    Don't blame Sears.  Blame Citi!

I had nothing but trouble with my Sears Card ever since Citi took over.  Citi had regularly marked my payments as late even when I KNEW they weren't.  I pay my bill IN FULL within 2 days of when I get my statement.  I do that with all bills.  Yet, my check payment was still being marked as late.  Before I started electronically paying, I had gotten to the point that I was sending in my payments return receipt (that starting getting too expensive).  Only when I had proof that they were receiving my payments well in advance of the due date did they refund the 'late' payment fee.

When I started paying electronically, they STILL would mark my payment as late.  I had to pull my bank records along with verification that the transaction was completed more than 10 days before the bill was due.  They refund the 'late' fee every time, but it's a pain in the butt.  I love Sears (the employees know me lol), but I paid it off and only use cash or my other credit cards when I shop there now.  I keep the account open because I have more than 15 years of credit history that I don't want to lose.  When the manager asked me why I don't use my Sears Card anymore (especially when there are great promotions going on), I told him not while Citi holds the account.  He actually apologized and said that he didn't blame me!  It's been over a year since I had a balance on the card (yes, I do still check the statement when it comes in each month to verify that it remains at $0).  8:30 this morning, I get a call from this number and am being told that I am past due.  They had my account number and info and swore up and down that I was 2 days late (that's right.  The statement due date would have been January 31!).  Once I spoke with a supervisor who was apologetic about not knowing how my number was in their queue, the issue was resolved.  But this is ridiculous!

I don't believe it!  No sooner than I hit 'Submit Message' they called from a completely different number about being 2 days past due on my $0 balance account.  Can you believe this?

I'm buying a new house this year and don't want do anything to drop below my 745.  But best believe, after I close on my house, I am canceling this card and will avoid any other accounts handled by them.

About two or three times daily we receive a call from 800-733-1116.  It is very irritating.  If we do answer, there is no response.  We want it blocked from our calls.

    Frustrated
This number is for Citibank/Sears Credit Card.  They offered a payment option to me because I was unable to make my entire payment for the month.  They are STILL harassing me with 4-5 phone calls a day!  Why did they bother to "help" me?

On Saturday 02/19/2011 at 8:14am I received a call from 800-733-1116 (thanks to caller ID).  The woman stated that she was with Sears MasterCard.  She said my payment was due 02/10/2011 and it was now overdue.  She further asked if I had a problem making the payment.  Off the top of my head I didn't recall it being overdue.  Nor did we have any problem making the payment.  I thanked her for bringing the issue to my attention and ended the call.

My wife later pulled the Sears MasterCard Statement which indicated our payment's Transaction Date AND Post Date were made on 02/08/2011.

Should this be labeled as a Deceptive Business Practice?  I could easily see an elderly person or easily confused person falling prey to the caller's helpfulness on an overdue account.

The problem as I see it is that the premise is wrong:  the account WAS NOT OVERDUE.

If the caller is unknowingly relying on faulty data provided by Sears MasterCard then Sears MasterCard is to be deemed the problem.

If the caller (1) sees the proper posted date (2) still calls me (3) tells me my account is in an Overdue Status and (4) wants me to make decisions based upon knowingly inaccurate information then (5) the totality of the circumstances leads me to believe an attempt at a fraudulent business practice is being perpetrated upon me.

Thank Goodness my wife and I still get statements via the mail.  The information on the mailed statement cannot be misread or the data be "manipulated" like it could be if it were just stored in someone's database.

I get calls from these people at 8:14 every morning and again at noon and 8:43pm seven days a week.  The caller only identifies themselves with a first name and when I ask a question as to why they are calling they hangup.

They ask for a person who does not live in my home and I am sick of it.

I got a call from this # @ 8:56 AM, but was not able to take the call. Thank God for caller ID!!  BTW, they did leave a msg, satying they were Sears/Citicard. I owe them, & admit I am late on this month's pmt, but I have an attorney working on a settlement plan too. They are NOT supposed to call me!!!  I will let my attorney know they called- maybe he can get a better settlement from these jerks!! Someone I know said he owed $15K to one credirt card co., & after being the recipient of 5 - 10 harassing calls daily for 4 days, he was able to settle for $3K!!

1 800 733 1116 = Citi's collections dept.  They were calling my number but were looking for someone else.  Seems a deadbeat had my current cell number before me.

I didn't give them any credit card info and they said they'd take my number off this slob's record.

Very rude person, she stated she was calling about an credit card from Sears and wanted to talk to my husband Nate Wiley. I explained who I was and that I am on this account. Well let me tell you was extremely rude. We do have an account and we make large payments to them to pay off our bill without any interest. She hung up on me and also has my personal cell number which I have no idea how this person got this information. So hear me loud this must be a scam. So please post this to warn everyone about this number.

    Thanks,

    Cindy Wiley

Citibank was bailout out by Tarp which was funded by the taxpayer.  Has anyone here got a refund from citibank aka cretin bank?  I did not think so.  Call your senator/congressman/or anyone of the slugs who calims to represent us and tell them you want citibank charged with extortion.  Then sit back and wait until you die from old age because every one of these filthy scum politicians are in bed with the FED and the Banks!

This number calls my house at least 4 times per day. It is Citicards.  I was answewring them at first in which they would ask to speak to my mother who is having financial difficulty. I would ask who was calling and they would say "This is so and so calling on a business matter" or something to that effect. I would say something like "We're not talking to you-stop calling" and hang up. This is all to no avail. They continue calling anyway. I have stopped answering the phone unless I know for sure that the call is legitimate. If I do answer these calls, I pick up the phone, push the "talk" button, put the phone back in its place, and go on about my business. You have to wonder why these people keep at it and at it and at it when it should become obvious to them that they are either going to get cut off,  not going to get an answer,  or not going to get who they want.  No one has told these people that insanity is doing the same thing again and again and expecting a different result. My mom does not have the money or anything close to the money to pay off these people. The constant calls day after day after day after day are not going to change that. It's not like one minute you don't have money and the next minute when they call, the money to pay off the debt is automatically going to appear. Money does not grow on trees nor can you squeeze blood out of a turnip. These people don't know a  "business matter" from a hole in the ground.
