I just received the same call from 1-000-000-0000 with a woman who had a thick Indian accent about 10 minutes ago. I questioned why the number was all zeros and she said I was through the computer. She got an attitude when I kept questioning her. She then said she was with Opton PC Care and the company is contracted through Microsoft and the company is contacting all Windows users, etc. just like everyone has said before me. We can usually block numbers on our house phone however we cannot block this number. Also, when I asked for a number to call back, I was given the 702.583.5515. She really got mad when I refused to give her access to my computer. Too bad we, the call receivers, cannot send this company computer viruses! ;)

My GFs Dad just got this same scam and $191 later. What a bunch of low life scum. NEVER LET SOMEONE YOU DONT KNOW REMOTE INTO YOUR COMPUTER. That is an instant red-flag.

Has anyone been successful at getting a full refund within their 30 day money back statement as documented in their terms and conditions.

I got the call too and suspected it was a scam.  I called Life Lock and confirmed call was routed to a call center in India.  Also called Microsoft.  Is there no way to stop these people?  I am on the no call list, but it seems to be worthless.

The same thing happened to me on June 3, 2013. The heavily accented Indian person said he was calling in behalf of Microsoft and then proceeded to tell me/show me all these things wrong with my computer. He kept me on and off the phone for most of the afternoon while on e of his "technicians" worked over my computer. He then presented a bill for $300 + $60 TAX for six years' service for up to two computers and one printer. I have put a stop payment on my credit card. They installed three software programs on my computer: CCleaner, Win Utilities and Opton PC Care. Should I uninstall them? I don't know. I , too have registered with the FBI's website and contacted my credit card company.

Indian guy named ERIC very pushy also....Big story about how my computer would crash. When I told him how much it would cost he jarbled something like nothing unless it's a big problem. So we all know it would of course end up bing a BIG PROBLEM! Told him I would call him back. He told me he was from Microsoft also and if I didn't let him fix  the problem, my computer would CRASH> I had just finished playing a free blackjack game that I had never played before. I think it is linked to this so whenever you play that casino site, it gives info to these "con artists" and they call you.  I thin k this because he said that I was playing a game online and it downloaded a virus.  How would he know this? I NEVER play except I did this one time today. HE was VERY UNHAPPY I WOULD NOT LISTEN TO HIM! Definitely a scam!

6/24/2013   same story as above.   Thick accent and obviously calling from a call center, since i could hear all of the background conversations going on...and all with accents.
they claim to be calling to alert a trouble with my windows program and to go directly to my computer and access the internet so they can walk me through....to prevent my computer from crashing.
the only reason i listened as long as i did, was yesterday i purchased a microsoft office software package.
i was installing it on one of my computers - but was sent a message that i needed to upgrade to windows 7 ( i had windows xp)     But they asked too many odd questions, i said i would call them back.  They gave me the # 702 583 5515.   and w/i the next 30 minutes they have called me 5 more times but i do not answer.  Even stranger, when they call, the caller id name that appears on my cell is that of one of my stored contact names on my cell.    I do not know or how they get our information.....   it is quite scary.

A guy named Rob with a very heavy accent called me and said he was going to help me fix my computer.  He said he was from Microsoft Help and Support. I asked where he was located and he said Las Vegas.  The number he gave me to call him back was 702-583-5515.  So are you real or just one of the scammers posting to get people to believe this phone call is really from Microsoft??
No matter what you say I will not call them back, nor will I allow them to access any part of my computer.
It doesn't take a degree in computer science to know this is a scam.  How would Microsoft know my phone number?  I got this laptop from someone who wasn't using it anymore.  The call should have gone to the original owner, right?  Not a second hand owner!

They just called me and gave me the same story, when I pressed him for more information about himself, he balked.  He even threatened me with revoking my Window's Lisence if I did not cooperate with him.  I demanded a number to call him back with and he finally gave it, Julius Rosen at 702-583-5515.  I am glad to see all your comments here.  I will report him as well.

they got me too. A 2-hour call last Friday. The first one claiming to be from Comcast after which they turn be over to the paid fix site. Hundred fifty dollars later they said they fixed It.  today, Wednesday, I got another call from the same people using the above number trying to get me to let them log on to my computer. When I did the reverse check up on this number I found all of these complaints. Sorry to be long to this club but we have all learned something.

Have been receiving call from these people several time all excited that we where at risk and all our Microsoft apps were shutting down and we were at risk.  They had my computer ID number.  So they must be hacking into my computer.  I had a good firm look at and clean my computer.

Got the 1st call last night. Same story, Indian guy called saying he work with Microsoft and that he rec'd reports that my computer was at risk. I was suspicious so I asked the company name & phone # and told him I was busy & that my husband would call him back. He told me Opton Telecomm LTD and gave me 702-583-5515. I googled the name and it listed as a company in England....but I didn't see any mention of fraud.

Tonight they called again (caller ID V21205282800009 1-000-000-0000). Again, same story. I questioned him & told him I didn't have time. He was insistent that I hit the windows button & the letter R so he could prove to me that I was at risk. I did that but decided not to continue when he said I needed to enter the letters: eventvwr. Told him I was busy with my son & couldn't continue. I told him I would call them back as soon as I could verify with Microsoft that they were affiliated. I asked him for the Co. name again and this guy said Opton UST Group. Afterwards, I decided to google the phone # and that's where I saw all the scam notices. I feel really bad for the people who think they are legitimate.

Ditto all of the above - received call today 1/29/2014.  Again, heavily accented Indian person called "Danial Jackson".   Told him I wasn't in front of my computer and he wanted me to give him a specific time when I would!   He was obviously reading from a script.   Told him I didn't know when I would be at my computer (even though I was at it when he called!).    I put them phone down on them and he even called me back!   He had my full name, home phone # and zip code so I suspect they're going through the phone book

I was called and told if I did not allow the Microsoft technician access to my PC the "errors" (which were allowing hackers to retrieve my personal info daily) would cause identity theft and ultimately my computer to crash.  I usually hang up on these type of calls but was taken in, to the tune of $263.00.  The Indian man that I spoke with had the ID# of my computer and told me he worked with Microsoft and was authorized by Microsoft to repair the errors.  He identified himself as Rob Williams.

I too have received several calls from these people, I told them I was away from computer and they want a specific time I would be on my computer.  I played their game.   They called me an hour before I told them too.  They were from a call center - I heard in the background. He said he was from Microsoft-he said he had my IP address too.   He was Indian, pushy as well.  I told him I am not turning my computer over to him.  He said I had serious computer problems - that people had my bank account name and number (ID thief).  I told him to give the name of his company and phone number.  He said (just like you), Optonpccare.net  (702) 533-5515 and ask for FRANK when I call back.  SCAM SCAM SCAM

Same scam as reported by others.  These guys are smooth.  I was almost taken  by this, even though I've worked as a computer sysadmin for years.  They said they were calling from Windows Health and Support Center, and then claimed it was Microsoft when I asked. Had me pull up event viewer on my Window computers, and showed me error messages, and claimed that my info was leaking from my computer onto the internet due to the Heartland Bug.   Definitely calling from what sounded like a calling center, spoke to 3 different people all with thick Indian accents including the "senior tech" Sam Walton.  I got suspicious when they wanted to put remote software on my computer, and charge $180  to fix my computer.  He gave me this number to call back on, and said it was Nevada.  Very shady characters.  I hope someone is investigating them.

Just got a call from 1-000-000-0000, a man with a foreign accent.    There are 8 calls from them on my answering machine since yesterday. They had told my husband he could call back at 702-583-5515  a few days ago.  I told them we were on the "no Call" list so please stop calling this number.  He wanted to know why...I said he is a scam artist.  He said "Who told you?"  I told him I looked it up...He continued to argue with me and he called me by my name.  I told him I was not going to argue with him....he continued to scream we have a virus on windows....I said that is a lie....and then I warned him again to not call us ever again.  I hung up as he was screaming at me.

I agree with Gray, Dee, Rachel and all the others.  I was duped.  I paid.  I was leery and made inquiries and talked to friends, then I found this page.  I have put a stop on my payment and hope this will teach these guys a lesson.
