this is my first time recieving a call from this number the best thing to do is not tell them your name.  and denny owing them any money.  tell them know to stop calling this number. they cant threaten you or harras you.  tell them you have rights

I got two calls from Client Services last night.   The first was to my home phone number.   My mother-in-law answered, and they asked for Carolyn Henry.   There is nobody here by that name, and we don't know anybody by that name.   My mother-in-law told them they have the wrong number, and the woman asked if she was calling a town in NJ (that happens to be my home town).   My mother-in-law told them no, she is calling FL.   Immediately upon hanging up, they called my cell phone number and asked for the same person!   Now, I'm alarmed because these people have my home phone number, my cell phone number and the name of the town I grew up in, and I'm afraid that this Carolyn Henry (if she exists) has stolen my identity!   I am going to call the fraud divisions of the credit bureaus next to put a fraud alert on my accounts (if I can do that before any actual fraud has occurred).   I, personally, am not past due with anyone on ANYTHING.

The clients are the banks, not the people who owe money. And they contact neighbors try and get ahold of the debtor.

It's not Bobs choice. Creditors mandate who they will or will not work with. That, of course, gets transfered to the collection agency. Target does not allow Bob or the other reps to deal with those companies. Maybe he came across as rude because you weren't getting the point?

got a call from 636-947-2321 plus 866-415-1991 not sure who these are, told my spouse not to answer figure they are looking for someone else as all my debt is being paid and I do not have a capital one account. someone must have used my number for something, i will not answer calls if i don't know who is calling me.

Hey friend, my wife getting laid off and me having to take a new job for health issues leading to a 60 percent decrease in pay does not make me a deadbeat. I can either feed and house my children, or I can pay amex. Which would you do? What's done is done. Perhaps I shouldn't have charged those thingsa, but I did, and I can't take it back now. The house was foreclosed, we had to move. I tried to work it out, but what I can pay they won't accept, so what would you have me do? Walk a mile beforehand, it may cause you to feel differently.

called my direct line (we have 18 employees) asking for a john bowen, placed him on a quick hold and asked my supervisor if we ever employed anybody by that name. He said no

Told these guys that there has never been anyone employed by this company by that name. He then asked if we had contact information. Said we dont have any idea who that is, and that this is a business line, he then continued to badger me into getting mr bowen's information, I then stated i was going to disconnect the call

supervisor asked what was going on ... decided to lookup this number (ive used this site before)

lets see if they call back, doesnt hurt me since im in outbound customer service for existing clients and it ups my call volume but im not going to waste time on the phone either.

We are a startup business so we have only had our phones a little bit over a year, so it could be someone whos had this number previously.

i am on my third call in two hours  i have had my cell number for 5 years and they are calling about a women named blanca... they wont take no for an answer how to i sue them

IRS can garnish your wsges and if you go to court for certain things ( like child support) they can garnish it but a collector can't.

I don't answer calls like this since I don't know who it is calling.  So glad for this website!!!  Shows as "Private Name" on my CallerID

They called me today and left a message, the guy said they are trying to get in touch with someone named Michael J Fox.... LOL, really? I have no debt so I can't imagine what it's about but I am not calling them back.

I JUST GOT MY CELLPHONE, NOT EVEN A MONTH AGO, AND THIS NUMBER KEEPS CALLING. I NEVER ANSWER, I ALWAYS SEND IT STRAIGHT TO VM. BUT THEY NEVER LEAVE A MESSAGE.

Whoever this person is they call our house at 8:00 in the morning every morning, and if we don't answer, they call right back from a different number.  And, we get calls from them all through the day. We are both elderly individuals with many health problems and these type calls are very annoying. Please, how can they be stopped?  We do not answer unfamiliar numbers and they never leave a message.

they called me regarding my x's debt. You can hold the individual that called from the company liable.  Privacy states that third party info can not be disclosed to your neighbors. Also calling neighbors can cause an assumption of trouble to them which is persumed to be an issue and disclosure of third party info.  Sue the individuale that called you as they are not folloeing company policy regarding debt recovery. Screw them where they live.

636-9472321 keeps calling.  They asked for my wife the one time I answered their call(s). While trying to get info on me to be able to talk to me, I told them I did not them and hung up the phone.  I do not answer their calls any more, or pick up the receiver and hang up.  Someone below mentioned they do not buy debts but only collect for the creditor and the creditor can sue for the amount.  I don't believe my wife's case is alone.  She made a deal with her creditor and has been paying her part of the deal; however, they still will try to collect the full amount which is a waste of all our time.  It is uncollectable since they agreed to the payoff deal.

This unpublished number belongs to Client Services in Chesterfield, MO.  They are a collection agency working on behalf of CitiBank, Capital One and probably others.  After many months of attempting to reach me using a different number that is not blocked, they started calling me from this number probably in hopes of throwing me off and getting me to talk to them.  They call me a minimum of three times a day on my mobile phone, but I have a Droid application that mutes my phone when they call, hangs up on them and immediately calls them back with a fax sounding annoying noise.
