Just recieve a call from this #, they stated; "this is Ann Arber calling on an important matter. We require an immediate return call to 1-866-408-8299  failure to return this call may result in a decision on a file without your input. Once again we require a return call from you between the office hours of 8:30am and 5:00pm est. Our number again is 1-866-408-8299, your response is required."  Now it sounded threatening, and as all the others above I owe no debts, nor am I willing to continue to call back. I did call back and left a message asking them who the H___ they thought they were? Yet, I left no callback #.  I would encourage all people to do that. Leave tons of messages, with no call back #.  Anyway, I believe them to be scammers!!!!

I got another call from them today... I found a way to fight back... REPORT THEM TO THE FCC!

it's Takhar Group like everyone else has said..  but they were collecting on a 10-year old BMG Music Club account.  Crazy!

I called them back from a different phone number this morning, since I don't have direct access to the number they were calling but get voicemail messages on it.  The lady I talked to on the phone was very courteous, she asked if the number I was calling from was the number I was called at, I said no and told her the real number.  She asked me if I was somebody I was not (gave me three names I have heard before form other collection agencies over the phone...previous owners is my guess) and I said no.  She politely said that she was sorry and that she would take my number off of the call list.  So, people, just call them back and find out what they want.

called my cell - no message

Called and left message demanding a call back from someone I've never heard of.  Said they were from 'Tekhart' or something like that.  Reported them to the No Call registry.

i also received a call from this phone today 2-05-09 - the ask for my name and they hook off the phone

get calls from this # 3-4 times a day & have no clue who it is!

Received a call yesterday from the same people.  Who is it?

They have been calling my mother-in-laws house and leaving threatening messages for my husband. Don't know how or why they have her number. When we tried to call back all we got was a quick hello and hang up! What the heck is this?

For all of you who are curious, this collection business has a life of its own. They are trying to collect old receivables that they bought at a discount. The discount depends on how old they are and how many times they have been sold before... that's right... sold before. The company I worked for got a woman to pay for the Britanicas she bought for her 12 year son. He's now 36. 24 years! Since they buy the original info, the original phone # will continue to re-appear and you will go thru it again and again. If you owe it, strike a deal. If you don't, change your phone #.

After being harassed for quite sometime I finally contacted them. They have been calling my number looking for someone else.
Never returning any of the messages I had left asking them to stop calling.
I guess if you owe money to someone they want to harass you, not collect

I've received calls from this number for the last few weekends. What can we do to stop this?

I got a bill from Columbia House DVD Club in November 2008 regarding a delinquent account from 2006.  I called them to clear it up in December and agreed to pay the outstanding amount.  However, my credit card was never charged and today I got a call from 1-866-408-8299.  

It's a collection agency.  They said it was regarding a bill from BMG Music which is Columbia House.  I called Columbia House and sure enough they DID send my account to collections.  Since it was sent to collections I have to call the Takhar Group back to pay off this bill.

I thought I purchased all the movies I needed to back in 2006 and I'm not sure why it took two years to notify me considering my phone and address have not changed since that time. I found the old contract and in the fine, fine print it does specify the additional movie purchase requirement. I think the scam lies with Columbia House DVD Club!

They keep calling my home at all hours of the day and night to call them immediately on an urgent file no company name no other info it SMELLS LIKE A SCAM!!!
