the law should prosecute whoever is trying to scam !  there is enough things going on in our lives yet for some cowards to take advantage of others with identity theft ,,  they called me and tried to my information, when i asked why , the woman told me so they can verify my account, when i refused they hung up.

This is not a scam. It is Citi Bank calling to collect on past due accounts. Citi Bank houses several credit accounts such as Staples, Dell, Office Depot, etc. I just received a call regarding one of our Dell accounts, which was in fact past due. They verify your contact info to make sure you are receiving statements and to make sure your contact info is up-to-date.

I don't care who these people are/claim to be, if they call my cell phone then ask me for my acct. info, FAT chance I am going to take them seriously!  Just so you know: these collection callers are NOT supposed to call your cell phones unless you give them permission to do so.

I am sick of Citi calling me about my accounts. They handle cards for Macys, Zales, NTB, and others. I am going to pay off all my Citi accounts and vow never to own a card issued by them again. They are relentless.

I'm also getting calls at least once a day from these people about some Home Deopt card I don't have and I know its a scam because I've never signed up for a Home Depot card and couldn't get one if I tried because I'm under 18

i get NUMEROUS missed called every single day. from 8 in the morning till 9 at night. i have voice mails with a recording saying that a sales person will be right with me. someone picks up and says hello like 5 times and then hangs up. today was awesome i got one that said that no one was available to help me. why call at all? i'm getting pissed off and the worst part is is that they ALWAYS call me while i'm at work and can't pick up the phone.

I just got a call while I was looking at these posts and decided to answer it.  It was for our Conoco card which is a few days past due.  But like some of the posts I called the number back after work and an automated message asked for my account number.  I am not past due but paying ahead on my Citi Card account.  So i didn't put the number in and it asked again.  Again I didn't put my number in so it went to a message saying this call would be recorded and then it just goes dead.

If I owe I don't mind a reminder phone call but several in a day with no messages left is a little much.  Plus the fact that when you call the numbers back they either do the above or I had one that just said this number is no longer in order.  Why do these companies have to handle late payments this way.  Especially when your account shows you have never been late and have had the account for years.

I keep getting phone calls from this number to my cell phone.  They never leave a message.  I do not answer it.  I don't have any credit cards or anything else to be calling me for.  I don't know who this is calling my cell phone.

I missed a call from this number this morning (it's a Saturday). I then found this message board and read many of the posts. So, when they called back, as they just did, I told them that I don't have a Citi card. The nice lady explained that it was for a Goodyear account I had recently opened and that I had missed my first payment. That rang a bell. I told her that I had received the card, but never did get any statement, and wondered when it would be due. She said the return address on the envelope would have said Citi, and I said I'm sure I would have thought that was junk mail and thrown it out before even opening it. Anyway, as a courtesy, she waived the late fee and set me up on auto pay so that I still get the promo pricing I had originally signed up for (six months, no interest). She was very helpful and polite and I'm glad I didn't just hang up on her or ignore the calls. I would have surely missed out on the promo pricing and incurred many late fees too. By the way, as many of the other posters have indicated, they handle the processing for many Citi cards, which include gas cards, store cards, etc. (kind of like how my Best Buy card is really an HSBC card...).

They call me up to 6 times a day, NEVER say anything when I answer the phone, and have never left a voicemail.  I have no past due account with anyone.

Says Citi card. We are debt free and have no credit cards.

These people have been calling me everyday. I have answered a few times and they hang up. A few times they just asked for me and I said "stop calling me and send your communications by mail" which is the legal thing they are supposed to do if they are a collections agency, but they keep calling. I don't have a shell card or anything else mentioned on this site. I have called my phone company and paid a fee to block this number from my phone. I suggest this as a solution.

Receive calls daily from this number with no messages left.

Said "you're 3 payments behind on your Shell Card".  Don't have one, can't owe anything on it.

could this number quit calling me, i don't have a card with your company. and this is my cell number you are calling. you are wasting my miniutes on my phone. no one will say anything when i do answer.

they call i answer no person on the other line no machine voice to say please wait. i just say please stop calling me and i hang up but they keeeeeep on calling. i don't own a Credit Card with citi card or a shell card. they call i send it to my answer machine and they don't leave a message. but when i call the number back it asked me to enter my CC# well i don't know who you are so how do i give you a number. this is my cell phone so PLEASE STOP CALLING ME. STOP THESE WASTE OF TIME CALLS AND I DON'T HAVE TIME FOR YOUR GAMES.

this number is citigroup that calls mutilple times a day for people how have accounts with goodyear tire
