They called my house at 9am, my wife answered. No one said anything just hung up on her when she said hello. From what I see on here, something is not right.

    i too have been applying online  --  my-careerharmony.com  via power applications  AVOID THIS COMPANY i believe it's a scam.  when i tried to go back in to remove my phone number wouldn't let me.  no message left.  i did go to the "contact us" area and sent a message telling them my number is on the do not call registry and any more calls would result in a lawsuit.;

Yup. Its BS folks. I googled the number and came here. Good thing to because I was just going to call and go through the process. Just to make sure I emailed the "person" who was listed as a contact for a security job in my area. I asked on the status of the application and what hospital this job is for. I got an immediate response back but it was the same response I got the first time I emailed. Its just an automated response. There was no good job with  good pay. Never going to Craigslist for a job again

    this is BS
Received two calls from this number- they left no message-
I also have been looking for work online (as it seems this is the only way to even apply for a job anymore) I also believe it to be some sort of online 'education mill' as it were.  Don't bother with it.  Perhaps we job-lookers need a dedicated 'fake line' of our own when looking for jobs!

Got a call this morning on my K7 number (its a service that gives you a free # then emails the message to you as an audio file), and got no message. I too have been applying for jobs like crazy and I'm not about to give someone I don't know my real number online. Hey here's an idea, maybe I could work for them! Lol

    Calls from (646) 520-0696:

I would encourage anyone who has called the number to report it on http://www.fraud.org.  Based on your comments, I'm not calling them back because they can use your call-back as a means of verifying that the number is accurate.

I have been applying for jobs online like crazy.  I graduate in December with two Bachelors in Accounting and Financial Management. I found a job on hotjobs.com for an "entry level accountant" in my area.  After filling out the online application and clicking "no thanks" to their numerous offers to further my education, I get a call from 646-520-0696.  I answered, thinking it could be an interview opportunity for any number of jobs I have applied for only to get a recorded message saying "we have been trying to reach you in regards to a resume you submitted online." They wanted me to call them back to verify my current information so they could pass it along to the employer.
So I called and spoke with "Melissa" who told me the call would take between 5-45 minutes.  She asked if I was available to speak with her to which I reluctantly agreed.  She asked me to verify my name, address, phone number, whether I had internet connection at my house, and education.  When I told her I was currently in school and that I was graduating after 5 years this December, she said she had all the information she needed and thanked me for my time.  The total time on the phone with her was less than 4 minutes.
It sounds like they are more interested in pushing educational programs on people than they are about finding people jobs.
I'm with everyone else on here...sounds like a scam to me...
but they don't have any REALLY personal information like bank account numbers, credit card numbers, or social security numbers, so I wouldn't worry too much about identity theft just yet.  The most they can do is mail soliciate you.
Hope this helps.  Anyone debating on calling this number back should save themselves the hassle.

This number is linked to a craiglist job scam.  They put an ad for a Personal Assistant on Craiglist San Diego 5/4.  I forewarded my resume and got a auto generated reply saying the response to the job was so great they wanted everyone to apply online.  Then after getting basic personal info, another website came up about free educational assistance. Starting the next morning I got calls from the educational assistance company (which I didn't answer) and now I am receiving calls from 646-520-0696 which is affiliated with the educational company.  Be careful of Craigslist postings (buying, selling, jobs - anything on the list).  So many flakes and scammers!  Really disgusting that they are setting up people looking for jobs!

    Call it a hunch
I got a call from this number this morning.  I bet you all did what I did and posted resumes on either careerbuilder.com (who I am very upset w/ right now after doing days worth of research to find out that they are funded by internet companies who generate spam and they sell your information to 3rd parties for next to nothing) and/or Craigslist.com.  Am I right?  Most of you are thinking..yup, I posted w/ one or both of them.  Here's the deal, if they do NOT leave a voicemail, they are not important enough to call back. Plain and simple.  If it was a REAL potential employer, you would have gotten a message and contrary to previous comments, no, the companies are not fined for this infraction, this is a perfectly legal call and I wouldn't verify squat!  If it's on my resume, it's current and if they had more than just your name and phone number, they would know that.  They were sold your information, bought only name and # and then call you for the rest to save money.  Keeping you on the phone is a sort of "tracking".  The longer you're on the phone, the more time they have to scrape up as much about you as possible.  As a previous idenity theft victim, I can prove this.  Took me over 6 years to clean up that mess and I can only advise that you ignore these calls and do NOT call it back.

This number has been showing up on my caller ID on a daily basis.  I know better than to call them back, that is just stupidity.  Here's the deal...if you are searching for a job on craigs list, this stuff is gonna happen.  You have to deal with it because the world is full of this scam crap and the only thing you can really do about it is NOT answer or call them back.
A real employer would leave a voicemail.  A real education opportunity call would include a voicemail.  If you call this number back, be prepared for an onslaught of plenty more where that one call came from.  Calling it back registers your number in a cold call calling list for telemarketers nation wide.  You know that "do not call list" we all rushed to get on a few years back, by calling these numbers back, you are taking yourself off that list.  Don't believe me?  Email your attorney general.  They'll tell ya.  I have to say, people that call these numbers back out of sheer curiosity are not thinking will all functioning brain cells.  Think about it people...really!  Not to be mean but seriously, in this day and age, with all the scams, spams and idenity theft out there, some really think that calling back is no big deal???  I don't get it.  Why?

Cold called me at 9am.  Prepackaged voice told me that they had tried to call me once before (not on my missed calls), told me it was a verification service, and repeated the number I should call (this number, same as the caller id) twice.

I googled it and found this, decided to call back anyway.

It was an employment verification company. They had misspelled my email address while transcribing my resume or application.  I did not give them any information beyond what they already had.  The entire call was about 5 minutes long but I was on hold for probably half of that.

So, if you're in the job market call them back- if not, don't.

    Hello
They said they were a verification company, and asked some basic information that i filled out on my application.  No sensitive information was asked of me except for verifing my phone number.  That was it.  A bit wierd.

    Hi
This has SCAM written all over it. I have been applying online also and have been getting all kinds of calls from different numbers that I qualify for a loan to go back to school. This # has nevers leaves a message, and when I answered it today, I was on my cell phone and clicked over & they didn't say anything. I was worried about clicking them into a 3 way call.Which when I got off the the phone they were on there for 41 minutes during my 63 minute call. I tried to call them back and report it to a supervisor, but on hold 15 min, just hung up. Recording said that I applied for a job through Career Network and a application specialist will be with me soon, the company you applied for is confidential. Guy on recording also had a British accent. FoneFinder.net has this: 646-520(NWYRCYZN02) - New York    PAETEC COMMUNICATIONS, INC. - NY - WIRELESS PROV

Total BS. I never applied for any jobs. When I called back this number that was on my caller ID, I got a recorded message of a guy with a British accent saying they were verifying things about my "job application". There is no job application.
