I just got the same call saying the same thing.  I live in Los Angeles and the number to call is in FL.  I haven't been to FL.  I couldn't possibly have a restraining order against me there.  This has got to be a scam.

First of all I would like to start off by saying I never post on message boards!!! However...enough is enough!This company is rediculous!!!!!!They just called my phone and left a message for my sister! They stated that they are calling regarding  a complaint filed against her and some other rubbish about a restraining order. Okay......this sounds like they are threatening people and leaving detailed information on the wrong number! Therefore,if you received a call from this number contact an Attorney  Make sure you keep your voicemails for evidence and record the call if you are able to.They are violating the fair debt collection practice and they need to be punished. My daughter got same message, looks like a real scam, beware of this number...813=217=5283.

This is a huge SCAM. These are very, very bad people.
They will do anything to scam and get your money.

First it was the East Indian callers now it's these very professional
Scam groups. They call people you know as stated above.  

Don't ever call them back.

my husband got a call on his cell from this company leaving an urget message for a person that we know with the same message everyone is getting about a court hearing. When you call an answering system answers saying you have reached united legal and even gives you options to press. Scary! This time the person calling says her name is Tina Charles and give 813-217-5283 as the call back number. Be ware!

My Mother in law keeps getting calls from these people too.  They said they had a case number and that they had a restraining order too.  This is a bunch of Crap!!!!!!  Why can't these people get arrested for this stupid crap!!!!  The mans name was Brad Johnson and His number was 813-217-8253.  This needs to be stopped!

William Oakes called and stated he was a special investigator.  He called asking for my mother.  How they received my number is not understandable.  Stated the affidavit no. was KLFD2354 and to contact a (813) number.  Stated my mom is to contact her attorney to resolve the restraining order.  
Also stated mom had 24 - 48 hrs to oppose this matter.  I will block the number from my phone to keep them from calling again.

Just got a call from this number United Legal office.. Is this a scam?

Just got a call from William Oaks, giving me this number to call (813-217-5283) referencing a case number regarding United Legal Systems Legal Firm. He told me it was regarding a rrestraining order or something and I needed to call the number to verify they had "the right person". I have gotten phone calls in the past from people with a very thick middle eastern accent. I have reported to the police, county attorney and there is basically nothing that can be done! they also have called my work in the past. I let the switchboard operator know and they have told them I no longer work there.

It is very annoying that these people can call your cell phone and work phone! Where do they even get the information??

I started getting harassing phone calls from these people stating that I took out a payday loan. I was just as rude back as they were to me. After several phone calls I managed to get pieces of information from them. I was told that I took out a payday loan via Internet. It's called paydayloan.com. I connacted the company and they stated to me that there computers were hacked into. What is so scary is I never took a payday loan out. So did someone else try to use my info bc when they called me they had all of my banking info!!! I have notified the police and contacted a lawyer.

Got at call from Tina Charles about a legal matter. Said someone is suing me. Told me to call 813-217-5283 within 48 hours to resolve.  She gave me a case # and when I asked what it was pertaining to, she said she did not have any of the information. I would have to get all of that when I called the number.  This is a scam. I have been dealing with such calls for the last year.  Unfortunatly the first time I ever rec'd a call like this, they scared me and I ended up paying over $700.  I will not be that gullable again.  I have live in Texas and have filed claims with the FTC, TX atty general and FBI. SCAMMMMMMMMM!!!!

Just got call from Tina Charles stating that I was going to be sued, but din't know by whom because she was given the info. I was suppose to call 813-217-5283 and give a case number.
Well if I'm gonna be sued then bring it on. I dont have time to waste. I'm sure who ever is going to sue me has my home address.

These guys are calling on average of 500 people a say.
There getting I assume a few per day at say $300 to $500.

So @ 5 days a week times say $2000 a day.
This scam is getting them at least $10000 a week or half million a year.

Are they paying taxes on this scam.

Some one must stop this. Unreal. And theres many groups doing this.

What a scam and what ashame no one can stop this.

always remember  --unless the financial transaction or debt is with the federal goverment (i.e. tax debt) according to the constitution, one can not be incarcerated for a debt

I just got a call from (312) 265-6974 (an Illinois phone number) that is exactly as these posts read.  "I am special investigator William Oaks.  Your case number is *****.  Forward this message to your attorney.  You have 24-48 hours to respond." etc etc.  And the bit about the restraining order.  I answered the first time I got the call.  I asked him who the bill was for.  "Special Investigator William Oaks" stated it was a file he couldn't get into so he couldn't tell me.  Ummm, red flag right there.  If you are calling me threatening me with arrest, restraining order (which is a huge joke - guess I must be intimidating to these unknown people), then you should have all the details of the case right there at your fingertips.  Reading the posts, If it is on HSBC, I have paid that bill and have proof of that.  I did not answer the phone the second time and do have their very rude message on my saved messaged.

I googled the phone number they left me on the voice mail which is 813-217-5283 (a Florida number).  Now why in the world would you have a case in Florida but yet have some jack [***] from Illinois calling you?  I smell a high heaven scam!

Just had a message from the same number about a family member.  The same B.S. "There is a restraining order against you . . ." blah, blah, blah.  This is a scare tactic, period. They are trying to intimidate and muscle innocent people by manipulating with Fear.  Don't buy into their game.   I agree with the previous posts that these people should be reported.

I just received a call from 813-217-5283 Special Investigator William Bates, he too left a message saying I had a case against me for a Payday Loan that I never paid back, that I owed lots of fees to call him at that # with a case #. I called back and spoke with Jameson Walters, who was very rude because I would not verify my SS# and Address, he told me that I had closed down my checking account after receiving funds from Loan.com...I never received the loan or closed my account..He said I would get a summons soon , that they have had trouble serving me..I told him to bring on the summons, I would see them in court with my bank statements. I have not worked in over 7 months and no one has been to my house to serve me..He hung stright up on me.. I will keep all you good people posted...

At least that's what they told me.  I'm going to report them to their local police.

This caller called me at my place of business and threatened me AT WORK!!! In addition, they threatened that they would have me arrested for some kind of debt that I don't owe. This is illegal and should stopped IMMEDIATELY. My job is at stake.

It is against the law for someone to call and threaten you with arrest and or a restraining order. I got the same call today from a Darlene Green with a case # First of all if you were actually being sued then you would be notified via certified mail or a sheriff would come to your door with a summons to appear. I volunteer at our local courthouse and all civil court numbers start with the letters: CV not EVCL-# This is a total scam and I believe it is from a scammer who bought phone# or bad debts and trying to make a buck, since when can you pay a debt over the phone with a credit card after you supposedly have been sued. I will be reporting this to my State Attorney's Office
