I was surprised when this company called me.  I have been applying online for a while.  The process seemed weird, but it worked.

This is a legitimate company.  I called them back and talked to a guy who led me through a verification process (phone number address etc...)  They did not ask for any crazy stuff like credit card number, account numbers or personal ID stuff.

They didn’t tell me where the job was located, but said it was in my area.  The guy told me after I finished the verification that I would soon receive a phone call for an interview.  It took the company almost a week to get back to me.  Sounds good to me…

Yea, I got a call from this number too, and no one said anything and then they just hanged up. When I tried calling back I got the all circuits are busy thing. My boyfriend has been applying online for jobs alot so I guess they got our number from there? Is this some company trying to scam us or something?

I received a call from this number with no message as well.  I called the number back and although I waited several minutes for an agent I did actually speak to someone.  Not sure if this was a legitimate phone screening for any particular job as they did not ask very in depth questions. I also asked to which company this call was relating, as I have applied to several positions, and was told they did not know due to the company being confidential.
Upon answering the few simple questions the Rep than began to pitch education advancement and assistance programs. I told the representative that I was not interested in furthering my education at this time, however still received another call from a 312-249-1490 phone number shortly thereafter pitching Master's programs online.  My guess is this is a marketing scheme for online degrees/ certifications.

Applied for an online job posting at hotjobs.yahoo.com , The company name was confidential.  The hotjobs.yahoo.com link for applying went to web page titled Mandarin Employment, Application Page.  It seemed legitamate.  During the basic information gathering, it seemed a little strange that questions about continuing my education were asked.  They claim to be part of the Career Network.  Got the call as others have.  They asked way too little information for this being a telephone job screening, then went into asking about continuing my education.  I hung up. Checked and area code is Manhattan, New York.

    Oh you know what...

Its probably from career networks/ my careerharmony.com

That would make total sense. I was applying for jobs through their website and looked them up online; apparently they are a total scam, essentially a marketing ploy to get your information.

Well it worked perfectly. Thats lovely.

You know, theres is only one positive comment out of like 20.

It's probably a representative from the company posting a false comment just so people will continue calling.

I believe the company has posted broad ads to generate a large database for an online degree mill.

I received a call which disconnected when I answered. I called back and after a brief wait the lady advised her company was hired to screen applicants.I was asked if I could answer a few questions (which may take up to thirty minutes) in response to a recent online application.

The lady immediately asked what was the highest level of education I had. When I answered I had a BBA in gen. bus., an associates in gen. bus. (of course), and an associates in real estate, she feigned surprise and said it appeared I had a high level of education. She then proceeded to ask if I was willing to take additional courses if required by an employer. I responded I would be surprised at how much more an employer would want as I am in the construction business. However, I am willing to take additional courses regarding software or whatever but don't believe trying to get an additional degree at my age and stage of my career is cost effective.

The conversation which she originally estimated may take thirty minutes abruptly ended.

I believe the company has posted broad ads to generate a large database for an online degree mill.

There is a good reason they hang up if you answer the call.  States and the Nation have "Do Not Call" lists.  Tele-marketers are not permitted to call you if your number is on that list.  If you answer the call they hang up so that they do not appear to be breaking the law.  However, if you call them back then it was you that made the call and not them, so they are not techinically breaking the law to then pitch the program to you.

It is a scam that I think I will turn over to my State's Attorney General so that he can determine if they are violating the "Do Not Call" law.  Because our law says that we cannot be called; it says nothing about whether we answer.  I would suggest that everyone else do the same as the company will be hit with fines for each infraction, depending on whether your number is on your State's list or the National List.

Received a call from this number at 9:30-ish in the morning.  Didn't know the number so I didn't answer.  No message was left, didn't attempt to call back. Looked it up on the internet. Def. not calling back now after what all you guys write about it!

Yep, just received a call from the. Everytime a number comes up I don't know I don't answer and google. As so often, my instinct was right and it was just one of scam/education recruiters as always. Said that they have to be everywhere and give false hops to unemployed people.
