I receive these calls at least twice a day and it is maddening.  This # is Market Probe and I called their office at 416-233-1555 and spoke with Rachel who assured me that my number will be removed.  Now I just have to wait and see.

This #416-233-0047 called my home and cell number in the past 3 weeks, usually later in the day early evening & leaves no message.  Finally, tried calling this number back and line was busy for 1 hr., then finally phone ringing, but no answer.  

I did also answer the phone during this 3 week period & it was an RBC caller, but I was in a hurry and quickly they said they would call back another time; not the typical sounding RBC representative.  I'll ask for her # next time; could be connected; not sure.  Th

This number keeps calling purportedly to conduct a "survey" but will not leave any details when asked what it is about.

Received a call from 416-233-0047 at 6:53 pm Alberta time.   There was someone at the other end but they would not speak.   I heard music playihng in the background.   I was on the phone for aprox: 1 minute trying to get them to say something.   As soon as I mentioned that this telephone call was being recorded they hung up.

How do you know that ?   I too received a call from that number tonight with some music in the background but no answer.   I put a post on here also among the many others here.   I logged a formal complaint with the National Do Not Call List.   I also provided them with this website's adress.
Anyway, can you let us know how you found out who owns this telephone number ?   Thank you.

I just had a phone call from 416-233-0047 and tried calling them back and received a busy signal. I then called Market Probe Canada and they told me that they're a marketing firm that do business with several firms but would not identify which ones. I advised them that I DID NOT WANT THEM TO CALL MY NUMBER ANY MORE. This is not the first time they've called. We had a call about a month ago for my Mother and this time they called for my husband who is not even listed on the phone. The person that called both times would not identify themselves and would not leave a message and when you start to ask any information they apologise and then hangup.
To me any trust worthy company whould at least identify themselves or at lease leave a message.

It is rbc client satisfaction survey. It's not a fraud I just talked to them. I was annoyed they kept calling and hanging up early morning and throughout the day. It's a computer calling and screws up sometimes he said. Anyways just wanted to share the info.

I have recieved a few calls from this # and did not recogize it so i did not answer. I prefer not to get them

Just got a call from this number....didn't know that it was still happening.  Didn't even refer to themselves as reps from RBC.
Just asked for my husband, I said he wasn't available and she hung up immediately.  Didn't even bother say thank you /goodbye.

Sounds like a prank call to me.

RBC reps are not that rude and "secretive"

I had a call from this number, did not answer it and there is no message from this call. I do not know who is that, since nobody is picking up and no voicemail available.

Just got a call from this number, no voicemail was left...I am with RBC. But usually when I get calls from RBC regarding anything it comes from a 1800/888/866 number.

Do not who this person is but the number has called twice this week once on the 24th and then again today. Both calls in between 5:30 to 6 p.m. I did not answer. I see there are lots of reports on this number. These people should be shut down.

Get calls from these numbers all the time.  Last time my wife and I were watching tv and afetr I said hello they wanted to talk to her and when I asked why she said for an important survey.  There was a pause on the phone as I composewd myself and let out the loudest belch I could muster (roflol) both my wife and I for 2 minutes solid tears streaming down our faces from the laughter then I quickly clicked the phone.  Figured they wouldn't call back

I used to be a market researcher myself so I'm going to clear a few things up.

FIrst, I just got this call myself.

Anyways. 1. the reason you hear silence is because it's an auto dialer calling so it takes a few moments sometimes for the person to get the connection to your call..it's annoying but effective.

2. Since it's an RBC study they NEED to speak to the person who was at the branch.  No one else

3. Since it's outbound they have no number they can be reached at, however they should ask when would be a more convenient time to call back.

4. If they don't, the set it for a Call back in which case if you havent specified a time, it's automatically set for 24 hours.

5. The surveyor is not allowed to tell you any information about the study prior to you accepting because it can possibly change your answers.

6. They need to follow their computer screen verbatim.  Anything they say is on their screen in front of them, unless you ask a question, they have designated responses depending on your inquiry.

7. As a few have said.  Market researchers are exempt from the DNC list because they are not selling anything and not collecting personal information.  The most they will ever ask at the end of a survey is if you make between certain ranges of income for the year.  Age and gender also because of the amount of each demographic they need.

8. They are not trying to call you personally.  The auto dialer sends a call their way.  Also.. the reason sometimes they hang up, is since the auto dialer delays calls by a few seconds, if they do not hear someone speaking within the first few seconds they are told to hang up and set it as an answering machine because they are not allowed to leave messages.

I have been receiving calls from this number for the last two days. The first time I didn't answer. The second time I did, and it was a girl on the other side. She asked for me by my full name, and then hung up. Considering my phone is a cell phone, how the hell did this person get my number. I called back the number, and at first I got the busy signal, then I got ringing, but no answer!!! Any body have any idea who this person is?
