This seems to be a legit collections call.  I called it back as the person they were asking for apparently had my number before me, and I'm constantly getting collections calls for her.  I'd be wary of ignoring this one if they have your correct name when they call.

It's Comenity Bank. They deal with multiple stores such as Boscov's, Victoria's Secret, Hot Topic, etc. Really quite amusing to listen to them. Never had a card with them. Not sure where they got my number from.

This doesn't sound like something that bank would actually do. I wonder if someone is pretending to be them?

Some lady called for my younger sister saying it was an urgent matter and that if she didn’t hear back from her by the end of the day it would result in “rendering further  actions against her.” Then she said that for her to find out what the pending matter is that she must call her office at  this 800 # and extension #1226015 (worth noting that the # that showed up on my Caller ID was +1 (614) 212-7554 which is apparently a Westerville, OH area code & prefix. The tone of the voicemail was ominous, but this is 100% BS solely intended to frighten/intimidate someone into calling them back and probably becoming victims of a phishing scam or convinced to settle a “debt” that they didn’t even owe to avoid “rendering further action.” She never gave her name nor did she mention the name of the “action rendering” company/firm/boiler room/WTFever either (although a quick google search revealed they are called World Financial).  I did consider calling her up and reading the definition of the word “render” to her, so she could spend the rest of her day shamefully pondering the depth of her ignorance and wondering how many other people realized she doesn’t understand the words that come out of her own mouth. Then I remembered that my voice is kinda sexy and I didn’t want to risk not knowing if she was panting lustfully into the phone as I spoke or if she is just an extreme mouth breather, so I decided against it. ;-)

These people are calling me and now my husband's phone. I'm tired of the threats and them saying have your representative  call me. This place needs to stop the harassment or get sued. They call at all hours,  who do they think they are?

I just got this call. I know it's a scam, seeing as how I'm a fourteen year old kid with no job. Block the number and/or decline the call.

Got a call from "Don Brooks" (maybe john, doesn't matter, they use aliases anyway because they don't want us to find them and harass them at home). Left a message on my phone for my husband. Not sure how he got my number, as I know my husband would not have put mine on anything. Anyway, first, this genius calls from a "private number" (SUPER professional, Don!). Then leaves this long voicemail about how he will regret it if he doesn't call him back immediately (Seriously, Don? Threats?). And finishes off with his extension and how he can't help my husband from the atrocities that will befall him if he doesn't call him back (Come on, Don, we all know you are no hero!). Collectors don't intimidate me. Your lawyer threats don't intimidate me. Your implications of other legal action, don't scare me. If I wasn't busy, Don, I'd answer the phone just to mess with you. Maybe check and see if my state is a 2 party or 1 party consent and record the call to see how many laws you break (they made a LOT of laws to control you sociopaths about 15 or so years ago, because you guys were so slimy with your threats and intimidation). It could have been fun, Don. I could have found out your real name in court, posted it here for the 12 pages of annoyed people to ponder. Alas, I don't have time to be bothered with an hour plus of your outright lies for sport. Next time, don't block your phone number (I mean, c'mon, you work for a legit business, right? No need to hide. Be a man, Don!) and I promise to answer and let you know that I am aware my husband is late on a store credit card. I would also let you know whether it is tomorrow or 6 years now, I will pay the original creditor. I will pay the issuer of the card, not some loser in a cubicle who blocks his number and makes false threats, hoping it is some old person who will be intimidated. Not happening, Don. You aren't making a commission off our late bills. Better luck next time. Oh, and Don, look up some laws. Next time, leave it at who you are looking for, its an urgent business matter, and your contact info. Adding all of the rest about lawyers, legal action, assuming we don't want to resolve this, etc, could be against some of those laws I mentioned earlier. When you start costing your employer $1,000 per phone call, you might have to find a new career. And hey Don, I'm going to assume you don't have many talents.

I returned a call to Miss Pasada at Ext 124-6153. I informed her the person she was calling was not at this number. I started to speak again and she hung up on me. I called back to inform her how unprofessional it was to hang up on people. She stated “the call was dropped.” I told her I wanted her to know this number did not belong to “Kimberly” and I thought the way she spoke in the VM was rude, threatening, unprofessional and you catch more flies with honey. She raised her voice at me to tell me she appreciated me letting her know she got a wrong number and to have a “nice rest of your day.” I asked to have my number removed from the list and she said she would do so. I told her rudeness doesn’t get you very far, that kindness is the key bc you never know someone’s circumstances. She then hung up.
