I just got a call also on my cell. A man promised to lower my interest rates on my credit cards. I just laughed and said I don't have any credit cards he immediately hung up. When I called back it was busy. Please be careful. The number that called me was 1-760-242-8473.

I contacted my local Sheriffs Dept and they gave me a toll free number to file an FCC complaint. After going through a maze automated transfers, I was told to go to their website  fcc.gov/complaints and file form 1088. I did that and encourage everyone who got the phone call to do the same.  Believe me I know it's a hassle (I had to wait 45 minutes on the non-emergency line to get a deputy and wasted another 15 minutes going through the FCC telephone maze), but the only way to stop these con-artists or bad business practices is for good people to complain.

Go to http://www.fcc.gov/complaints and file a complaint.

.....Just got a call from this number and these scanners have targeted my 84yo dad......because he falls for their scams. Area code 760 is in California.

This is a total scam. The guy was trying to tell me was going to lower my credit card interest rate. I don't have any credit cards. These people buy collections files that have been sold over and over again so they get your info from a file from years ago. Do not give them any of your information!! A bank or credit card company will never contact you over the phone for information, they will mail it to you and you have to call them. I am a successful debt collector and know your tricks idiots. You dial a 9 before the number your calling so the caller ID shows a bogus number so it can't be traced back to you, so you think. I will be giving your info to my attorney and we will find out who you are. I have no debt, and have not had a credit card in over 10 years. The guy talked to had an India accent and when I asked him what kind of company he was and who he was looking for since I had no credit cards, he hung up. I psycho dialed him until some girl answered. She said it was not her and he was located in New Mexico. This number is a California number.

I got a call from this number today, something about credit card, I did not answer, normally I do not answer numbers I do not know, I knew it was a scam, I filled a compliant with FTC, and I blocked this number from future call, and next time I will file a petition to get to owner ‘information under the privacy communication act.

Just some more insight on how scammers work. Once this number is burnt, they will get another number to run off of and just continue to get new numbers. They will Google it every once in a while to look for stuff like this, and when they see postings like mine, that is when they will change their number. Anyone calling you with a foreign accent asking for your info, they are scammers, Chase doesn't outsource their accounts to India or any other country. If they can not tell you who they are, or working for it's obviously a scam. This guy told me Bank One, which is now and has been Chase Bank for years now. They are not going to have a name like Michael, they are foreign but make up some fake name. They will call your family and sometimes friends or in-laws. Any bank would never do business like this. They don't have someone from another country calling you and asking you for your card number over the phone, ever!!!! They will never call you and offer a lower interest rate, they always send a flyer or something in the mail with your card statement. I will be looking more into your info when I get back in the office on Tuesday and dig deeper for more info about who you are, then I can assure you, I will put you on blast every chance I get. I will not allow people or companies like you to ruin jobs like mine, who collect on legit debt that is owed. There is a proper way to do business, and yours is absolutely not proper. Keep laughing too, cause when your office gets raided and shut down by the Feds, I'll be sitting in my office enjoying a cup of coffee, with a huge smile on my face and knowing at least I did something to try to protect innocent people that may not have any clue how things like this work, so they believe your lies and get taken for all they have and lose everything. There is a moral line you can not cross in this type of business, and as a human being, how can you live with yourself knowing what you do to people can ruin an innocent person's life??? Scumbags

called and wanted credit card Info

I received the same call a couple of hours ago.  It was a computer talking and said they could lower my credit card down to 6%.  If I wanted to talk to someone about this to push 1 and if I wanted to disconnect push 2.  I pushed 1 to see what they wanted and who they were and the phone hung up.  
I just tried to call the number back because I thought it was a scam and the first two times I called it was busy and the third time it just rang so I thought I would just look up the number on line to see who it was.  Deep down I thought for sure it was a scam.

I received a call from this number.  It may have claimed to be "Claim Chase Bank" but I told the man I couldn't understand him & we were disconnected.  The number 7602428473 came up on my phone as being generated from Apple Valley California area..

Got a call this afternoon, didn't recognize the number so I did not answer it. Glad I didn't. Thanks everyone.

this scam called my home when my 15 year old son when he was home alone. They wanted him to sign up on a credit card.  we entered this number 760-242-8473 on google search and this webpage came up.  Every one that receives these calls should go to the FCC.gov and file a complaint. The number 7602428473 with the caller id as california.

Received a call this morning - September 3, 2013- at 9:06am on my cell phone. Didn't answer and they didn't leave message. How do they get our cell phone numbers? Both my landline and cell phone numbers are on the FCC Do Not Call List so that exercise is a waste of time and energy as it does no good!!!

Just got a call from this number; didn't recognize it so didn't bother answering.  No message left.  Line is busy when I try to call back.

Got this call about 15 minutes ago.  I didnt answer since I didnt recognize the number.   No meesage left. I called the number and the phone rang busy.    I am also on the do not call list.... what terrible people

Scam.

Call said it was my credit card company, and they could lower my rate if I pressed 1 or hang up if I pressed 2, and this was my last chance to lower my rate to 6.9%. I pressed one and a person with a heavy foreign accent asked me if my total credit card debt was over $3500. I said I wasn't giving this information over the phone as my credit card company would have it. I then asked if it was a scam and he said "no." I asked if they were my credit card company and he said they were a private company offering credit card services. Obviously a scam looking for personal information. I told them to remove my number from their calling list and they hung up.

Got a call at 8:30 this morning.  Didn't recognize the area code, so did not answer.  They did not leave a message, which is usually a sign of someone who had no legitimate reason to be calling.
