I think they are full of crap.. I have gotten to calls for someone that has a different last name.. that lives near by.. dont really know the person.. and they call our number asking for that person.. and is very threatening.. and it would not be their old number.. I have had this number since 1987.. and we have a different last name.. so why call us.. because they are fishing for info.. just hoping you give it to them.

I got a call around 4:30 pm from an agent "Amy" about a matter I need to settle. I was pretty suspicious at first because it showed up as an unknown number on the caller ID. What made it even more suspicious was that they called to my mom's place and not my number. They also didn't disclose that they were a debt collector, nor did they say the place/company that they were calling from. I know I'm in debt at the moment, but I'm working with a credit management agency and I've been on time with my payments. I've paid off another debt too, so I don't know why I'm getting called in the first place.

Report these people to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the FTC.  The more people report them the more likely they will be investigated and arrested/sued by the government.

I got the same message different agents saying urgent message blah blah it’s in your best interest blah attorney blah if we don’t hear from you immediately then we would have to proceed with matters that will affect you times got hard I know I have a Victoria secret card for my girl friend my pay was basically cut in half I have three kids the last thing on my mind right now is credit cards I need to keep my lights heat cars and important things before I worry about this but according to all that I’m reading hear I feel as if someone is trying to scam me and get my bank info

Received a call from Ms.Maydel (recording stuttered on her name). Urgent message has to make a decision affecting my life. Stated my attorney or i need to call her back right away but would not say why. I think this is a scam, i have one debt from hot topic and have a different debt collector calling on that who does not hide their number when calling  like this lady does.

Same message, Mr. Powell, calling regarding an urgent personal matter that requires my immediate attention.  States my personal matter has been placed with his office and he strongly advises me to contact him today before a decision is reached that will have a dire affect on my life.  I should contact him at 800-695-7444 ext 1227531. Never states a company name and the call came in as restricted.

got this phone call on my cell phone, looked up here who it is that called me, its appears to be commedity bank from hot topic, this person name mr. dyson said the same thing to me that each caller said about the attorney and i have to call back because if i don't he's going to make the decision about a business matter, but he didn't say where he's  from? what company he works for? his number is 1-800-695-7444 ext. 1227504. had to look up my credit score and i have no collections on my credit, need to make one more payment and for commedity bank to leave me alone.

I keep receiving phone calls from these jokers and they aren't even asking for me. They are asking for the ex-wife of  my ex boyfriend  of 24 years and counting (thank gooodness) ! I didn't even have this cell phone number then!! Then the person on the vmail goes on about how important it is to receive a call back and provides an ext.# that is just as long as the phone number. Also the other day I had three different people call  and give the same speech for  a person that isn't me.  They are crazy and nuts if they think I'm going to ever answer the phone call!!!! Also for reference the number that called me was a number that had a 303 area code which is in Colorado.

And I don't even have any debt collectors after me ,all my bills are up to date(thankfully)

For several *months* they have been calling using different numbers and tactics leaving messages for a person that is not me (even though my name is in the voice mail greeting). They leave a msg to call 800 695 7444 and "should give him a call back or he will be forced to make a decision form that could affect me".

As this is not my main number my new voicemail greeting is now a recording of the 'party horn ear rape' at full blast.

Some of these comments are ridiculous... Like calling them names because you thought their voicemail was threatening, don't you see the irony? Anyway, they called me for my sister, I called back and refused her number and they took my number off. I did tell my sister though. If she's not paying her bills to the point where they're skip tracing her family, she's got issues to resolve. They finance retail credit cards, she bought nothing she couldn't live without. She did this to herself.

Mr. Wynard called from "the bank" because my father's case had reached a critical level at "the bank." Offered to allow me to make a "voluntary resolution" (which I assume would be in the form of a cash settlement) to "the bank." Most definitely a scam. These people have called 3-5 times a day. Sometimes they leave a voicemail and sometimes they don't. I am sending a cease and desist letter to them. Maybe they will stop. If not my attorney will be contacting them.

Urgent message. Threatening

Several calls per day re: debt. They're calling me, the spouse of the person whose name the debt is in. I have a generic vmail greeting so they address me with my spouse's name. Very threatening at each call. Same words as above, "This is Specialist Joe Schmoe...you or your attorney call us by X or if you choose to disregard this call, we will have to make a decision that could directly affect you."

I had this man calling my supervisor looking for me at work. He called main line and the front desk forwarded to my team lead. I believe it was a creditor. Deep voice and sounded robotic. Said my name wrong. It was obvious it was another person's number and he still left a message. I don't believe it looks good for them to harass people at their job. I need my job, I am single mom with 2 kids. This has to be illegal.

Just received a call from Ms. Beazendorfer with same comments. I'm not the person they are looking for. As soon as I block one number, they change to another.

Same as all the others. Need to call them back or else basically. I see this has been happening since 2007...11 years!! Why have they not been stopped by now?

It is Comenity Bank Collections. Their main number is 800-695-7444. They use anonymous caller and no caller ID most of the time, blocking their main number. ☠️
