Paul Datford replied to my ad for a boat, wanted Pay Pal or Bank Account details. Courier to pick up as he was working on an oil rig. I dont have either as I am a bankrupt...?? but happy to have courier bring me cash or a bank cheque. Havent heard from Paul, guess he is getting the cash together

got the same message from Paul, was excited for a while but told him I was a bankrupt anddidnt have a bank account or Pay Pal,havent heard from him since, loser with nothingh much more to do. Why use the same name which is spread around so much

He is still out there today. How come they are exposed but can still be active? Come on Gumtree. Get rid of this pest

Got the same SMS inquiry interested in our car add (its on Gumtree and Carsales) from Michael seay at yobohugh9@gmail.com. forwarded it on to scam alert 0429999888

I just had 2 messages to buy my car on gum tree from mobile number 0428 465 117.

One from Michael seay - email address yobohugh9@gmail.com

Second one from nic27 - email address biancoanimal611@gmail.com

Both wanted best price via email, sounded dodgy so I googled the email address and it came up with this thread! Hopefully I get some actual real buyers and not just scammers!

Same message via gumtree car ad, only they also wanted photos as well! Email address connected to this number was julianajul90@gmail.com.

Yep this guy sent me a message too, except his name was Steve at the top. Pretty much if it's web or they tell you to email it's a scam...

This idiot also goes by the names of Sam Salteri, Susan Lawrell and Juliana Jul after trying to scam me on an add I posted on gumtree...it didn't work I was a few steps ahead of him the bloody idiot.

yea, same story, got two 1.01 hours apart.  I didnt notice until a couple hours later that they were from same sms.  Luckily I responded to both with same standard info - no address etc.

Got suspicious when I got an almost identical email to the first one I googled these email addresses.

Received an SMS TXT Msg tonight in response to my Gumtree advert for my car for sale. The response came from +61428465117 claiming it came from Paul Datford.

I recieved the same message as Tracey and Karen put unfortunatly for me i put and ad on gumtree selling our boat and got an sms from pauldatford 4 hours later. An me being the trusting person that i am though we had sold our boat. He asked me to please pay $1600 to western union for transport fee, so I did then got another email from him wanting $2600 for insurance fee, thats when for me alarm bells rang.. Little late but I know now not to trust anyone who doesnt see the item first... Soooo not happy i lost that money

Yes Mr Datford has been trying it again, and even sending message about payment with logo of the Australian Federal Police. A lesson for all, if you are not sure of the person you are dealing with then try and google the name and you will see what comes up, nothing nice about this person
