- Lisa replies to DcampbellThis is nothing but a big scam. I've received these calls for a few years now threatening me with being placed in jail and them just wishing me luck. LOL I've also received calls from middle-eastern speaking people saying that their names were Tom Williams, Bob Jones, Jim Johnson, blah blah blah saying that they approved my auto loan and they need my account number to start the process.Do not believe any of it. I'm still waiting for the Sheriff to arrive since 2010. I guess he got lost on the way.
- gymmom1958 replies to Shakara Coles| 1 replyI just received a call from a "Special Investigator" and listed a case number. She demanded that my lawyer or I need to call back in 24 hours. I didn't believe her, but I'm glad I'm not the only one with this issue!!
- ThinkAboutIt replies to gymmom1958I have some information that I think you could use-someone on whocallsme compiled everything he could find about these extortionist debt collectors, including how government crime agencies handle complaints, what your rights are and how to defend yourself, and posted it under 8043185476 (”Scam” 23 Dec 11).
Also, I think you could use a call-blocker. See my post on whocallsme under 3059182338. - bigred777These clowns called an upset my mother with some bull [***] [***] account from 6 years ago. i told the clowmn on the phone i have never had an account with Household the guy put me on hold and never came back. when i called back a lady answerwd this time and then got mad when i asked why the hell is she calling my elderly mother and not me directly i have had the same number for 10 years. the lady said that they were hired by Household bank and i told her to no longer call and just take me to court. she was clearly upset and hung up the phone. i called back and asked here why the hell did she hang up and what is the company name she replied United Legal Systems which is more [***] and told me i would received a suppena in the mail.

- PSW replies to wandawoman2437I also received a call to my cell phone 2 days ago stating that the call was for CWH (using initials to protect real names), who happens to be my son-in-law in a different state from which I live. I let the call go to my voicemail since I didn't recognize the number. The man on the other end was also this Williams Oaks guy and said pretty much the same thing to me that he said to you. I then called my daughter whose married to CWH and told her about the call. We googled the number and found this site with all of you who seem to be going through the same thing. I will look into reporting this. Thanks for the heads up everyone!
- MADIThanks to a close friend who told me about this website and thank you all for posting your comments. I had no reason to believe this person as I have never received any mail regarding any court action and I do not have a criminal background.. It is just unbelievable what these people are getting away with. I also got a call from "Special Investigator William Oak" ..left no agency or company name..but the same tactic..Respondent to Court Order, Attorney, Restraining Order, etc.. for what's its worth.., I have filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and Attorney General's Office for my state. I suggest you all do the same. I'm sure there are many more of us out there.. I will not waste my time in attempting to return the call as this just adds fuel to their schemes. Call or email your State Attorney Gen or file an online complaint to Federal Trade Commission ASAP.

- SJ4E replies to Renee Jones| 1 replyThey're calling me on my work phone...not cool! How can I stop these calls? They are really rude and annoying!
- AmandaApparently this scam is still going on. How come it has not been stopped. Dayton is now calling my house for my husband about a bill. When he tries to verify information and can't get anything out of us he becomes EXTREMELY rude.
- Cbranback replies to gawdYou should definitely get ahold of the police and put a fraud alert on your social. If they called you they do have a certain amount of information about you. Please protect yourself!
- Anthony pI to have received the same lines of bs like all here . I want someone to take this matter up , it is wrong that these parasites attack hard working people or the public at large ! Something has to be done to put an end to this ! What I want to here is I'm involved in a class action law suit against this company and I use this term loosely and they are shut down, let them get the court order!

- RJMOur family member in another state got the same type of message about a restraining order and thanks to all of the above posts we will also be ignoring these scammers and if necessary will also contact the authorities. Thank you to all who posted

- WJBI also have been receiving calls from an individual named Brad Peterson. The calls follow the same approach. I have been named a respondent in a legal action and cited a case number. I called the number back (before I googled it) and was placed on hold. After waiting for some time I got smart and remembered Google. My wife mentioned how would our mothers, both in their 80's, have acted getting such a phone call.

- Jody S.Got a call on my cell from an Unavailable ID. He even called my work phone. Stating he was Dayton Austin "special investigator" for United Legal systems. He then gave me a case number and told me I had 24-48hrs to oppose this by contacting my attorrney. He gave me this number to call back and give my case number to their office at (813)-217-5283. I called this number and was answered by an automated system which gave me 4 options of which I tried each one and never got anything except elevator music. I googled United Legal System and found that the BBB will not rate them because they did not have sufficient info to rate this business. They also made the following statement; " This is a company that may require licensing, bonding or registration in order to lawfully do business. BBB encourages you to check witht the appropriate agency to be certain any requirements are currently being met." The BBB file was only opened on 1/23/2012.
These scammers have tried me in the past and I figured them all out using the internet. Thank God, or I may have paid them the first time they tried to scam me. Anyway, they are definitely using a different approach. The accent from Mr. Dayton Austin was not so thick but I could hear many other "special investigators" in the background probably making the same call to many other unassuming victims. I can't wait for them to call me back. I have a brother in law in this county who is a Judge. As soon as I use that line...they pretty much go away for a while. But they do need to be prosecuted and brought to jusctice. I am going to the local police department and make my report.- Caller: United Legal Systems

- TwiltzJust got a call from this number saying they were United Legal System saying there was a complaint filed in court against my husband and we had 48 hours to call back or we will get a subpoena. The number was blocked but this is the number they gave me to call. We have gotten calls like this before and nothing has ever happened. I didn't catch the gentleman's name but he didn't have an axcent like the previous callers did. He was not rude or pushy like in the past but I knew it was a scam when they started talking about going to court because of my husband; he is far to humble and polite to ever have a complaint against him. The gentleman could not give me any more information on the case. I hope this helps to prevent anyone from being victimized in the future.

- DB| 2 repliesI just recieved a call from a guy named Bert Bryant trying to sound like an official from a court of some sort. He said many of the same things. He said I was going to be subpoena'd to court. I ask him what the nature of the matter was. He said they were not given that information- He was just given my information to call me with the message that I was to call this other number. I said, So you work for a third party to locate people but you do not know who or why?" I kept asking questions in a matter of fact tone until he slipped up and said it was a collection type of call and that I would be "subpoena'd to court if I do not call the number back.
I agree with all the above- if it was a legitimate collection, then why would I not be sent something in writing. Why would the collector have a third party with a name like "United Legal Services" tell me it was a legal matter of a law suit against me. I have not been able to find a job since I moved to Florida- so I am a full time student with limited income- that has been paying off as much debt as I possibly can and not incurring any new (because I am fixing to be hit with student loan debt) I cut my landline off because I was getting ton of recorded messages (collections) for people I do not even know- and could not stop the calls from coming. 10 to 15 messages a day, and now someone harassing me and threatening me on my cell phone! UNREAL!- Caller: United Legal System
- DB replies to DBAnd to make matters more complicated- I answer unknown calls because I am currently looking for employment. I do not want to miss a legitimate call because of this!
- NOT GONNA BE A VICTIMThese people called my friend in another state about me. She just so happens to work for an attorney), who called them back and explained the legal system. I then called that 8172175283 number, asked the guy his name....he said "Jamison Walter" (that alone sounds fishy)...I explained to him that I was contacting the local authorities, the BBB and the Florida State's Attorney General office. I may not be the smartest person in the world, but I know how "real" collection processes work, and this is a SCAM. My suggestion is, if everyone files a complaint with the Florida States Attorney General office....maybe something will be done. You can file online for free. Dont' be afraid and always research your options. Google is a great tool to use to look up numbers and see complaints. Next contact the credit bureaus....I have a fraud alert on my credit report, but obviously its not doing the trick....so I need to step it up a notch and see what the credit bureaus have to say about upping my SSN protection. United Legal Systems is a SCAM!
