Received a call three times today, all from "blocked" numbers telling me that I need to contact them ASAP as I only have until the end of the day or they would be making a decision that could ruin my life. I need to have my attorney call them TODAY !

I JUST GOT A CALL FROM THAT NUMBER SO I CALLED IT BACK TO SEE WHO IT WAS. IT IS A BANK. MINE WAS FOR A FASHION BUG BILL. I TRIED TO WORK WITH HER. SHE WASNTED THE FIVE HUNDRED RIGHT THEN. SHE WANTED TO KNOW WHA KIND OF CREDIT CARD I WISHED TO USE AND I TOLD HER NONE. THAT I WOULD PAY SO MUCH A MONTH AND SHE SAID THAT WAS NOT ACCEPTABLE. THEN I TOLD HER I HAD NO INCOME ONLY MY HUSBAND AND SHE SAID YOU ARE STRUGGLING AND I SAID YES AND SHE ASKED ME HOW COULD I AFFORD A CELL PHONE AND I TOLD HER THAT WAS NONE OF ANYONES BUSINESS THAT I WAS TRYING TO WORK WTH HER AND SHE DID NOT CARE TO WORK WITH ME AND SHE ASKED ME IF I WANTED THEM TO PROCEED WITH ACTIONS AND I TOLD HER YES TO TAKE ME TO COURT AND I HUNG UP ON HER. PEOPLE ARE UNREAL. THEY THINK THEY CAN BULLY YOU AND YOU WILL DO WHAT THEY SAY. GUESS WHAT. HEY ARE MESSING WITH THE WRONG PERSON

This is for Comenity Bank's Recovery department.  They are the credit card issuer of Victoria's Secret, Gander Mountain and other credit cards.  They are located in Columbus, Ohio.

They are not a debt collector but an original creditor trying to collect a debt.

I had a voicemail from a company who called and left a message stating that if I didn't have an attorney then I needed to contact them immediately and the call was being recorded so that the call could be tracked.  The number on my caller ID was 614-729-7501 but likely not owned such as a Google number.  The number to call back was 800-695-7444 x 1227507  

He did not state what firm he was calling from, his name, what the issue was about.  In reality, legal matters must be delivered in writing to be "served" for any lawsuit if I'm not mistaken.  They are using illegal practices

I've delt with [***] like this before, threatening my wife with jail time. I recorded the calls and uploaded a copy of the MP3's for my local law enforcement agency. Needless to say, we received no further trouble from them. Now we have another group of scam artists targeting me. I'm gonna have fun putting them out of business.

Call to someone from a Ms Capilliiton who asked if an attorney represented her, and if she doesn't return the call that the decision will be made.

I just received a call from this and got the same message that if I didn't have an attorney or called back he was gonna have to take actions that would affect me. I just don't understand what his name is but at the end he sounds like darth vader lol. I know I have some bill over due but not because I want but because I have no other choice with the economy today couldn't afford it no more, I don't think they are gonna spend lots of money on a very little debt they will lose more that way. But oh well they can keep threatening the more I can also report good thing they leave messages.

I got a call from this number I've been getting them for a year now.I never answer or call back because no one states what the matter is for and no one states who they work for. I am sorry but if you can't even say what company you are for or what company you are collecting for then I am not going to answer or call you back. I don't know who this is but all my accounts are now closed so I do not understand what this is for.

Today I received three calls from someone listed as "Unknown," the first two were hang-ups - I would say "Hello?" a couple times, hear someone rustling around, then they'd hang up. The third time I let it go to voice mail, and they left a message, with a pretty fake name ("Miss Cass") and claiming they had a "matter" I was required by law to contact them about immediately. They said I must retain a lawyer or call them by 10:00 PM, or else they would make a decision that would affect the rest of my life. The number given was 800-695-7444, which online info says is Redline Recovery Services, not that I'd know from the message because they won't tell you who they are. (Sure, seems legit.) Given how much this sounds like a threat, I'm not surprised it's a debt collector. But they are operating outside of the law, because they didn't reveal the company they work for, and didn't announce per the Fair Debt Collections Act that they were attempting to collect a debt. Online info shows they work for Comenity Bank - I have been disputing a charge on my Roaman's account for months, and have sent them numerous letters, but they ignore them all. They just left messages constantly insisting I call them back, which I won't do -- per the FDCA, calling a creditor does not protect your own rights.  It doesn't surprise me that Comenity is resorting to fake legal threats. They are a shady, shady business. I wouldn't recommend dealing with Redline either -- look them up online to see why.

This is a collection from victoria's secret (comenity connection) . They are very rude and accuse you that you still owe them money when the account has been paid off.
Also threatens to send it to a collection agency and to a lawyer.  When they call you the caller id is unknown

Someone called my brothers house and said he was an Attorney Mullins and was calling regarding a case that was forwarded to his office and that if I wasn't represented by an Attorney that he needs to hear from me by tomorrow. 800-695-7444 Ext. 1227616. They had called my cell but didn't leave a number or message. I Googled the number and it showed up as being from World Financial Network National Bank, and when I called it later when I got to work, offices were closed. Trying to make it sound like it's some URGENT matter, bill collector. When I did try to make a payment online (for lower service charge), it wouldn't let me and kept telling me my information didn't match up.??

I received a message from 800 695-7444 ext 1277538 from Mike. He also called my mother's cell phone from a restricted number and left a message. I called back, he said he was from Comenity Bank and did I have my debit card handy.  I told him no, wanted to know what he was trying to collect and he said a letter was sent,,which I never received. I asked if he could send it to my email, he refused. He was rude and refused to give me any information. The message he left said "he was getting ready to make a decision that would directly affect my life". Reporting him to the FTC and Attorney Generals office. Very poor customer service!

Mrs. Schneider Called saying either my attorney or me need to call by 1 or she will make a decision that could be life changing. Nothing about who she works for what  matter is about or anything.

call me asking for a lawyer to call or myself to an important matter that was placed in his office otherwise he assumes i am ignoring the matter and he will take matters into his own hands.

Got a call today from Mr. Jones... stating that some "very disturbing information about me" had just come accross his desk and that either myself or my lawyer needed to contact him as soon as possible to resolve the issue.  I could hear the call center in the background... who do they think they're fooling with this ruse??
This is over a $92 balance on a Torid card I used once... in fact, the $92 is charges they added... I paid for what I actually purchased months ago.

Received several calls from a "Private" number that I did not answer.  Then, last night at 8:00 PM received a threatening voice message asking  my daughter -in -law or her Attorney to call to resolve this "situation".  Caller "Mr. Baswell" said if you have an Attorney you must call tonight by 10:00 PM, or I will take steps that will affect your life.  This used to be my son's number, but they asked for my daughter-in-law by her maiden name.  He did not identify the name of the company he was calling from or the nature of his business.
 

Since when does collection agencies threaten with,"have your attorney call me"? Ok,so if my attorney does call you then what? He would laugh at you just as I did. I owe a bill,so what who doesn't owe some type of bill. This woman called my cell phone asked for me and said my attorney needs to contact her about a matter that came in her office today. I could see the caller id when she called said World Financial. I guess they use scare tactics to try and get people to pay.Well,I'll pay when I can and for now I'll just keep blocking their numbers.
