Then a day later a new SMS with the same message and the same mobile number become Zick his mail is davidkingston@outlook.co.au

i got the same message as alot of you in regards to two motorbikes he was apparently happy to pay the $500 for them but was then going to spend a further $700 on a courier to take them to darwin, i let him run with his story to late be asked by him if he transfered the 700 to me could i go to a post office and deposit it to a western union bank account for his courier HQ in Beijing. Funny stuff

At first I thought he was genuine, because of the fact that a person can't do anything with a paypal account or even your bank details such as your account number and BSB. They can only do anything using your log in details for internet banking.
I sent details and got emails from "services@paypal.com.au" but in brackets was accountcreditor@mail2consultant.com saying that he had put in the amount for a car, but an addition $1100 dollars for his courier fee. I knew immediately from now that he was scamming. He sent me details of an address in China to make a payment out of my own money for the fee. Because of the emails from "PayPal"
saying that the money was there, etc, people might fall for the trick of paying that $1000 thinking that the money has already been paid back. He says that the money is locked and will process into my bank account once that $1000 is paid. I decided to mess around him for a bit saying that I just used the car for some hit and runs and there's blood all on it and [***], but he said he still wanted the car. Haha. Obvious scammer.

I had a couch on gumtree in SA. Got an email asking for the price even though it's on the ad. I do not have contact details on there, just my email address (albeit a nondescript one) but I think I'm going to edit this now.

I replied simply with the price. and ten minutes later I got

Received a text from Patrick Nicholls regarding a car ad I'd placed on Cars Guide. Next day got another text from same mobile number, but this time from Barry Richie.  Told Barry to talk to his mate Patrick!

Received an SMS from Jacqui Fir this morning from 61428465117 and then this evening from Barry Richie.  Returned the SMS and told them to talk to their mates Jac, or Pat or John or Mick or whoever the bleep they wanted to but don't sms me again or I'll lodge a formal complaint with the Australia Federal Police, and I will if I get one more of these stupid SMS's.  Either the Fed Police or ASIO.  I'm sick of them hassling so many folks.  Time to get real here.

This number is a scam. Have been contacted through Car Sales and they are dodgy - claims to be a guy called Dave with this email address: davtre13@hotmail.com

Got a response for my ad on Gumtree from Sam Salteri, says he will buy my bike sight unseen, yeh, right!
Perhaps the give away was the poor grammar This was his reply;

"Hi mate, thanks for getting back. I am happy with the bike present condition and ok with the asking price of $2,000. Pickup of the bike will be after funds has cleared to your account. Kindly get back to me with your PayPal email address or your bank details and the address for the bike to be picked after payment has been made and cleared to your account. Thanks.

I am selling my motor bike.  Got email from Craig Mickwell from this number.  Same info from New Zealand Oil & Gas.  15 days on 15 days off.

Same guy called me in uk    It's a scam !!!

Listed car for sale got a txt from 61428465117 with email attached gibbonssimon569@gmail.com, so he is simon today....

THIS IS THE 2ND TEXT wanting to purchase my vehicle on Gumtree. First number was 61429100703 and email christomky7@hotmail.com.
Next one was from Brad 61428465117 email treasuredmarine611@hotmail.com asking me to please confirm my price and get back thru his email address.
Thank you, thank you so much for this site, it made me check the number straight away.

Today received two SMS from this number via two different names: Micheal Seay yobohugh9@gmail.com and Dave Trevisani-davetre13@hotmail.com This was what made us check further. Similar story to others mentioned in blogs re paypal, Darwin, courier pick ups.

Reported it to gumtrree.
