if you call your local store they may not know about this number....often stores are not familiar with other departments such as RM because they simply do not have to be...they also cannot see the same notes we can on the account many times as they use a different noting system.  Just keep that in mind as well if you do want to call the at&t store.

this number calls about once a week never leaves a messaage but will double call you back to back I believe it is a a scam because I get text messages to remind me to pay my bill and it it not paid late so they would have no reason to call me about a late bill. Be careful of people who call you and ask you for info that they should already know. Hang up and call the normal cust. serv. number better safe than sorry

Some of you people are truly morons. They play the odds game. They say your bill is late, some of you that's true, I would hope most are not.
Just because a blind squirrel found a nut doesn't mean its not a scam. Of course it's a scam, they are phishing for your info.

Make them tell you something definite about you, they cannot. Just say, okay, what's my name? They won't even know that.

this is a scam. i have a trac fone and they keep telling me my att bill is ready and can view it online.

THIS is NOT att.  IT'S a 100% SCAM.  They are simply usiing AT&T's phone number as the caller I'd (very easy to do).  Do not give them any info at all.  Now some people might be getting called legitimately, but others are being called by people using that number as the caller I'd.  Either way, if you ever get a call from ANYONE claiming to be from any company, hang up and call the company directly.  Then ask if you were called. This way you'll know for sure it is the company and not a scammer.

Received an email from AT&T collections about a balance on a previous account (changed area codes and the accounts were not linked)

Called the regular at&t number 800-331-0500 to confirm, and this is a legit number.  It's possible to receive a collection call in error.  I did not receive any calls, just an email.

It's just AT&T calling to tell you your bill is overdue.

I've gotten one phone call a day for the past two days.  They don't leave any message and I haven't called back so I can't be sure who they are... but I do have AT&T cell service which is what people are saying this phone number is linked to.

I did receive a text message from AT&T telling me my bill is due, so that's something.

I guess I'm not sure why they don't leave a VM if it's (anyone) looking for money.  They can't be that shy!

Well my bill is NEVER late and this number left a 2 minute long voicemail that was just an annoying loud beep. So I have no clue what it could be.

I too have received the same calls from ATT.  My problem with this is, tho I have service with ATT, I have a bundled package with UVerse and all my bills go through UVerse and not ATT.  If I pay my bill for the entire package which is cell, cable and internet through ATT the full payment is applied only to my cell phone part instead of the whole bill., leaving the remaining balance still due.  Granted this leaves me with a credit on the cell phone part of my bill for the next month, but I still have to come up with extra money because they can't seem to get the billing right.  
So, though it may be a late payment or just a reminder....answer the phone.  It's not someone who is trying to get info out of you that you wouldn't normally give.  They ask for your account number so they can pull up the right account and see what it is that you are paying for.
Answer your phone people....it's safe!

I DONT HAVE AT&T. NEVER HAD IT. IVE BEEN WITH THE SAME COMPANY OR 5 YEARS. MAYBE THEY HAVE THE WRONG #

I have received this on my caller ID but have not returned the call. If they have something to say, then leave a message.

AT&T called me with this # and then I looked at the bill next month to realize they charged me .40 a minute for the call. Geee, at least they could pick up the tab. on their own calls. If your short on minutes DON'T answer.

I sent a txt aug 29 to a friend in my phone and it was recorded as sent HERE instead! He never got it and never got a text from me after that. This is called a SPOOF. Its a form of hacking and has been covered recently as illegal tabloid activity in the press. It may be ATT issued and it may be valid as a number to receive a late payment call but its being used in other ways. Hacking a cell to receive the texts sent is illegal and an invasion of my privacy as protected by my civil rights. My bill was 10 days late and I was getting robot calls but this represents something else using a valid ATT phone number. Google up SPOOF and look at the mechanics.
