They called at crazy hours. Finall called them back today. Automated system picks it up but now they seem to have a human coming on the line after a while. Human asked for my phone number to "better assist me". I made it clear I was calling to have the calls stop, they took the number, asked if I also wanted the mailing stopped (that would take 8-10 WEEKS to stop)...I said yes and said the calls would stop immediately. Will keep you guys updated on whether that's true or not.

Number is calling day and night even on weekends, do not leave message. I do not answer 800 or unknown numbers. And where I live only local caller id has names anything from out of area is unknown with number.  Am on the "do not call list either.  So, just decided to google it to find out.  Guess I found out.

I don't answer 800 numbers, and I'm on the do-not-call list. It would seem it's Sears? We don't have an account there, so no reason for them to call. I HATE that toll free numbers don't show who they are.

these people have called me at least 6 times in the last 2 days. they just called me and it is 8:45 pm. i called the number back, it didn't identify who it was, just said if i wanted to leave a voice message, press 1 and to leave a fax message press 2. this is very upsetting to me and my family. i would like them to stop calling me.

6 calls in 24 hrs.  "unknown name"....I also don't answer these types of calls and leave my ringer off.  So they really don't bother me.  It sounds like the "J2 Global Comm" that was calling last week from a different #.  The company runs a fax service.  Looks like they hire a telemarketing firm to drum up business.  Still I can't see how bugging the heck out of people could possible be doing them any  good.

After many of the same call, I called them. Requested that they not ever call again and requested an address to "put it in writing" as this is my 2nd verbal request to stop calling. The rep. was very polite if that can be called a plus.

As is my typical behavior when I see a toll-free incoming call, I did a quick online search. Lo and behold -- the number popped up, with a bunch of snarky comments attached to it. Meanwhile, the caller did NOT leave voice mail. Hmm...

I don't answer 800 numbers, either. And, they left no message. Just out of curiosity, I called the number.  A male voice came on, I assume a recording, and said "lots of women want to talk to you", at which point I hung up not waiting or wanting to hear any more.

I've received at least 14 calls from this number since Nov 21, making it nearly once a day on average (but sometimes they call at least twice in a day, even if they called the day before).  Tonight it was 8:48 pm, and that was the 2nd call today and twice yesterday as well.  I hope I never need to buy from Sears ever again because of this.  Like other people said, they never seem to leave a message.

Am getting calls from this number constantly. Will not pick up since I have caller ID and know when they call. Don't know who they are or what company they are associated with. Am on the Do Not Call Registry.

Every day... several times a day... all whacky times of the day and night. I won't answer an unidentified number... like most of you above. What I've done in the past when people do this is I answer the phone, and if a live person comes on the line...
    1.  I ask them for their name -- insist on it, turn the tables on them
    2.  Ask them for their home telephone number -- insist on it, again turning it around on them.
    3.  I tell them it's only fair that I have their number, since they have my UNLISTED number. I'd like to be able to call THEM all day and bug the daylights out of them. Keep insisting for the caller's personal information. Do this without allowing them to get a word in edgewise.

I bet the calls stop. It's worked for me in the past. I'll be doing this next time this call comes thru.

    They just keeped calling!
I finally called the number back.
It was sears wanting to sell us ext warranty on a camera we bought.
If they would have left a message on my answering machine saying who it was and there business, I would have called them right back. What is with all the secressy?
    Sorry about the spelling.

They have called here 5 times today alone!  I ordered something from the Sears parts website 3 days ago...coincidence ?  I doubt it.  But like everyone else, they never leave a message, just hang up once the machine kicks in.  And like someone else said, if they'd just leave a shrt message saying they were calling to let you know your warranty was due to expire they might get more replies.
I'm also on the "do not call" list.
Incidentally, the parts site asked if you wanted to be contacted with future  stuff from them via email, snail mail and phone (Which I promptly clicked on not to) and after reading something last week about them using spyware unknowingly on the consumers, I should have known better then to give them any of my information.
    Shame on you SEARS!

These people have called twice today!! Hopefully, they won't call again! I don't pick up the phone if it's a 1-800  or 1-888 #.

Yep, this is Sears alright, wanting to sell me an extended warranty.

Even when you tell themn "No, thanks", they STILL keep calling.

A reputable company wouldn't feel that they have to hide their identity -- I'm beginning to wonder about Sears.

It is Sears protection, offering to sell warranties on different appliances.  I have not purchased any appliance from Sears in over 10 years, and if this continues, never will Sears get another penny of my money again.

Just one more thing.  If you like a little of the get em back factor, take the 800-927-2291 number to your closest coin pay phone and call it repeatedly.  As the owner of that 800 number, Sears has to pay $.65 for every call made from a pay phone.  It is the only way that coin phone companies (the few that are left) make any money on callers making toll free calls from pay phones.
