This number called my number 3 times within a 2 hour period, but I didn't pick up. Only people who want to trick you into giving up your personal information would be so persistent. And if it is that important that they need to call you 3 times, they would have left a message and asked you to call back. I have a feeling it must be some kind of scam. Be careful!

i received a call from this number around 8pm also, from reading these posts, im glad it was my mom that picked up the phone. when i got to the phone, the person had hung up. she said it was a man. and when i tried to call back, the number was first unanswered, and then busy. i find it odd because no one calls my house looking for me. be wary of anyone asking for any personal information.

Got a call from this number at 9 am in the morning. Did not leave a message.

I am on the National do not call list and they still call.  The male caller knew my name and unlisted number.  When I asked who was calling, he said it was about a market survey.  When I asked what the survey was about, he sighed and hung up.  I called back and no answer.  Called a few minutes later and the line was busy.  I have filed a complaint with CRTC.  (Just google National Do not call list and follow the links to file a complaint).  Everyone should complain as they are relentless.

Called and i answered. They hung up. I called back and it rang. No answer.

Got a call a few minutes ago, 10:15 a.m. Ontario time, they asked for my husband by his first name only, and I said he wasn't here.  No message she said and hung up.  Read the posts about RBC, but he doesn't do the banking.  He's not been inside of a bank in 5 years.  I do it all.  Strange.

416-233-0047 calls me daily for 2 weeks now.  I have caller ID and screened it.  They do dot leave a message.  I live in Vancouver.

I got a call from this number yesterday afternoon and he asked do you use English much then hung up

They called. left no message
Someone stated they are a market research company paid by the RBC
but I dont think so.......

So I blocked them from my cell phone

Have been receiving calls from this number every evening around 6 PM, Newfoundland time. Only once (last night) did I pick up the phone. The female caller asked to speak to me by name, which really miffed me as I have a fu¢king UNLISTED number and an old-fashioned LAND LINE!!!

I have picked up the number 416 233 0047 and it was a lady, and when I picked up I didnt say hello, I says: police 51 division, lady says: oh so sorry this a survey have a good day

I keep getting phone calls from this number 416-233-0047 I never answer it but its getting pretty [***] annoying. After reading all these comments about the same number I'm going to continue not to answer it

Just got a call from this number. did not answer and was not left a message either

I got a call from this number around 11:30 AM Toronto time.  I didn't recognize the number and figured it was telemarketers, so I didn't answer.   No message was left for me.   I after reading this thread I decided to try calling them back.  I dialed the number and let it ring and ring and ring for minutes until I got the "fast error beep", then hung up.   I immediately tried calling back and the line was busy.  It has been busy for a few minutes now.    I hope I annoyed and scared the hell out of them.

Recently I spoke with RBC Security on the phone (I dialed the number on the back of my client card) because I received an automated message on my answering machine informing me that my client card was used at a location being investigated for fraud and that I should immediately change my PIN.  

I find it interesting that people in this thread that answered the phone to 416-233-0047 are being told that RBC is doing a survey and asking if they have been at a branch lately.  Don't you think RBC's computers would already know?    If you say yes, that tells the fraudsters that you have changed your PIN by now.  If you say no, they will probably steal money from your account.

I just got the same phone call. from 416-233-0047 but i missed the call.

After reading all those comments, i come to realize it might be a survey company. It is no scam. I did work for a survey company and they do surveys on behalf of other companies.

I worked for a company situated in montreal and torronto and they do calls across canada. And no it is not the RBC number because it is not RBC doing the survey. They payed a company to do it for them. RBC don't do surveys on their own.

Hope this info helps everyone.

Also, if it is a legit company, they will never ask your card number or ANYTHING related to your direct account. If they do, then yes it is a scam. But if they don't and you're just not sure, ask them to prove you they are legitimate. They should be part of MRIA (which approves survey companies as legitimate) and they should give you the website at least. You could also ask who to call that can confirm.

You cannot call them back. That's the way it works. They can call you but they are not able to pick up the phone on the other side because it doesn't ring. So if you call and no one answer or it seems someone hung up, it's because there's just no one there able to pick up the call.

Got call from this number this morning. A woman voice on the other side, want to speak to my friend. I told her he is not in. She then hang up. I called the number and the line is always busy.
