Wow thanks for all the info . Got a call from them today re lein we placed on co in TX. They sound very official on phone but obviously are not. Glad I did a search before talking to them. Is this same co you are dealing with?

Here's how GWK Services (and MMS used to) work:

A bunch of college kids search through lien database all over the U.S. for leads and then report to a man by the name of Reggie Capshaw.  Reggie gets as much info he can about who filed the lien and then sends them to be input into the system.  This information goes to Jim (James Guignard), Steve's brother, who enters the lien info into a pirated copy of ACT! (a database program).

 The ACT! database is then accessed by the "callers".  These are the guys make the initial contact with your secretaries and act like they have important information for you.  Sometimes they will say that money owed to your company was found during an asset liability report.  Other times they will ask if you received the information regarding the creditors committee.  They will try to get a decision maker on the phone and confirm that hte debt is still out there, it's worth more than $10k, and that there were no foreclosures or bankruptcies.  

 Once the lead is considered hot, it is passed on to a closer.  These are the guys that get on the phone and tell you that they have multiple clients going against either the owner of the property or the GC (General Contractor).  They will say that they are forming a creditors committee and that, if you want, they will see if they can get your company included.  There is not a creditors committee, they do not have any other clients going against the GC or owner, they do not handle anyone's receivables.  They will say anything to get you to sign your debt to them.  In almost every case, THERE IS NOT A CREDITORS COMMITTEE FORMED. If they feel like you might bite but need a little push they escalate things to an STO.  This is a Steve talk off.  Steve Shaw gets on the phone and basically lies until you hang up on him or you promise to sign up with GWK services.  They will pretend to walk to each others office and say things like "I'll have my girl fax it over", but it's just a bunch of sad dudes, sitting in cubicles, in a little room, in a corporate park strip center, in Katy TX.

 Once you sign up your debt goes to the collectors.  These are Joe Quinn, Howard Cox, and Robert Fucile.  These guys will call whoever owes the money and yell, cuss, plead, and beg to get them to pay anything.They are not there to serve the client and collect whats owed, they want to get any dollar amount, no matter how small, into the company and into their pockets.  I believe Robert's official company is Fort Bend Investigations ( http://fortbendinvestigations.law.officelive.com/default.aspx ). Sometimes they use the dreaded DTO or Detective talk off.  That is where one of the collectors, or Steve, will call a company and say they are coming over to take pictures.  When the person on the other end freaks out, they are told that if they want to reschedule or see what it's about, to call this number.  That is how they get he debtors on the phone. Once they get some money promised, it goes back to the closer, the guy who got you to sign up.  They will call you and see exactly how little money you will agree to take.  Once that is done, you release the lien, the money goes to GWK Services and Rebecca Harvey steps in.  It is her job to see how much money is coming in, how much money all the GWK employees get, and how to toss the leftover crumbs to the clients to keep them from suing to get what's owed to them.  Clients are very rarely given the amount promised and many time they never see their money.

 If you are already in bed with GWK Services the best thing to do is to avoid them and deal directly with whoever owes you money.  If GWK is trying to collect from you, do not pay them.  Pay whoever you owe directly.  Just try to raise awareness all over the internet about Steve Shaw and GWK.  If you see a webpage about GWK Services (or MMS ), update it.  Whatever link you used to find this page, click on it a couple of times a day.  The more it is clicked on the higher up it appears on google searches.  Another way to get this higher on search engines is to link to this page.  Reggie Capshaw and his minions flood other links to GWK services so that negative stuff is buried in the search results.  Clicking the link and linking to this page from other sites will combat that.  The most important thing is to keep this page up to date.  If you find any other phone numbers these guys use or new pseudonyms, please post them.  Steve is an interesting case study.  His biggest problem is he can't decide if he want to be a crook or a legitimate business man so he ends up being crappy at both.  Knowing him he'll probably end up an old man, in his 80's, selling speakers from a van in a parking lot.

No, none of these guys are attorneys. They picked up a couple of buzzwords from a legal dictionary and try to sound "official".  Steve has an attorney he uses for whenever he gets sued, but none of the guys that you speak to on the phone are licensed to practice law.  They are all either sad, old debt collectors, or salesmen.  They are car salesmen, speaker salesmen, etc.  Lien enforcement is just the latest thing they latched onto.  They'll milk it until it runs dry, then move on to the next scam.

Who is Robert Shaw?

Ok everyone you need to call Robert Casey at the Dallas branch of the F.B.I. and report these guys,His phone number is 972-559-5000,Also their is another group out their doing the same thing by the name of Tucker,Albin and Aso. .Lets shut them down to! They are also in Texas!

Has anyone out there ever actually spoken to Robert Shaw?  Or is it always "This is Robert Galloway calling on behalf of attorney Robert Shaw"?  I don't know if the dude even exists.  Of course it's hard to keep track of who is who; these guys go through aliases like Steve Guignard goes through alcohol and Xanax.
