We keep getting calls from this number. Wouldn't you think they would leave a voice message if they were legit?

This number calls relentlessly but if I do answer they say nothing.  When I don't answer they do not leave a message.  I see from other comments they might be citicard but I don't  use them. If they have a legitimate reason for calling they should leave a message or say something when the person answers.

I get 3 calls per day at least for a dental credit card. They call bright and early on Saturday mornings too---awesome. Oh and trying to use their website to pay is a crock. You can only pay online if your payment is late. Otherwise you're expected to pay by phone and have a $14 service fee for doing a check over the phone.

I just got a call from this number this morning on mycell phone. Luckily I had the ringer turned off. I don't answer from any number I don't recognize and I always run a reverse lookup to get as much information on the number as I can. I just ran this number and it's not for a landline. It is based in Kentucky. Here is the information that comes up:

This number is a cell phone based in Boone, KY and is unpublished.

Called the number directly. Verified my phone number with them. Asked for social and I refused. Asked for birthday and I refused. Asked for address and I refused. Informed them that I do not give that information out over the phone due to being in the military. I was told that they can't help if they can't verify my identity.
I called Citi Group directly and spoke with the same girl. Verified phone and address and they informed me the reason they were calling was because my Zales bill was 5 days late and based on my payment history never being late, they were concerned that I may need help in keeping the account current.

yes i have zales account, it is 1 day late, never heard of a company being concerned that you may need help instead of just wanting their money.

I got call from this number asking for me, but she would not id herself until I id'd myself, so she sarcastically said "thank you" and said she would call back later.  I'll add more as she continues to call.

Called it back, entered "0" for my account number. When I talked to a human being, they said there where two accounts under some other persons name with my phone number (after I gave them my number) when they did a lookup after stating I had no accounts with them. The operator said she was removing my number. If the calls continue, will report again.

my life was pretty good lately, telephonically that is, concerning harrassing scammers.........the worst yet was the breast cancer foundation or whatever and the next worse was the regular cancer foundation......the calls were so numerous i succumbed to cursing and threatening which fell on computer deaf ears anyhow . I told them that their constant calling was giving me cancer.      Eventually i think there were enough complaints and they stopped.   It was heaven .......now these creepy crawling pond scum from kentucky are badgering me and the whole process starts again i see.   YOu all DO realize that we have terrorists right here in our country, who terrorize us mentally with these randome continuous phone calls for their OWN needs, certainly not ours.   I dont have a citi bank account and never did.  and my shell oil card is all paid up always......all we can do at this point is complain and eventually give up shell oil credit cards or citi bank accounts if we have them and reject this number on our caller ids (although the phone will still ring that annoying one time before it rejects ) UGH           always happens this time of year.........

We receive call from this number relentlessly! From just after 7AM to  almost 9 at night.Every day! Sometimes 6 calls an hour !!

I received a phone call from this number at 8:30 am.  It was an automated message asking me to hold for information regarding my citi account.  I hung up. About 12:30 I received another call and when I said hello I heard two women speaking to each other in the background...something about how they shouldn't have called this number.  I have accounts but I knew immediately that this was a scam.  Any reputable company will not call to talk about your account information.

Called and wanted to talk to my husband, they wouldn't tell me what company they were from. Gave me a number for him to call. When he called it, it wasn't a legitimate number, just heard some screeching noise. The number they wanted him to call was 866-609-8098.

We have been receiving 2 to 4 calls a day from this number.  They finally left a message a message saying they were Citicard calling about a Shell account.  We do have a Citicard.  Our Shell card is up to date so have not returned any calls.  Have called 5 times today (1/25) so far.

so i told her nope wrong person because i do not have this card
or shell or antything with them
besides i only have bank of america and that is current

These MoFo's called me about 35 times in the span of 3 or 4 days... no joke. I called the number on my credit card to give them account info, and yet this other number keeps calling me. Either they are outsourced, or they are fraudulent.

Oh, also I would like to mention that they have called me on Sunday mornings as early as 6:15 am, and on CHRISTMAS DAY!!! Absolutely absurd and unprofessional.

Just started getting calls from this number today. I haven't answered the calls and don't intend to. The caller never leaves a message. I don't have a Citicard, or a Mobile card or any other credit card or account that's in arrears or in for collection. My phone number is on the Federal Do Not Call List.

Follow-up to 01/28/10 post: I inadvertantly answered their call today. They were calling someone I've never heard of about a credit card that was past due.

The caller was very polite and respectful, and assurred me that she would remove my number from the account.

If you're not dodging collection yourself, I'd suggest answering the call and telling them to take your number off whatever account they're calling about.

WARNING!!!!!!! These people at this number are professional scam artistes. Do not give them any information at all...your best bet is to just not take the call... or better yet buy a phone that offers a Caller ID - BLOCK CALLER list and save this number to the phone Block list...that was the only way we got rid of them before that they would call at all hours of the day and we were looking to upgrade our phones any ways so it worked out good found a good deal on eBay for the whole set... ours is a PANASONIC KX-TGA931T IT OFFERS TALKING CALLER ID AND THE BLOCK CALLER LIST.

They called me, too but I am current on my account. I am blowing them off.
