They call 3 or 4 times a day with nothing.

This call identifies themselves as Citibank through a recording, I do have two accounts with Citibank. One of my accounts I went slightly over my limit for the first time and thought maybe that was why. I called the number on my card and they said no, they would only call if the payment was late and my account had no notes that anyone affiliated with Citibank was attempting to reach me. They checked the other account and also confirmed Citibank was not trying to reach me. The person I spoke to said at this time (late 2011) they are getting a lot of reports of phishing scams using Citibank's name. Best bet is to always call the number on your card, I have now blocked this caller since Citibank has told me it is not them.

todd, i think you are one of the scammer. this number is a total SCAM.  I have already filed a complaint with FTC and will be calling the phone company servicing that landline number to file a formal complaint.

yeah right....I got calls from this number at 8pm (Pacific time), meaning 10pm (central time). What kind of collection agency works at 10pm??? I honestly think that you are one of the scammer.

Mabe everyone should give them a call, they call you you call them. when they answer ask them "HI! I'm calling (859) 283-8071, is this that number?" when they say yes say thanks! good bye.

This is Citicard's 100%. I haven't paid my bill in 4 months and have no intention of ever paying it as I am filing bankruptcy after the new year. Call upwards of 10 times usually about an hour apart. They only have my cell phone number and was just able to block them using Verizon. They allow up to 5 numbers blocked.

I've noticed on more than one board that you get the exact same message saying this is not a scam in all caps.  It's basically the same as an autodialer used by the scammers.  We've been getting this call constantly with no message left and I know my mother is up to date on her bills and I don't have a citibank card.  If it's not a scam it sure smells like one.

It is Citibank, confirmed.  If you people don't believe it, call the 800# on the back of your card & the reps can confirm they have been calling you.  Its usually for late payment!!

I just received a call from 859-283-8071.  When I answered they hung up......again (has happened multiple times the last week or so).  I called back to the number and it is definitely CitiCards.  I waited on line for about a minute, ignoring all of their prompts.  When the employee picked up I explained that the number they are calling is a place of business.  He said he was trying to reach someone and I didn't recognize the name.  He stated that he would flag my number to have it removed from their autocaller.

All I can say is to call the number back if you do not have a credit card with CitiCards and ask them to take your number out of their automatic dialer.

I got the same thing when I dialed the # back, it's Citibank.  I told them this is a place of business.  She checked the # I was calling from and said that she couldn't tell me who they were trying to call.  I asked her to stop calling then if they weren't going to ask for someone.  She said she would put in a comment not to call. Lets see if that works....

I keep getting these annoying phone calls daily without anyone on the other line.
After reading a few posts I decided to try something different. I disguised my voice to sound elderly and sure enough a man with an Indian accent responded by saying " Hello, Is this Catherine?". I have a pretty deep voice and every time I would answer these people would just hang up. Citi Bank! Stop having your telemarketing group from India call my number. These people are certainly trying to prey on the elderly. Next time they call I'll have a high pitched whistle waiting for them!
