been told it's Capitol One (credit card co), and I called and told them to take my name off ! 2 days ago, and today Oct 3 they are calling again.

Well I have never been late or ever paid minimum amount and I called customer services from the back of my card and the lady at Capital one said that they don't call you for any late payment or missed payment,  that it be on your bill. And capital one have never ask for my ss#. So as far as I concern it's a scam.

This # is a scam to get your information.   I had a voicemail left for me several times asking for a name that is not mine.  I called back and it is a "CapitalOne"  automation line.  Asks for "last 4 of card #" and says "try again" , then attempts to ask you for full credit card #.  I hit 0.  Got a live agent who tried to get me to ask me same information, and birthdate and last 4 of social. When I accused them of scam, she got very mean and gave me her "employee ID' and asked that I even check the back of my credit card for the same phone # that I called (which is incorrect).

I tried to call again to enter fake information
"enter last 4"  "try again" "enter full number"
*entered fake #
"let's try your social security #"
*entered fake #
"we found your account!"
transferred to a voicemail for a "debt collection" agency that does not exist.

This is not Capital One calling - it is a fake # trying to get your personal information

i started to count the calls an over the last month or two there has been over 40 calls an counting. every time (hi this is linda) at one point i had to turn my ringer off, i tried blocking but they used another number. cant we sue them for this??????

Capital One is easily found on the internet to send them a stop calling me letter.

We are getting calls from this number literally like 7 times a day, with someone saying something along the lines of "This is Karen from Capitol One, we have been trying to reach you about a personal business matter. Please return this call at 1-800-955-6600. that number again is *Insert number* it has happened as early as 6am and as late as 10pm multiple times a day. We don't answer it as we know it's probably either a scam or otherwise, but we did once or twice and there is someone on the line, but we tell them the person they're looking for is not available or pretend we don't know and hang up.

caller calls at least 9-10 times aday, All hpurs  of the  day. I had a stroke and cant talk that good. they dont  leave a message who is it any ways..

Bill collector, keeps calling for a sally, i dont know any sally's. Maybe sally should pay her freekin bills.....

I have reported the FTC. this is a Capital one FRAUD scam to try to get your identification, SS#, etc.. Capital One said THIS IS NOT THEIR COMPANY. do not answer just report them to the Federal trade commission. they are phishing to steal your identity.

ok, this number(800-955-6600) called my house, i am in the hospital my wife takes care of all the bills and phone calls etc... i understand they cannot discus my account with her but she is on paperwork at capital one saying she is my care taker of the bills.  she check the card status and we sent 150.00 on jan. 6th 2018 they cashed it before due date.  and card is far from limit.  SO TELL ME WHAT COULD THEY BE CALLING REGARDING.  ANY RESPONSES TO THIS YOU CAN REACH ME AT EMAIL ADDRESS, frissianne@yahoo.com

Got a call from this number...silence on the other end other than some background noise. After reading this thread though, I think I may have forgotten to pay one of my Capital One cards earlier this month.

I think it's funny how people are mad at Capital One for wanting them to pay back money that they borrowed. I get that everyone needs to provide for their family and people are struggling....that means you should be able to borrow money, fail to pay it back, and then get angry at the people who lent it to you for wanting it back?

Come on, guys. I've been called by collectors and I've been a collections agent - and I STILL learned the hard way. If you don't have money, don't spend it. Just like you wouldn't buy a car or house you couldn't afford, don't use your credit cards to buy [***] you can't afford.

The collections agents are doing their jobs and the companies that they work for have a right to pay them to do it. If you don't like a particular lender, don't borrow money from them.

Automated recording claiming to be from Capital One and requests a call back to the number, no way to opt out

I get calls everyday some times more, but I have them on block, so when they call my phone doesn't ring.  I do know is calling from this number, but when I get calls that I don't know the first time I answer, if it is a person at the other end and starts talking with out me getting in a word, I put my phone down and let them keep on talking.  When no one answers them back they hang up.  When they hang up I put them on my block call list. So if you have a cell phone, do this it really helps, you don't have to run to get your phone and just finding out it is some SOB.  I all so get call from people that want to take out a loan to go to college.  I'm 66 and don't need to go to school.

The phone only rings once, then they hang up.  Every time!

they call me all day everyday, I even blocked the number but they still can get to the voice mail...

We get multiple calls everyday, this is a business line and there is no message so the calls are deleted. Would like them to stop calling the person who they are trying to reach at their work number.
