- Karen replies to CapOne AgentYour job is to get the money period. You will lye to the people threaten with sending the police to their house to arrest them, this is a bold lye. No police department without a warrant for arrest will come to your house and arrest you for being behind on a bill. They must take you to court and get a signed warrant from a judge before anything can happen. When they take you to court you can explain everything to the courts and make sure you write everything down as proof to show courts, record calls if you can. It will help.

- KatOk, I rarely comment on forums like this, but felt compelled to speak up after reading some of the more aggressive comments.
I understand it from both sides. I struggle financially as a single mother NON-STOP and can relate with the choice of feeding family verses paying my bills... BUT, I am not about to play victim. Yes, life sucks and times get tough financially and during those time I get calls incessantly too. Yes, providing for family is of utmost importance. However, blaming a company for trying to collect on a debt that I undoubtedly racked up by my own doing isn't exactly fair. The company isn't in business as a charity. There has got to be a certain amount of personal accountability here. Life sucks and times get tough, but I challege any complainers to look at the purchases made that put you over your credit limit or the way money has been managed that didn't allow payment to be made a couple months in a row (because they don't start calling with just one missed payment, I know first hand).
Look at the purchases... were they ALL necessities? Chances are, the answer is no. But even if they were, the real challenge is to look at the fact that credit was even available in the first place, as a BLESSING. If you don't want calls, do your best not rack up the unnecessary debt to begin with and do everything humanly possible to pay on time reminding yourself that accepting the card, means that we accept the terms for paying back the loan... which exactly what credit cards essentially are, pre-approved loans.
Granted it is easier said than done sometimes, but reality is that an honorable person honors their debts and if they must endure tons of calls because of going through particularly hard times... well, just treat every call as a reminder of the blessing it was to be able to make the purchases in the first place and rest on that until you can get back on track!- Caller: Capital One

- dianeI get daily calls from this company, even on Sundays. I've fell behind on my payment due to moving and the holidays and
have begun to catch it up and they are not satisfied. I even requested that the account be closed and I continue to make
payments until paid in full and they didn't do that. I do not recommend this company to anyone if you don't have an account with these guys don't get one.- Caller: Linda
