BOA collections,  this is not a scam

Someone is calling me from this number and I don't know who it is.

I verified with Bank of America that this number is from their collections department - it is NOT a debt collector, it's a courtesy call to remind you that your payment is overdue.

If they are legit, why don't they leave messages?

I don't have either card and they just called me. BTW, I have caller ID and either don't ever answer numbers I don't know, or sometimes if you pick up the receiver and then immediately hang up it tells their computer program call was completed and no more calls, at least till the next round.

yeah for the last two weeks I have been getting two calls a day from this number. They never leave Vm. My minimum payment was sent the beginning of the month, so I am gonna block them on my phone

Calls continuosly all day long. Never leaves a message.

Yes it's a scam

I receieved a call and dummly gave them the info they asked for being a card that i would be paying my credit card late payment. When i hung up i felt unsure so i called bank of america and they said thy dont place out going calls so i quickly canceled my card and theyve called a couple times since then but i just ignore.

Telemarketers have to abide by the DNC list; however, bill collectors are not bound by the DNC rules.  You can give them a disclaimer that you're aware of your debt and for them to stop the harrissing phone calls and they will have to limit their calls to one a day.

I don't understand how any bank can send an account to collections unless it's an internal collections department.  Even still, the bankrupcy laws now state they can't report you as paying late until you're late past 30 days.  But reporting late payments to the credit bureaus and them sending your accounts to collections (internal or otherwise) are two different things.

I talked to BOA out of curiosity after getting several calls from that number, since I was paying a bill and do have a BOA card.  I was told by the girl I talked to that it was a scam and they will never call you.

Calls 3 to 4 times a day, leaves no message.

They keep calling and leave no message. Been over a week and a half since they started calling.

I started receiving these calls. I am not sure this is a collection service. I recently got a BOF card and have not used it so i have no debt.  I have not even activated it and don't plan too. So, i just added them to my phone block app. Problem solved.
