- RSI received a call saying it was from Citibank and asking to login to my account or call a number but I don't have a Citibank account.
- P. SchwinnFor all the idiots who claim, this is not a scam I have a nice swamp land in my back yard to sell to you dirt cheap for only $10 million so you can drill for some black gold. If Citibank will call you, their name and # will show up on your caller ID if you are smart enough to have one in 2016. And they will leave a message. These people keep calling because they are stupids. We continue to receive their stupid calls: 11:17 am on 6/30, 2:10 pm on 6/29, 2:19 pm on 6/30, 11:11 am on 7/1, 2:11 pm on 7/1, 11:05 am on 7/5, 2:06 pm on 7/5, 11:18 am on 7/6, 2:19 pm on 7/6. This is our business line for which we have to pay $170 each month to AT&T but then we are the ones who have to waste our time getting these calls.

- EmjayI called Citibank with whom I had a Sears card. Neither Citibank nor Sears recognizes the number. It is a FAKE. Do not answer them and do not give out any info to them. I am going to have this phone number blocked.

- Caller: They say they're Citi bank
- Call type: Debt collector
- BobThey say that they are Citibank but they called trying ro collect on a closed ExxonMobil gas card that was stipped two years ago. It was legit but they are going about it the wrong way by lying about who they really are, including an Unavailable identifier.

- Chanel FeigenCalled me once so far. I've been getting calls a lot from scam telemarketers lately. It drives me nuts. I'm a teen and I'm too scared to keep my phone with me anymore. At nights I put it in my parents room and put it on airplane mode during the day so my data turns off. I don't know why they keep calling but sooner or later I'll have to report this to the police. It's over.

- KatieI keep getting calls from 1-800-388-2200, a guy with a thick accent leaves a voicemail saying to call back the number to verify the status of my Citibank account. I do not have a Citibank account, never had. I started second guessing myself after several of those voicemails, so I finally went through all my accounts to check and nope, no Citibank cards. These calls are very frustrating and scary, especially since just last week my parents' checking account got hacked and $1000 was withdrawn...from across the country! I'm on the do-not-call list, but apparently that doesn't work anymore because I get calls like this on a regular basis. >_<
- Caller: They say it's Citibank
- Lynn| 1 replyThis call comes through 4 times a day. I'm on the do not call register and everyday it's the same. It's Citibank which I don't deal with in any way. Is there no end to it?

- BrianI received calls from this number two days in a row. The gentleman had an Irish accent. I called the number and verified that it is, indeed, CitiBank. I had recently closed an account and had a $60 outstanding balance that was 4 days overdue. I verified the information online and paid it via my bank's online bill pay service. Good thing they called before it hit 30 days overdue... I avoided having a negative hit on my credit report!
The advice that someone else gave is good... if in doubt, call the number on the back of the card. In my case, I have had Citi cards for myself and my businesses and couldn't be sure which one they were referencing.
Also bear in mind that the big boys (Citi, Chase, Bank of America) manage the card business for retail operations and the bank's name may not be on your card. These are called "transparent" accounts and if you have a retail merchant card, you may very well have a Citi, BOA or Chase card and simply not know it.- Caller: Citi Bank
