They just called my cell phone and told me that I was being sued and needed to call this number and gave me a case number.  They identify themselves as United Legal Systems.  I almost called but did not after seeing all the stuff here.  I am closing on a house in 6 weeks so I guess I will find out then if it is legitimate.  When they did all of the pre-approval and I got my free credit reports a few weeks ago, there sure was nothing on there.

Today, I received a threatening phone call from a Tina Charles at 813-217-5283, when I returned the call a guy took my call and told me I had an outstanding warrant for a bill with HSBC.  I have never done business with HSBC.  Very rude and nasty.  I will put a fraud alert on my credit report

I have also been recieving calls just like everyone else. They keep saying that a deputy is going to be at my house and at my place of employment....where are they? Still no shows for a deputy. They have also called my father out of state, along with my cell phone, and my step moms house. Some one needs to stop them. These debts are not real.

I too received a call from these people, only the guy said his name was Brian Walker. Same number 813-217-5283. Couldn't give me the account number of the claim, he said I would have to call the company it originated from, which he couldn't give me either. I am in Kentucky and received this call. The company name he gave was United Legal Systems.This is ridiculous. I work hard for my money. I do owe some hospital bills but, they are on a payment plan. Hopefully someone can stop this criminal.

PRETENDING TO BE LAW ENFORCEMENT. LMAO...what a joke these pppl are. if they are calling you re someone else, simply tell them you are not legally bound and you are going to file a complaint with the State AG. tell them, stop calling you, remove your number. then hang up. if you feel so inclined, tell the dude he is a loser pretending to be an attorney. lol.

I just got a call telling me that I needed to call within 24-48hrs with my ref. # provided b/c I have a lawsuit out on me for a collection thru a company I have no idea who it is and I have never even had dealings with.  They have told me that if I do not call back that papers will be served.  This is not the first time that I have been threatened by this company.  It happened last year also for the same exact company.

Oh My gosh, these people called my parents home and my neighbor and told them that I needed to call them concerning a leaga action and a restraining order. I called 813 217 5283 and was told that I took out a payday loan over the internet 6 years ago and failed to pay it back and now I owed over 1000.00 bucks, I was scared and set up payment arrangement to stay out of court. Now I think that this is scam. Any suggestions on what I need to do? This is crazy, I received calls the same day from another company stating the same thing.

I received a call from this number today stating that I or my attorney must contact them within 24 hours or there would be a restraining order issued against me.I had been named in a suit and must respond immediately or face consequences. I have no clue what this is about.

I have received this calls also.  Mine was from someone named Sarah Crouse (sp).  I began questioning her about the source of this alleged loan and she hung up on me.  I called it back and raised hell and she hung up on me.  I called back and told her that what she is doing is a scam and I will report to the BBB and my lawyer and she said that they will send me the summons and I told her that was impossible because the address she has is no longer mine and did she want the new address because I want to see this alleged summons and she said they will get it through my social security number and I said you do that and I will get this to my lawyer.  Needless to say, she hung up on me again.  Do they think everyone is a fool?  Please do not send these people any money.

It is definitely a scam.  You probably never had a payday loan 6 years ago  Please do something to stop the payment action.  If you set it with your bank account, notify your bank and stop payment.  But be aware that they have your information on file, so please get advice from the bank/

Do not call back? This is a scam. Don't let them intimidate you. Tell them you are going to give the summons to your lawyer when you receive it.

I got a call the same day and they called my parent's house as well. I assumed it was a scam at first but when they called my parent's home I was concerned. After reading your post I think my first hunch was right with it being a scam.

I received a phone call today at 9:52 am they left a message to call them back with a case number at that there was a restraining order against me.  When I called back this evening after work, they were very nasty.  They were with a company called United Legeal System and they have been retained by Embarq to collect a debt I owe from 2006.  I mentioned I have no debt with them and he got nastier.  He stated that three letters were sent to me regarding this matter, I said I received none.  He said that I could pay half of the debt owed now to avoid or settle the debt or it would go in front of a judge.  I said again I did not get the letters nor do I owe Embarq anything.  He raised his voice again and stated loudly and rudely "did you listen to what I just said?"  I said well I am currently in active chapter 13 bankruptcy and will be contacting my lawyer regarding this.  He slammed the phone on me...   BIG TIME SCAM!!!!  I will be letting the Florida Attorney General know about this. Wow.....

In addition:  They just called my ex-husband who I have been divorced from for 11 years!!!  They stated they debt was opened in 2006 - me and him would have been divorced for 6 years!!!

I just got a call from this number.  Cindy Mitchell, who said she was a special investigator, left a message.  Though garbled I believe she said somethinga about a restraining order and money owed and that I was named as a respondent in a law suit.  She said I had 24 - 48 hours to respond to an Order to Show Cause.  She said my claim number was ERYE1524 and that I should give my attorney all this information.   I can't for the life of me figure out who I owe money to!  

I called the number she left immediately (I received the message on my home land line). Here's what the tape recorded message says:   "You've reached the office of  Untied Legal System.  If your calling in regard to restrained bank account or seized asset press one; if yourof a message left advising you of a a pending legal action or court order; if you want to settle a matter in lieu of court action press 3; if you know your party's extension press 4."  Hmmm, "if you want to settle out of court" ??? Sounds like a scam to me.  And I feel better having read the other comments here.

I can't for the life of me figure out who I owe money to!  But why wouldn't this complaint or action be mailed to my house with a proper proof of service IF indeed anyone is suing me.

PS!  Call the FTC 1-877-382-4357 and report your experience with these scammers.  Hopefully the FTC will shut them down!

Funny how all the debts were from 2006 in these calls!  Or "6 years ago" keeps popping up......

the same number was left on my voice mail telling me to call and that some one had filed a complaint against me and they are going to order a restraining order on my checking account and garnish wages in court i had 24 to 48 hours for me or my attorney to contact them i called them and they have my ss number my old bank account number as well as my physical address and e-mail address and full name
they say i owe 1011.37 for a pay day loan they could not tell me witch pay day loan company it was and the actual amount of the loan deposit so i played along with them asking who i send payments to and that i would pay 20 dollars a month and he said we will see you in court and hung up
the company name is UNITED LEGAL SYSTEM i could not find them any where on the web not even in white pages or yellow book the phone number is unlisted so im assuming its a magic jack number
i called FTC and filed a report they told me its more than likely a scam i had a similar situation in my e-mail saying they were going to debit my checking account for 535 dollars they had all my info in my e-mail and it was all correct that company name was UNITED CASH ADVANCE i see a link to these two company they both start with UNITED

i too got a call from UNITED LEGAL SYSTEMS with a request to call 8132175283 they wanted 1011.13 or they were going to send the sheriff and serve me papers to appear in court they had all my info so i called SSA,FTC,FBI,IRS,AS WELL AS MY HOME ATTORNEY GENERAL AND FLORIDA ATTORNEY GENERAL i also put a fraud alert with the 3 majior credit beuras after i did all this i decided to have fun with them and constantly call them and impersonate other people telling them that i want to pay up but give them hell and tell them they are busted
