- BOSER replies to AnnonThey also asked me to call a toll-free telephone # 1-866-444-4986.
- BOSER replies to BOSERThey also asked me to call a toll-free telephone # 1-866-444-4986.
- BOSER replies to BOSERI just called CITIBANK to let them know that I getting all these calls from this number in Florence, Kentucky asking me to call # 1-866-444-4986. They could not verify whether either number was legitimate, but, the representative did say that my account was past due. I had NO idea that I had missed a payment. So, I am thinking that these calls may, in fact, be legitimate.
The best bet is ALWAYS to call the number on the billing statement, rather than the number on the caller ID or the number they leave on your voice mail. - Kathy replies to Jasonim not either. not over credit or late.
- ChukksonThey call 3 times a day all week long, for the past month. I have never received a message from them
- Uncle FesterTo my surprise this is actually AT&T Universal Visa through Citibank calling and terrorizing customers. I cancelled my card over this, these people are unbelievable. I requested a payment extension, they don't have such an option, every card I've had has this option, but your options with AT&T/Citi are the late payment fee will be waived and you pay the next statement mailed to you, with the late payment penalty lifted, customer rep assured me this is their version of a payment extension, I can have the late payment lifted as requested and get their version of a payment extension, with no problem whatsoever. The only problem with this the morons at AT&T let your account status go into delinquent/unpaid ANYWAY, this then gets added to an internal harassment/terrorization department list where they just keep calling and calling and hanging up on you, several times a day, from early 6AM in my case. Who wants to deal with a company like this?
They don't have a payment extension option, even for someone with a $12,000+ credit limit, who has been a customer for 18yrs, they have some mickey mouse late fee refund, but puts account into delinquent, which then forwards your home phone number to their terrorization department. UNBELIEVABLE! Morons, setup a payment extension option, stop harassing and terrorizing people!
I actually called the customer service number on my card to get someone on the phone, not the number left on the automated terrorization call system they have, so this is definitely AT&T Universal Visa Card through Citibank and their call rep even confirmed it's their internal department making the calls. The best was the rep I called was having a good laugh at my frustration even mocking me and saying sometimes the automatic dialer gets confused and just keeps calling and hanging up, YEA RIGHT, more like you don't pick up and let your voicemail answer it leaves a message, you pick up it hangs up, repeat this like 20 times a day. A simple request to extend the payment due date would have sufficed, but they handled it in such a sloppy unprofessional manner! This company is insane, they've hired a bunch of sadistic lunatics that think up of these strategies and then get a good laugh when you call up horrified cause your phone has been ringing at random and your answering machine is full of messages to call citi cards. The female operator was basically taunting me saying, "you want your phone off the list? really do you? you want it off the list? I can do that for you, you know, take it off the list ... ", then kept trying to make me not cancel the card, repeating the previous approach, "you sure you want to cancel your card? Do you really? You want to cancel your card? I can do that for you, you know, cancel your card." If you have an AT&T Universal or Citi card, my advice is pay them off and cancel them, these people are really sick.- Caller: AT&T Universa Visa Through Citibank

- AnonymIt is a scam. I don't even have a citi account. In fact, I don't have any credit cards and the place I am staying is 100% paid for. I don't owe nobody anything and have had my number for 10 years.
- RobI was in the same boat as many of you. I was getting 3 to 5 hangup calls a day and I don't even have a CitiCard. Here's how you get them to stop. Call the number back. When the automated system asks you for your account number, just push zero. They might ask for you to type in the number again, but keep on hitting zero. Eventually, they will transfer you to an operator. Tell the operator that you keep on getting calls, but you don't own a CitiCard. After apologizing profusely, they will ask you only for your name and the phone number. Then it will take 24 to 48 hours for their system to update, but the calls will stop.
Oh, and for good measure, feel free to file a complaint with the FCC. Tell them that CitiCards is making "abandoned calls."

- BruceGot a call from this phone and at first it sounds like a small child saying hello, then when I said hello again they answered and asked if i was XXX I said yes and then they asked about a Credit Card and asked me to tell them the number. I asked again for the companys name and they heehawed and said citi bank I asked why they needed that and they said they wanted to confirm I was me. Lol I said that I would call the number on the card and let them transfer me to her again and she didnt like that said i would get another person. I told her that was fine because I knew this was a scammer and wanted her name. CLICK

- dave replies to davewell heck, I just called the number back and explained my next call was to the FCC.
it does seem to be some CitiBank / card office according to their recorded message - but the Citi people are mostly jerks anyway if you have their card cut it up.
I say call them often and let them know how you feel - SBCalled twice this morning. One time identifying themselves as Citigroup and problem on my account. The second time, they hung up without saying anything. When I checked my citi account, there was not unusual activity and the account was current.
