This is a scam. They make it seem like you owe a debt in collections but you don't. Most of us owe debts but in this case it is a scam. They make it seem like it is urgent and also give you a deadline to call back or else. Only scammers do this. Here is the transcript from the message they left me. Key words in caps.

"This message is for xxxxx xxxxx. This is Ms. Phillips calling from Community Bank and I need to speak with you TODAY. If you are represented by an attorney, please have your attorney contact me Today so we can discuss your SITUATION and options that are available for you BEFORE I AM REQUIRED TO MAKE A DECISION THAT MAY DIRECTLY AFFECT YOU. I WILL BE AVAILABLE TO ACCEPT YOUR CALL UNTIL 4:00 PM AT 800-695-7444 ext 127-5020.

Of course, this will be a call I will not be returning. Our phone numbers including cells and our information is public fodder. There are people searching for victims. I screen any number I don't know and almost never answer 800's unless I'm expecting a call back.

A Mr. Robinson just called me and asked if I had a lawyer. I'm not calling back..that's bs

Received a call from Mr. Powell. Wrong number but very threatening message. Requires immediate attention, or have the attorney contact him. Never mentioned the name of the company. 18006957444 ext 1227744

I received a call this afternoon from a Miss Miranda asking for another family member. She said she was from Community bank and this same 800#.1-800-694-1444 . . I called the number back and was asked if I was older or younger than age 50. I pressed #1, for younger and it went into another recording about some life saving life-lock???. I hung up tried again, and the # and a recording saying " you have dialed a number that is not available from your calling area" tried on my cell, after I hung up I could not get through again on that phone. WTH??

I just got a phone call from Specialist Something-or-Other and she went on about did I have an attorney and all of the same things that are listed here.  I work for a law firm and she's a total idiot!  I can't believe this is the actual protocol for a big company like Commenity Bank.  Totally ridiculous!!!

Caller first asked for a "Dawn" then asked me to hold on, then asked for me by name. I confirmed I was that person, then said "This is Commenity Bank calling", I said "Yes, how may I help you?", she said "Oh, you know what, I think this is the wrong number, you have a good weekend."

I got a call from Agent Sparks . I played it to my husdand who is a police officer.  Scam keep threating my Lawyer would love to talk to you..

First a man, then a woman saying that I'd better contact them right away and pay up or expect serious consequences.  No explanation as to what the call is regarding.  I will pay my debt if I know who I owe and how much.  A waste of time.

I keep getting a restricted number that keeps calling me and they finally left me a message saying it was agent flores to call them back at the 800 # so I did and it was saying it wasnt a working number. So they obviously don't have working phones. But idk her ext. Was 1267506 she didn't say a company name she just said an urgent matter that is it.

I received the same phone call exactly except mine was Specialist Duffy at extension 1227706. These people are trying to pass themselves off as government agents or officers of the law. This is bull!

I got a text message from a relative of mine and they told them on the phone that "Specialist James" was looking to contact me or my lawyer, and that it was an "URGENT" message that needed to be addressed by 1 PM that day. The caller's number was 1 800 695 7444 at ext 1227639.
When I called that number back, it prompted me to immediately type in the ext number of the "specialist" who I wish to reach. Then as I get connected the caller picked up. He introduced himself as "Specialist James" and that I needed to be represented by an attorney if I do not wish to handle "This" now.
As I asked him what it was about, he gave me clear and concise info about a credit card that I failed to pay. He then proceeded to ask for my credentials like SS#, Birthday, Name, and Bank Account information. I said no and refused. I told him that I am aware that I am in debt but I will not pay with these terms. I am only going to do payment plan of MY CHOICE! Once I told him that he went on to belittle me about how I got the cards, and they were not paid up to date all with a loud harsh tone.
I then hung up the phone.

If they want to contact me about such issues, it should be via mail.

I believe this to be a scam.

This caller is calling multiple times a day and leaving threatening messages on my VM- telling me that I had better call by 8 PM or have my attorney call.

As everyone else has stated, I received the same call telling me to have my attorney call or a decision would be made that would negatively affect me. They called from a blocked number and did not state their business or the company they're affiliated with. However, I did know this was a call for debt collection. They left an 800 number on my voicemail and told me to call back before 5pm. I called them back because we are actually in the middle of a bankruptcy filing, and form 309A states it is against federal law for a creditor to attempt to collect a debt by any means including phone while there is an active case in the US bankruptcy court. If they break that law, then I am able to take legal action against them resulting in actual and punitive damages. I happily provided her with the name of my attorney, case number, court district and so on. I also informed her of the law, however she swore they had not received notice (bulls***). I will count my call to them as their "official notice" and expect not to hear back from them. If I do, well I guess they'll be the ones paying me.
