Well, we've graduated from Joseph Hatch calling fram Austin Texas number of 210-892-1235 to Williams Oakes ( Willaim Oaks ) calling from Tampa, Florida CELL PHONE at 813-217-5283.  Once again, no information provided although a bunch of absurd threats about restraining orders, etc.

I'm still waiting for the subpoena that Joe Hatch promised me from Texas.  Really.  A restraining order is a legal order to to keep people away from someone or something, usually in conjunction with fear of violence or harassment.  Neither which I've had inclination or time to do to anyone in my lifetime.  I hope this "restraining order" is for something useful...like keeping me away from dirty dishes or clothes, which are quite offensive.  Or flatulence--that would be nice.  Or pet pooh.  ~~Calgon, keep me AWAY!

What I am NOT going to do is call these fools back.  Why allow someone to harass you on your own dime when they won't even provide a postal address?  If YOU call THEM, they can say whatever they want--YOU CALLED! FREE SPEECH!

But I'm REALLY offended I didn't get my subpoena!  IT's been two weeks!  The angry little man ( Joseph Hatch ) on the other end of the phone PROMISED!   WHAT court was it filed in again?

It WOULD be nice to know what I am alleged to have done.  No-one with a legitimate case makes a vague phone call WITHOUT CLARIFYING THE MATTER.  A real attorney simply sends out the paperwork!  Then again, that would require a U.S. Postal address--something NO fraudster will send because IT CAN MAKE HIM/HER LIABLE FOR HARASSMENT and/or FRAUD UNDER FEDERAL UNITED STATES LAW.

SAVE YOUR RECORDINGS, and call the state better business bureau from which the call originated--then call the FCC.  GO FEDERAL, YAY!

    YES.

    It is a scam.

Real attorneys send notices through the United States Postal Service.

Scammers who may be subject to criminal arrest or penalties for making threats through the mail DO NOT.

Refuse mail from private carriers.  Request US postal, and give a NON-PERSONAL address.

REALIZE that these guys have minimal information and have paid to get your personal info and contacts.  DO NOT GIVE OUT OR VERIFY ANY PERSONAL INFO!!!

These people are scam artist. They buy information from information from places that you may have tried to apply for an online loan from or entered your information thinking that it was legitimate. Then they call you and tell you that there is pending legal action against you unless you pay. This is a SCAM! If they call again tell them that you will see them in court!

Recieved similar message. a legitimate collection agency will not use these tactics as it is a violation of the FAIR DEBT COLLECTION PRACTICES ACT. If any of you happen to speak to one of these representitives, mention the afore mentioned statute. After that do not waste another moment with them, just hang up. Get an updated copy of your credit report from all three sources. Submit an entry explaining what transpired.
You can contact the states attorney office but they are back logged with complaints and enforcement is week (which is why this company is getting away with this)
Companies like these are the last resort for collecting a supposed debt. If it was a legitimate debt, or debt involving a large sum, previous collection efforts would have either attached an asset or garnished wages.

IT IS ILLEGAL TO THREATEN ARREST ON THE COLLECTION OF A DEBT. So friends dont be worried and dont waste a minute of time or one ounce of energy arguing with these fools. they know what they are doing is illegal... they are just able to get away with it.

I received a call from this number also.  Didn't answer because the number was not avialable.  The name left in the message was Sara Crawford.  Another name was mentioned Joy Mathis, but not sure how this person's name became a part of the message.  The message was something about a restraining order and contacting my lawyer immediately with this information.  I am not a stalker and haven't had any domestic issues with anyone so I figured that there was no restraining order against me and if there was I'm sure my subpoena would not be served to me over the phone on a voice message.  This is the second call I have received like this in the last two months, but in the past I have received other scam calls.  Pretty much an expert at this point on figuring out the real from the the fake.  Thank you all for posting this information.

Yesterday morning, I received a call from the same number.  A "Mr. Bryan Walker", investigator for United Legal Systems stated, in a deep, tough voice that I, too, was about to have a restraining order put on my bank account and basically if I didn't pay up in 24 - 48 hrs. a warrant for my arrest would be issued.  It was a bit scary at first until he asked me to hold the line.  When he returned, I could hear a little girl's voice in the background so I asked if he worked from home.  He abruptly said NO so I mentioned the child's voice and he said a co-worker  just had a baby and had brought her to work.  I replied that she must be one unusual newborn to already be able to speak in complete sentences.  That's when I said "goodbye" and ended the call.

Thank all of you who have reported a similar event having happened to you.  This has erased any doubt I may have had as to the legality of it all.

Someone called my sister- in-law and stated that I gave them her number. They said I owe them money and had 48 hours to call back. She gave me a claim number. Well first of all I couldn't have given them her number because she have a new number and I didn't even know it...I knew it was a lie because if I owe anyone, they would know my address and phone number...
