I got the same email. What a scam. Don't give him the address, etc. Once they get their stuff in you house you have to evict. During that time they can trash you house. Don't give him any bank account information either. Who rents a house without talking to you and seeing pic's? What a loser.

December-2011/January-2012.  We've received e-mails from Dr. Marvin Slotte on the same scam.  The e-mails are verbatum to what is in previous posts on this site.  We received a check this morning.  We will be going to Craig's List, our local police and the Missouri Attorney General.  There's got to be a way to stop these scams.

I received this same letter on Jan. 25, 2012.  I appreciate having this site to stop this person in their tracks.  Carol

If this guy is sending checks through the US Post Office, it is mail fraud & should be reported to the post office fraud dept.  They will follow up. As busy as this guy is. They probably already have a file on him, but they could always use more info.

Sheesh. These Craigslist fakes are getting more and more annoying. I quickly learned a few years back and response with Humanitarian in it is a fake. I guess Dr. postings are too. It's frustrating for me to waste my time on these. I did reply but when my questions were not answered in Dr. Morgan's response I decided to search on the phone number. It's a good confirmation to come across this. I wish these people would get caught!

I just got this email almost a year later. Dr. Sage is at it again. I knew something didn't sound right. If your gut tells you something is fishy, then believe it. Anything too good to be true isn't.

Also beware, the phone number has changed slightly and so has his wife's name, which is now Melissa. New phone:  447024081502  Dr. Sage, WE ARE WISE TO YOU AND YOUR LITTLE GAME!

I'm glad I saw this. I had a feeling it was a scam. Plus it has very similar verbage to another email that I got on a different email for our property management company not too long ago - oddly enough, for another doctor. I reported that one. They were supposedly going to rent site unseen from Italy (the doc, his wife, and 2 kids - oh, he even sent me pics of their family so I would "realize that they were a good Christian family". I tried to pull information on him (gotta love the web). There was no information on him through the hospital he supposedly worked for. We have made it a rule to just tell anyone coming to us through Craigslist that we are unable to rent without meeting with them face to face, they have to see the place they want to rent, we have to have applications processed and backgrounds checked just like any other renter before any paperwork is even in the works. Usually once I tell someone that, I don't hear from them anymore. I just love the crap they love to put that they can send me a postal money order that will pay the security deposit, but they wanted the lease signed at that point so he would "be secured in a place". I don't see why Craigslist can't find a way to track these conartists so the real people trying to do right aren't getting mixed up in all this.

Last week I posted my place on craigslist and got the exact same message from a "Dr. James Alixon."  Thank God I googled him before I responded.  And thank you to all of those who take the time to write about such instances, otherwise I would have totally fell for it.

I just got the same in Arizona... it's crazy that Dr. Jacob Sage is making his rounds in here also.

I got a email about a job post on doing surveys. I replied to all the email and text that I got from a Rick Hudson for surveys @vexcorp. I receieved a check for a sum of 1600 told to do a western union servey on 10 locations and then wire the money back to a selwyn mathews in Brooklyn New York. Im upset that I could just scream but I googled vexcorp amd a site just like this one pops up with similiar complaints. For all those still looking for a job, just gotta keep looking cause this is a scam.

Posted a rental on Craig's List at 11 pm, Dr Marvin Slotte replied 2 hrs later with same song as everybody else.  Googled his name and found everybody else had questioned the validity of his information.  Thank you to all for sharing!

this guy has gotten me from what i have in my bank account using the name Dr.Marvin Slotte does anyone have an idea of what i can do in order to get my money back or to put in him jail.

I hate these scammers. Our local police department won't do anything about it because it's an international crime.
