Got a message and email fr

I got an email and message from this number about an apartment seasonal rental and he was asking for my paypal data to pay "asap" without even mentioning dates, or signing any message. Thank god I found this page. I looked it up because it all seemed too awkward.

I received a message 5 minutes ago from a Scott Salter on this number.  He wanted to know about my car for sale on the gumtree.  I told him I found this site, he is a scammer and to F%^k off.

I had the same guy send me an email just now saying that he is from Perth and works as a miner and will arrange a pick up from a shipping company, thank god I goggled his name to check if he is a scam and found this post.

Just got a message from this number from George. Car advertised on carsales. Wanted a reply to email with nearest offer. Looked suss, googled the mobile number and here we are! Thanks for the heads up! Oh, his email is georgesidii1972@gmail.com

We just received the same messages and almost fell for it! so so glad we had your reviews and feedback on here- thought it was suss and when we googled it, realised intuition was right!

Got two messages from this number, both for a car advertised on Gumtree. The first had an email address cambelluck@gmail.com and the second email address tmans278@live.com. Both offered to purchase the vehicle. 'Cambel' was purchasing it for his son. Offered to pay an additional $300 for us to take the advert off gumtree. Searched scams and found this number, so just ignored the following messages. Haven't responded to the tmans email address.

Had a car on Gumtree and received the response below. This has a depressing familiarity about it. I'll (as should everyone else report this to Gumtree).

"Thanks for the swift response, I need you to understand that i am willing and ready to purchase it right away as i really appreciate the price stated and possibly have more pictures of it, put it off the AD site and consider me as your favorite ..I have read the ad and it's okay by me.My work does not permit me to come for the inspection (very busy and currently out of town).Would have loved to call but our base right now is bad so we can get along via e-mail.

I will be paying you through PayPal,please get back to me with your PayPal name and email address so i can proceed with the payment immediately and if you don't have one it's very easy to set up visit (www.paypal.com.au).

Can you please tell me the present condition?

Note:Please provide your address in your reply so that my shipping agent can locate you when coming for the pick up.

I received email from mcraig353@gmail.com and he sounded suss so I googled him but didn't use his email address just his name. I sent him my email address for PayPal as I thought if he was a scammer he couldn't do much, am I correct?I've since found out he is and I'm a little worried.

I responded to Michael, but apparently he's on a mining rig and wants me to paypal/then deal with freight companies. Wants to buy the car as a gift for his son who has graduated top of his class at Darwin Uni. Pfft.

We had the exact same thing happen. 2 emails very similar wanting to pay us via Paypal. One of those people being Joy Weng. I'm so glad we googled their name and found out it happening to other people and it's a scam!!

As regards the payment,I can make bank deposit into your account using paypal wire transfer service, I will need your bank account info(name of your bank, name of account holder, bsb and account number) but If you are not comfortable with that, you can set up a paypal account proper at www.paypal.com.au and I will make the payment through paypal, this way, all I will need is your paypal email address and the name on the paypal account.

I received a text message this morning saying that he was interested in the Ad posted in Gumtree and wanted me to send him an email at frezie.john002@gmail.com if the car is available.

I did send him an email that the car is available and he replied back like this:

I did reply back to him with my PayPal email address and he says he will transfer the money plus an additional £300 for the pickup guys which he wanted me to transfer using western union:

payments or pick up made through them is made to their corporate
international headquarters which is in the states and the

you to help me send the money to my pick up
agent HQ in the states through western union money transfer, this can
be done from any post office ,there is always western union money
transfer section in most post offices...,i would have done it myself

some of our personal effects
along, i am a little incapacitated.....I will appreciate your help here.

At this moment I suspected this guy and immediately deleted my bank details linked to my paypal email address. Luckily I think there is no money lost as of now. Hopefully I am safe.
I replied back to him asking for his address details and that's it no response from him.

Is there anything else that I need to do to ensure I am not cheated?

Got one today 22/10/13- selling my car on Gumtree  received SMS from +6142 8465117 within 2hrs of posting the ad - email  purset@live.com.- The email message read the same as others mentioned above from  Daniel Duckford.

Instinct thought scam . Glad I checked this site, but question why he is still able to keep using the same mobile number ??
