Received an early morning call from them - many other frequent calls.  For some strange reason, their call only registers once on my caller ID rather than the 5 or 6 times they have actually called that day - they know this will constitute harrassment so it only shows 1 call.  Does anyone know how they are technically doing this so I can actually record the # of times they are calling?  We LEGITIMATELY left Rogers some two years ago after our contract expired.  We planned it down to the day, called them to let them know of our decision, ASKED to make sure there would be no further charges and were told there would not be, and then even  followed up with a registered letter after they tried to add additional cancellation charges!  We have written to Equifax who then stated THEY felt Rogers had a legit complaint.  Even Equifax did not have a copy of our Registered Letter before even stating the above!  We have to remember that Rogers and Icor are very large volume customers of the Credit Bureaus, so don't think they will unbiasedly help you resolve the issue either.  These companies pay their salaries afterall.   In our Registered Letter we gave Rogers the opportunity of 30 days to respond to the final billing issues to explain the extra charges and provide supporting documentation, i.e., that we had changed our contract by getting a new phone or otherwise "somehow" were breaching our contract in any other manner.  Received nothing in response, except lol, for a phone call asking us to stay with them,  so we paid the final billing minus the unexplained charges that they did not advise us of when we called to confirm the cancellation of our account.  We TOOK these exceptional steps as we had heard from numerous individuals the difficulties they had encountered with Rogers.  If you look at Rogers Better Business Report from that time, they had an abysml "F" rating in dealing with the BBB  concerning complaints, and WE are the problem??????  What we need is a reverse credit bureau of our own where WE can call, not only to review their customer complaint issues, but ALSO have our own collectors harrass THEM until they resolve their customers'  issues.  The Better Business Bureau lacks the teeth to do so, and the Credit Bureau is a one side MONOPOLY.  If fact businesses with such poor Better Business records should not even be allowed membership to the Credit Bureau with such a despicable operational ratings.  It seems if they PAY, they can join...hmmmm.  Fortunately, MOST enlightened lenders have also heard of Rogers tactics and are starting to ignore such ratings on individual credit reports, particularly where the individual has otherwise good credit!!! (Make sure you point this out to the lender - have them run the BBB report).   Until then it seems our only option is to ignore, refuse to pay or acknowledge the debt, and especially not even COMMUNICATE with these nonsensical collection accounts in a united protest. If no one will deal with them,  they will go out of business as the collecting companies will quit using them if they are unsuccessful.  If it goes to court, it stand to reason a judge will certainly look at your otherwise "clean" credit history.  I am sure Judges have had to deal with them too!!!  This will speak volumes without your having to even speak with any of these notoriously unscrupulous companies or the hacks they try to harrass you with.  Pass it along to all you know!

For everyone out there, in most provinces, you cannot be sued after two years.  The collection agencies love to try to collect on these old accounts.  They are hoping you do not know about this limitation - they can only scare you, not act on their threat!.  They will try calling when your account is coming up to the 2 year limit - they are hoping to get you to acknowledge the debt and/or get you to make at least a minimum payment.  That way the 2 year period is again reinstated as you have now legally "acknowledged the debt".  Do not pay any attention to them.  Hang up the phone...it is just that easy.  They "try" to sound authoritative to intimidate you into doing something that is completely not in your best interest.  If it is a legitimate debt in which you got in over your head or layed off in these horrible economic conditions,  paying a minimum payment to these people is NOT going to fix your credit score -  it is only going to increase the amount of time it can be reported on your credit bureau, which is 7 years or re-set the time to where they can NOW sue you.  Do NOT be your own worst enemy. This is why they try so hard to get your birthdate from you - it confirms to them that they are indeed speaking to the debtor.  Confirm nothing!!!!  If you do anything to acknowledge the debt after the two year period, it will now be 9 years that the credit bureau can report this blemish on your credit bureau report.  I have recently spent some time on researching these collection telephone numbers trying to educate those who are unaware of the scams set up by these collection agencies.  I am not in financial trouble, but someone who lived with me is.  This is where I actually started to see how little the average folks do not know about these bottom feeders, and that is why I am making sure I try to post everywhere I can...to educate those in trouble to not to even TALK to them.  Debt collection Agencies are one of the few businesses that makes money in times of economic downturn.!!  Invest in one as a customer, but do not pay one as a debtor!!!!  Do not let them annoy you, harrass you, or ruin your day - hang up, hang up and hang up.  These collection clerks are paid about $10 per hour, and then they make a commission on whatever amount they are able to collect from you.  Your payment is their LIFEBLOOD.  They get very aggressive around the 15th, and end of the month when their commission cheques will be paid.  They will STOP calling you when they know you are on to them - then they will then start harassing someone else - they do not want to waste their collection time trying to collect from someone they know just won't pay or acknowledge them.  Start laughing and hang up on them.  Do not change your phone number or they can call your relatives or neighbours to try to embarrass you by saying you have "skipped" and need to be traced, so don't let them say they have no idea where you are.    Take your land line phone off the hook when their calls would be annoying, ie. after you have gone to bed. If everyone starts being educated as to their scamming ways, they will all soon be out of business due to non payment.  Be part of that.    By the way, most credit lending companies know all about Rogers and the problems they have caused for their customers' credit ratings.  Not too long ago the BBB rated their company an abysmal "F".  They are now trying to improve.  Nonetheless, if they are trying to collect on an old  Rogers account, and your credit is otherwise good, do not even hesitate to bring this situtation up with your lender.  They are very aware of Rogers reputation, and most are willing to overlook this so called "blemish".  It is amazing how Rogers is even allowed access to "the credit bureau" with such a Better Business Bureau history of non compliance.  The credit bureau is now privatized via Equifax, and two other PRIVATE companies.  Rogers and other companies do NOT have to have any morals or ethics to belong to these credit reporting agencies...they only have to pay their fee to be a member.  How sad.  We need to have unethical companies bounced from having access to anyone's credit report.  How do we get that started?? We need to talk to our MP's, etc. and make it well known we expect our reports to be ethically represented by ethical companies.  Our credit reports need strict accuracy and privacy under the privacy legisltation.  Perhaps we should start our own where consumers can rate the lender.  When credit is applied for there should be two reports - a consumers report on the company issuing credit, and the issuing company's report on the borrower.  Perhaps this would create some  balance to the now oneside scales.  We need someone, who is not as expensive as a judge, etc., to ajudicate these situations.  Write to the BBB - they try but it is simply not enough.  Consumers need help to ensure the return of ONE nation wide ethical credit reporting agency, who is not able to be financially bribed by their large "member customers" fees.  In the meantime, hang up, hang up and hang up.  Hope for better financial time returning soon.

Picked up and said "hello". No response, so I repeated myself louder. What sounded like an automated voice said "please hold", and then the line went dead within a few seconds. Sounded like a spam call attempting to verify that my cell number was a real number. I'd really appreciate knowing about some sort of process for dealing with these guys. It is clearly a call with malicious intent.

they call multiple times a day, and in regards to "cat feb 15th" comment  - that they call more aggressively mid and end month that seems to be the case today is friday march 11th and they have called 6 times so far and its only 1045am!!
they are calling about an old Rogers ac and i know this because at first i was trying to co-operate with them and told them i'd send in a payment with 60 days the women agreed and thanked me, then they called again later that day acting totally unaware of the agreement and got rude with me etc... this made me totally lose any trust in fools and i worried that if i sent a payment they'd turn around and claim not to have received it and/or not remove this from my credit report.
The phone that have for me is a cell phone and i downloaded an application so that there calls are disconnected after the 1st ring! LOL "Mr. Number Callblock" it keeps a log of their calls so i can still see when and how often they are calling.
Hopefully soon they will give up because i'm not even going to entertain those low lifes!

This is IQOR Canada Ltd or so they say.  They are a risk management firm, whatever that means and the guy was quite rude who I spoke to.  Anyway... I am extracting some revenge which at least makes me feel good.  I keep calling them at 866-294-1752 and put them on hold when they answer so I don't have to listen to the whinning.  They answer every time so it is quite satisfying to know they are as pissed off as I am.

I have reported them to the Gov't CRTC complaint section but I doubt they will do anything.  As you can tell by the complaints on this site.. they have pissed people off since 2008 so 3 years and still no gov't shutdown.

ICOR has to employ the most uneducated, disrespectable bunch of collectors on the planet.

I have been getting up to 10 phone calls a day from these guys which is illegal.  I am disabled and one female collector who phoned here told me that " it's your own fault you are disabled and it's not my problem"  I hung up on her and she phoned back continually, back to back calls for about a half an hour. Without a word of lie about twenty times within half an hour.

I stopped answering the calls but one day when I had just returned from having surgery at the hospital and had my homecare nurse here she accidently answered one of their calls because she was expecting a return call she made from my house to her boss regarding a question she had about my care.

When she answered they started yelling at her calling her a "liar" when she told them that she was my nurse. She handed the phone to me and when I told them that I could not talk to them now because my nurse was here and only had half an hour to administer my health care they continued screaming at me, YES, screaming at me loud enough that the nurse could hear every word, and said they would sue me and garnishee my wages, demanding that I tell them where I was employed.  Once again for the umpteenth time I told them that I do not work and am on disability which they can't touch and furthermore the old debt they are trying to collect on is well past the limitation date for collecting and the amount they want is at least double what they asked for the first time they phoned.    I do not answer any more calls at all unless I recognize the name of the caller but these guys just do not give up!!!!
