It is AT&T.  I changed my credit card, and they called to verify.  I called number back, and it was AT&T.

My phone rang and some DUMBASS hangs up?? WTF???

I made changes to at & t service and got 5 hang up today from this number

I get so many dumb Toll Free calls that I don't answer 99% of them!!! But this one I should have....thanks for the info. I just changed to AT&T Uverse and am awaiting installation service info.

I just opened landline service and my call log states I dialed 800-288-2020 during a time when I was not at home!

I made an attempt to call back, but to no avail.

Who owns this number and why does my call log state I dialed number, when I was not home?

Got a message from this number saying they wanted to confirm that I authorized the change. What change? I have Verizon and Sprint.

I called back and the recording started asking questions about my phone number. Then wanted my zip code, and then my address...

They got as much as my phone number and address, then I refused to go any further.

WTF kind of scam is this? Don't fall for it, once they have all your info, their slimy ways will authorize something, not sure what...

Received a text message on my mobile (non-AT&T) confirming an AT&T U-verse install.  They gave me a date and a 2 hour time window.  That's great, except I have no idea what they are talking about.  I DO NOT have an order to install anything.  When I called 800-288-2020, the AT&T automated service verified exactly what the text message stated.  Then I said "Operator" and it moved me on to an incompetent AT&T employee who first re-verified the same information about my so-called order.  I informed her this was a mobile phone and I had no idea what this was about.  She then asked me for an alternative number.  I gave her my home number.  She could find no record associated with that number.  We then went round and round for 10 minutes; me trying to get an explanation as to how the text message got to my mobile phone and her repeating the same jibberish about how no record existed for the number I gave her.

This smells like very poor sales practice.  They left me with no answers and wasted my time.  AT&T, I'd like you to meet my Attorney General.  

Anyone else experience the same nonsense?

Caller calls and does not leave a message

Got three messages on my cell yesterday. Telling me about the installation schedule. Ask me to call back to reschedule. I did not order any thing from AT&T. Went to AT&T local office to check it out. At&t Rep told us they don't do any installation in Hawaii. In hawaii, we only have One landline phone compony. So be aware. Don't call back...

It's AT&T, usually related to a service call that you've either had or scheduled. In our case, we had a dispute and they were calling for information from this number.

Well I received a phone call too from this # and the person ask me for security me I have your SS# and your birthday and I said for the same reason I cann't give to you and I hand up.

Got three call from this toll free number today and when I answered no one was on the line.  After reading the messages others posted I can only identify a AT&T site interaction as the the potential culprit.

I do not have an account with this company and never have.

will report to Elder Abuse if they keep calling.

AT&T called me from this number (800-288-2020) at 2:00 AM to wake me up and there was nobody on the line.  I had called earlier in the day to complain about bad service and the more than 10,000.00 worth of damage they did to my house when they were here last. I guess this is there way of saying they do not like me complaining about there gross incompetence.

received a call at 10:32AM on 6/28/2012 from this number but didn't answer so unwanted/unwelcomed spam or telemarketing most likely

I got a message from 800 288 2020.  I found that it belongs to AT T company.  ATT is dumb enough to call deaf customer.   ATT is a stupid company..
