I know someone who works for them. Its not a scam you do get your prize and you dont have to buy the product they tell you that on the phone. Remember when people from Avon (make up company) would knock door to door selling make up. So its not a scam you do recieve your prize.Who cares if you sit there through a demo you get a free gift at the end. The girls that phone are really nice and the sales people are all different so your going to get some high pressure ones or your going to get some straight forward people. I do not agree with the products being so expensive but IT DOES WORK!!! A scam is when something doesnt work or you dont recieve the prize you get the prize and the products work really well. SO HOW IS THIS A SCAM??? theres not credit card information taken its just you adress to get your prize out to you and your husband or wifes first names so when they come to your door they can ask for the RIGHT person.

I have a complaint about the conduct of this company in N.W.B.C.  They are very high pressure sales, I was told at first that demo would only take 1 1/2 hours, the Rep came here at 11:30 a.m.  I kept telling her I had a Doctor's appointment at 2:00 p.m.  She kept saying I am just about finished and kept going  on and on, was very friendly, impressionable but kept ignoring that fact I had a Doctor's appointment.  I had to call the Doctor's office to have them delay my appointment by one hour!  They took my old Filter Queen Vacume for a discount(which shows only that it is a discount, no record at all that I even gave it to them!)  The Rep lied and told me I had 30 days to pay for the machines(vacume and air purifier) and that I had 30 days to return them if I wasn't satisfied with them!  My boyfriend was present the whole demo time so he is my witness!  I did tell Rep that it would be paid for in 10 days, then a family crisis came up which was a matter of life and death!  Another Rep told me when I called about payment that I had 30 days to pay!  I told him it would be definately be paid within the 30 days!  In total I have had to communicate with 5 or 6 different reps ...

all these Reps told me a different story, I said I wanted to speak to the Manager, then switchboard told me they had two!  I informed them I just wanted to talk to ONE  person, the origional Rep we first delt with, here in my home!  Phone calls back and forth from all these reps!  It was harrassment, confusing and made me very angry and upset with this company and how it conducts business!  I guaranteed that the amount would be paid in 30 days by Bank Draft, they told me I said cheque, they said no, I said Bank Draft I asked one of the so called managers if he knew the difference between a bank draft and a cheque!  He said to us, they are all the same!  I worked as a Supervisor in a credit union for many years so I told him the difference!  They were extremely snoopy and tried to be overbearing!  Then on Friday, I received a threatening letter from Lend Care, their finance company, (who charges 29 1/2% Interest) and if I didn't pay for both machines by Apr. 24/2011, I would be charged with N.S.F. fees, other misc. charges!  They will not give me back my old Filter Queen, or the deposit I made and take back their machines either!  I checked on Google to see what info they had on this company, called their U.S. office to put in complaint to their C.E.O!  They gave me the run around and said they would put me through to Customer Service, I left a message for them to call me back regarding this issue and the way their employees conduct business!  I won't hold my breath waiting for the call, as I doubt I will hear back from them!  What do I do now?  Forced to pay for machines that I don't want and then have to keep dealing with them for parts, filters, etc!  If anyone can give me any advise regarding this upsetting issue, I would greatly appreciate it!  I have also threatened them with legal action, the Manager said go ahead and good luck!  I would not reccomend anyone buy anything from this company because of the way they pressure you to buy their product, the lies they tell you, how they pass the buck to all these sales reps and then threaten you with a nasty letter and phone calls galore!  I called about who I should be paying, they changed the rules and told me I was now dealing with their finance company from now on!  I called the origional sales rep regarding this and she wouldn't return my calls!  I also had one of the so-called Managers hand up the phone in my ear!!  That is no way to conduct business, their business practices are immoral, unethical and dishonest!! :(  I do like the vacume except that the power cord is way to thin and gets stuck in the power head if vacumed over! )  The  power cord does not roll up inside the machine and the attatchment used for getting into small places could be easily ripped right off the canister when unwinding the cord manually!  It happened to my other Filter Queen vacume when someone was using it to clean my home!  The vacumes have an attached tool holder which sits on top of the canister, it is made of weaker plastic than my old one, the vacume hose is not made as well either!  This comany and their employees are a bunch of crooks!  Oh, I did get a gift from them, a car cleaning kit, which they said I won in a weekly draw(which I wasn't told about) just so they had a way to get their foot in the door and what a sob story they tell you to get you to buy the machine!  They have all crossed the line as far as we are ,but they will still conduct business the same way for years to come!  SO BEWARE FRIENDS, DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS COMPANY!  Wish me luck in any further dealing I have with them, I am going to need all the help I can get!  I am so happy they have this info on Google and a place where people can type their complaints!  The best advertising you can get is by word of mouth, it travels faster than wildfire!  So please pass this info here, to other people to warn them and not get taken advantage of like I did!  I am also a physically disabled person and will be for the rest of my life!  It was the first time I ever let a sales person in my home and it  will be the last time too!!  I learned my lesson the hard way!

I work as one of the much-maligned demo guys for Health-Tek California.
We are all instructed to ALWAYS ask for the lady of the house, and NEVER for the husband.

The reason: research all over has shown that the woman spends more time in the house, has a much larger say in household expenditures, and is much more concerned about air quality in the home because of children, time in the kitchen, cleaning duties, etc.

It's unfortunate that so many have had unpleasant experiences with "pushy" reps, but in an organization as large as us, this is bound to happen.

If you EVER get a bad feeling about a sales rep, a demo person, a surveyor, or anyone else you don't know, you have the ultimate answer: don't let them in.

As a demo rep for Health-Tek California, I can tell you that we go to (70%) warm calls where people have shown an interest.
Once there, we demo the unit, hand out some collateral, try to get contact information for sales to follow up on, and try to get an intro to a (female) friend, in return for an extra $50 gift card.

After we leave for our next appointment, they will receive a call from Sales; my job ends after I turn the info to Sales, and don't have personal knowledge of what happens from there.

"There's much more negative responses than positive, which can only mean one thing"

The only thing it mean is that people don't usually cry about a good thing, do they?
Health-Tek has been in business for 80 years, has participated in more than a 100,000 sales transactions, and the vast majority of our customers are well-satisfied.

In any sales field, there will always be folk who will complain that they were pressured, that they were lied to, that they didn't REALLY want it in the first place.

Unless you're feeble, dim-witted, or illiterate, you all knowingly signed a sales contract that told you precisely how much your air cleaner system or vacuum would cost.

No way to prove it, but I suspect that most of the complainers on here either didn't listen to what the sales rep told them, either in person or on the phone, or just ignored the caveats that we all know to be true:
Never buy what you can't afford.
Never deal with someone that makes you uneasy for any reason.
If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is (although I've given away 100's of $50 gift cards, vacations, Wii systems, and car care kits).
A free gift is just that, and nothing's free - the gift is a way of getting your attention long enough to get your info so a salesperson can contact you.

These people also phoned me a while ago to do a survey, and called tonight to tell me I won a prize and would be entered in a draw.  They wanted to drop off my prize, car kit, 3 days hotel or a slap chop.  I was evasive on my address and ahortly after I got off the phone it started ringing again, non stop for 2 hours basically.  I was told I would be given some info on allergies and asked to pass the word around.  I got leary when the caller asked if this was my home address.  I am glad I found this site & I don't need a new vacumn mine is a new central vac.  I'll wait til they call again & tell them to take a hike.

Hope they read their employees comments on here, they are less than professional

Is your dad [***] too? I had the same demo and bought their vacuum and air purifier. I soon realized i could not afford these machines and within a couple days i returned it and got my down payment back with little hassle. If i had a stroke i would still be able to understand that i would be paying $4000 or so.. Stop discriminating your father and let him buy what he wants. He obviously found the products valuable.

They came by our street stating that they are taking an air quality survey. At the end, the lady (who is the one of the owner's of healthtek in coquitlam, bc because I saw her picture on her company info after the demo), asked for name and number to put you in a draw for $500. Well, next day she called and said we won and offered us a vacation pkg. But just before hanging up, she said we will send your gift and just give you a 5 min demo on air quality. The next day, they show with an air cleaner and vacuum. It is not a 5 min demo and after a short time, we sent them away. I highly doubt their vacation pkg they left is even true. I learned a good lesson here. I wish I had researched them before wasting time with them too. By the way, they said their deal was only good for that day and we would get the set for $4000. No Way!!!

You all have this right. We had a call from this number husband took the survey over the phone then they called saying he won something like a car kit. Got a call tonight from this guy stating he is from Heathtek Enterprises. I asked what it was all about and under no circumstances that anyone was coming into my house . He gave me this line the woman coming has to make a living has kids to feed yada yada...
I told this guy that I still did not know who they were and they will not be coming into my house. He asked me if I wore the pants then I said yes I do. He also asked me why I wouldn't let anyone in and was my house unclean. I took offense to this next comment which was what country are you from who will let someone inside the door but not upstairs. So my comment was absolutely nothing I hung up on the idiot How dare they  So Beware!!!!!
PS so obviously this woman did not show up there is a God

I received a call yesterday regarding a brief air quality survey I completed a while ago and was advised that I had won the daily prize.  Anyhow, I selected the prize and was advised that a brief air quality demo would be provided when the prize was handed over.  I was reluctant, but thought - what the hell, I can listen to someone pitch their product for a few minutes.  I received a call from some guy (Shawn - I believe) to confirm our appointment and he asked if 'both' parties would be home for the demo.  I advised that it would just be me and he told me that both parties must be present for the demo.  I replied that it wasn't possible and he said that the demo would not happen.  Upon asking for his manager, he said that he was the manager and there wasn't anyone else that I could speak with.  Based on his voice, I could tell that I had ticked him off.  I then asked for the contact details for the woman whom I spoke previously, and was told that I was wasting his time and he hung up on me.

    Seriously!

If this is a reputable company, they would not be treating people in this manner.  I have to laugh out loud at all the posted 'employee' representatives of HEI boasting how reputable the company is when they treat their potential clients in this manner.  Additionally, the degrading responses from the HEI 'employee' representatives posted on here and based on my personal experience really conveys what a joke this organization actually is.

I am not normally someone who would post something like this, but I have to admit that this experience motivated me to speak out.

They called my "Do not call" registered number today, asking for my wife, and when questioned said they weren't selling anything, but would call her again later.

So I googled the number to find this site and found out that they were HEI - and obviously selling something.

So I called them and they admitted that they were in fact HEI and that they should not have claimed to not  be selling anything.

I asked to have my number taken off their list and they did offer to do that. .
