This caller is legit. This is a 3rd party (First Data) that your bank contracts with for fraud protection. They will ask the last 4-digits of your credit card as well as the expiration date and the last 4 digits of your SSN. They will then read back your recent transactions on the card and will ask you to specify if they are fraud or not. If this was not legit and they had access to your bank account already (to read off the recent transactions), they would have no need to call and alert you. The sooner you call them back the more likely the fraudulent transaction will not go through.

It's not a good business model if people are concerned that it's fraud. To create worry for your customers defeats the whole purpose.,IT IS a verified number. My bank hired them to verify the last five transactions, and they are part of Visa services.

Called saying first citizens transaction verification, not first citizens number

We received a call from this number and they left a msg on our voice mail. I called it back and got a person who said she was calling about activity on our debit card. She asked for the last 4 digits which I gave her. then she said it was not my card but my husbands they were calling about so they couldn't talk to me about it. My husband was not available at the time so I said I would give him the message. This was odd because, out of any recent transactions on our debit cards. the only large ones were on my card. I do most of the shopping and pay all the bills.  My husband had only used his for a few small online purchases from companies we deal with all the time. Before calling them back I called our bank. They did not see any reason why our transactions should be in question and suggested that if we called the number back not to give out any personal info, numbers, etc. We decided not to call back after looking the 800 number up online and finding many post regarding this number. The number was 1-800-830-8574

This number is a legitimate number for Visa card services used to verify what get flagged as questionable charges on your debit/credit card. I verified this number with my bank before calling them back and it is the number they have for VISA card services. When I called they just verified purchases. They did not request any more info than the last four digits of my card number. then they listed a few recent transactions and asked me if they were charges I had made. If you have any concerns call your bank to verify the number before you call them. No one should ask for more than your last 4 digits to verify your identity.

Was legit from my bank Wesbanco because I made 3 transactions today.

This is a legit number, I received this call on behalf of Paypal. My call was prompted when someone tried to make a large online purchase with my card. They don't ask for any critical information, just last 4 digits of your card and your phone number is automatically retrieved. If you receive this call its best to call this number back. Again they don't ask for any critical information, just the last 4 digits of the card....they supplied the rest of the information. There is no way someone could scam you with only that amount of information.

They just called me from this number at 5:29pm today, and they had me on hold and no one answered so I hanged up.

This is legit. They called me both at work and at home (since it was the weekend I wasn't at work, obviously) and in their voicemail they said they were calling from my (specific) bank about my (specific) credit card. I called my bank directly and they said they indeed used a 3rd party service, they didn't see anything unusual, but said the service may put a block on my card if they were not contacted. So, when they called my work again - this time while I was there - I answered. It was a person, he stated he was calling regarding my (specific) bank about my (specific) credit card, he did not ask me for any identifying info other than my name which he already had, and told me about the transactions they thought were questionable. I told him they were legit, they were satisfied, and we hung up. So it is a legit 3rd party connected with credit card transaction verifications. Again, I did not give him any SS or acct numbers of any kind, HE told ME about the transactions and I told him yea or nay.

They actually are legit. I admit the quality of the audio is bad and the menus sound very generic. But i called my bank, First National Bank, and they said that the call was approved by them. This number represents a company that works for multiple banks. They specialize in Debit/Credit Card security.

That being said I still wouldn't hand out my personal information over the phone. I usually do it in person.

Caller ID said "Card Services." I answered the call on the third ring but there was nobody on the other end.

i got a couple of robotic calls from this number wanting to check on my credit card purchases. The call came to a phone that I only use to keep away people I do not know. I will check directly with my credit card company
