they keep calling.....if you answer they do not say anything.....and they do not leave a message

I have been a customer of AT&T for many, many years. The last few have been absolutely disappointing, that is, speaking in a rated G manner instead of the "XXX" it deserves. If anyone mentions the word phone around you, you should immediately tell them not to even consider AT&T. I always pay my bill on the 3rd or the 4th of every month, religously. Granted it is due on the 29th, but I am on SSDisability and pay it as soon as my check electronically hits my bank. AT&T can squeeze money out of a steel safe. I added my mom a cell phone on to my account so she would have one where ever she went. Let me summize: over the last 3 months I have paid them over $500.00 and they want to hound me two days after the due date. This is all I have left with them is the two cells. As soon as my contract is up, they are history.FOREVER

AT&T calling for bill payment.  Legit number.

I just got a call on my cell saying they were from AT&T and that my bill was late, but that I could still make a payment. I stopped them right away and said this is a fraud, they laughed and I hung up.

I get this call 1-2 days after i receive my bill. Have never paid late. I don't get. I will store the # in my phone so I know it is them. It's nothing more than annoying...

AT&T is the biggest JOKE of a phone (other services as well) company!! I don't believe this number is soley AT&T's number, because it's called us even before having service with them. I DO believe that scammers use that router that makes it look like AT&T is calling you. AT&T's customer service is so horrendous that it takes literally hours (usually at least 3) to even begin to clear up any issues with billing. I simply DO NOT believe that they would call me to say I am late....If they did, then why do they NOT SPEAK & HANG UP ON US!!?? RUDE!!!! We need a formal bill in writing if they think we owe them anything!!!!!!!!!

Never give out any part of social security number.

800-947 5096 is NOT a scam. It really is the new A.T.&T.  I called them back. I wondered why they called me because i don't use their service but the representative said they were probably calling to get me to switch to them.  If you are receiving calls from this number and  have service with them it wouldn't hurt to ask them if there is a problem with your account. The people i spoke with were very nice.

if you do not have an account with a.t & t. and want them to not call you , give them a call at
800-331-0500, press 0 for the operator and ask them to put you on their do not solicit list.

I have been reading many of these messages and am amazed at the nearly total ignorance of so many people.  At no time has a representative from this number asked for your total SS number.  They ask for the last 4 digits in order to be sure they are talking to the account holder.  The last 4 digits of your SS number is not enough for someone to steal your identity.

Some have complained that the call comes while they are in class or at work or some other inconvenient time.  AT&T does not know your schedule or what you are doing at any given time.  They just call when your number comes up!

To those who warn you that this is some scam to grab your identity or money and tell you to call some government entity...GET A LIFE!  There are some you have to be careful of but this is not one of them.  I just retired from the telecommunications field and cannot count the number of times I have spoken to idiots who are convinced their life is being taken over by strangers... and yes, even aliens.

Pay your cellular bill, watch your bill to be sure it is correct and just live!  This is not from a company out to get you.N6U4

It IS AT&T and the person complaining about getting the calls when your bill is due the 29th and you pay the 3rd or 4th... You contacted them for services and they are not responsible for you being on SSI. Your bill is late, plain and simple as that.

Also those saying they don't have an account and keep getting the "scam" collections calls. Most likely someone used your number as "their" phone number as a secondary number. I've had this happen right after getting my cell phone. It was a non recycled new number. Turns out since it was a non active number someone that was getting CCs and maxing them out without paying was using the cell number. So the first month after getting the number I was getting numerous collections calls from various companies.
