They called me too about the same thing, that a court order was out for me and at the end she says good luck.

I received a call from this number a few months ago, from John Ferguson. He left a message stating the exact same thing and to call back or there would be legal action taken on me.  I of course brought the case number to work and spoke with our attorney.  I work for the legal department of a collections agency and we NEVER call to threaten like this.  I showed the attorney the information and he said it was a scam and to keep track of how many times they call and file a complaint w/the local police.  I did just that after 5 or 6 calls to both my home and cell numbers IN ONE DAY (per the FDCPA you can only call 2x in one day per phone number - and only once if you leave a message).  We then took the complaint to the US Atty's office to which we were told we weren't the only ones filing reports for this scam.  

I then received a paniced call from my brother and he was very concerned.  I told him that it was taken care of and that i had nothing to worry about.  He of course, wasn't convinced. I tried calling today, just to see why they keep calling (it had been a few weeks since the first calls) and was on hold for an hour.

I will take my chances and see if the "restraining order" will be placed on me.  So, that means I can't contact them, right? LOL.

I just received a call today in reference to owing a bank $1010 the person who left the call was Tracy Caldwell.  I called and spoke to David Winters in reference to the amount owed.  The phone message that they leave sounds very legitimate, so be careful, but once you ask for documentation they are unable to supply you with that, you know right then and their it's a scam. They buy the information they need to know all about you from a third party. They wanted me to settle for $505.05 and all I had to do was leave my bank card number, I told them I will give them no information until I speak with someone of superiority who can supply me with the documentation that I need, they hung up on me. If they can't supply you with documentation, then it's a scam.

I received a call from this number from a Laurie Robinson. She was looking for my Mother, who has never lived with me or in this state. They asked for my mother using her previous last name (she had been remarried). She has also be deceased for 3 years. Must be a total scam. It was for a restraining order with an affidavit number.

the united legal system called me what a bunch of losers... I call Equifax right away to put a watch on my credit.. so if you get a phone call from 813-217-5283 don't talk to them.. they need to get a real job.. something for nothing.. humm I was right LOSERS..

the calls ae coming from Tampa Florida.. land line .. think I will call down there to the police station and report them.. BUSTED

They keep changing their scam.. call them back and tell them the police are coming for them.. they are in Tampa Florida.. do the reverse phone number look up.. or give it to the cops in Tampa..

People all over Alabama are getting calls from this phone # and 813-217-5283 and a private # regarding Wachovia Bank Checking Accounts. These people are very rude. IT IS A SCAM DO NOT PAY THESE PEOPLE. They are adding over $400.00 to real balance and they are not will to take mailed in payment or check by phone. ALL REAL Collection Companies should be willing to take a payment in the mail and mail you a letter about your account. They should never threaten you about taking you to court or having you arrested. They can state the facts about them being about to take you to court to get a judgment and garnishment if you do not pay but never us it to threaten you to pay.  Please do not pay these people. IF you do pay them you do not get the money back and you will still owe the real company that has your account. i got a phone call today from 813-217-5283 and my husband did too it was a automated message saying im going to get sued and a restraint order was out on me. i called the number and the guy was so damn rude. i just hung up the phone he knew so much aboutme. what do i do ina sitution like this

This is a SCARE tactic.  Credible businesses that collect debts MUST follow certain procedure.  You can't just sue someone and call them and tell them to show up in court. They throw in a bunch of legal terms that mean absolutely nothing! On the chance that you actually are being sued, you have to be LEGALLY notified and then you have a chance to respond (several days from the time you are served depending on where you live). If you really want to know if you are being sued, call your county circuit clerk and see if a lawsuit has been filed against you. For most, you can search records online. Don't let these people scare you with a bunch of legal terms that are just supposed to sound impressive but don't actually mean anything!   Civil investigator is just a job title (fancy debt collector) for someone collecting information in the CHANCE a lawsuit is filed.  I'd rather be sued than be bullied.

Oh, and they know so much about you because they have files on you full of public information and there are companies that sell your information.  Always ask for documentation!!!

I received the same message from (813)217-5283.The women callin sid her name is special agent Kary Williams.I'm a federal employee for may yrs now and believe ,at this time I could recognized "special agents".I will way for the deputy.

This happen to my daughter and she call FBI and notified what is happening but still waiting for the result.

I recieved a call, luckily on our answering machine. It claimed I had 24 to 48 hours to respond to this call. They said that a restraining order was being filed and gave me a case number and all. This number is in Florida while I live in Texas. I knew something was up, so I looked it up on the internet and found this is some type of scam. I will not be calling the phone number to respond.

I just got a call from this number earlier to my cell phone today speaking about a lawsuit against me for attempting to defraud a bank from 2009! Really??? When I called back the guy I spoke with was very rude and said since you don't know what I'm talking about I'll just send it to the lawyers and you'll get a subpeona in 6-10 days and HUNG UP the phone!!!! I called back trying to obtain  more info for what it was even about, the SAME guy answered the phone. He hung up again while I was trying to get info! I guess I'll see what happens in 6-10 days!!!! My opinion SCAM!!!!! But there has to be something that we can do about it.

Caller said his name was David Waters.  Wanted a Show Cause & something about a restraint order.  Am ignoring them.

I continue to receive calls from this number asking for "Shawn Loomis."  That is not my name.  When I speak with a representative - they are rude, refuse to identify their company, and refuse to provide any information regarding confirming recognition that I am not "Shawn Loomis."  The call threatens that an Order to Show Cause "OSC" is pending for a Temporary Restraining Order ("TRO").

got a call from this saying I am involved in a legal matter and a restraining order is issued on me.. i must call back in 24-48 hrs .... number comes back to LARAMAR GROUP in Tampa Fla.. have never been to florida..

THIS IS A FRAUD, DO NOT GIVE ANY INFORMATION. I am an Attorney who has worked for a federal agency that regulates financial institutions and have NEVER been sued, and have a near perfect credit rating.

I got the same call. If you do decide to speak personally with these scammers, feel free to vent every frustration that you ever thought that you ever had and curse these snakes back under the hell where they belong.

My mom texted me and said a woman by the name of Lynn White called her saying someone filed a lawsuit against me and I needed to resolve it immediatley and gave her the case #. Isn't this illegal?
