ marketing, not a sales call. I hung up.

Started getting these darn calls again.  I refuse to answer these calls, but it is still none the less irritating!  I am so  sick of these calls...never a message, and even if it gets answered by mistake...as in waiting for an IMPORTANT call...they never answer....no one there.  I can't believe with all of our technology, in the year 2013,we can't put a stop to this!  I would take my phone off the hook, or turn it off at night...but between my husband and I, and my parents...we all have health problems, and  CAN not be without a way to communicate...and don't tell me to use a cell phone...we do, but these sob's even call on those!  I swear, one of these days, I am going to throw the darn phones against the wall, or out the window!  I am sick of these calls, and these and others call after 9:00pm...which really makes me wild!  PLEASE, SOMEONE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS PROBLEM!!!!!!!!
