They called again (a machine, of course)... this is the first time I've actually answered... still not really useful... I just get to hear the first couple seconds of the recording that are usually cut off...  so I tried reporting this to the FCC, but they deemed it not a violation of FCC regulations.  So who do we report this to?  It's obviously a scam, as I've read on other sites that this number has been used in phone scams pretending to be things other than a collection agency (which is what they are currently pretending to be).  So this has to be illegal!  But how do we do something about it?  

My next step, since the FCC didn't help, is to report it to the state attorney general.  I suggest we all do this, because it seems like we represent a number of states, and if there were complaints in numerous states, perhaps something can be done about it.  Also, I just got the call today about 7 minutes ago, so they're starting to call on weekends... this is new to me...

I just received a message on my cell about calling Takar  (????) back regarding a judgement against me if I don't return their call.....WTF ??????
WHO are these people ?????? I am sooooo not calling them back as they can use your number (or so I have heard ) to make long distance calls. Not to mention I am not giving them any information as I have never heard of this company.

This is a collection agency.The worst of the worst in collection agencies.
They will harass and browbeat you and try to scare you into paying them.
They also obtain outdated loans and accounts that have already been paid for.
Be very careful about the information you give them as they are VERY dishonest.
If you don't owe anyone money, ignore them & block them. DO NOT CALL THEM BACK

They called, and it was a lady with a stern voice, saying if I didn't call my electronic filing would be in jeopardy.

Left message would not identify themselves or who they were leaving message for. when the call was returned to the number left on message, i got a voice mail, no identification or information  will report them if they continue to call me

I have received several of these very threatening calls in the last two weeks. All my bills are up to date so I don't know what they want. When I called the number, I continued to receive a message that said "all operators are busy". I can't wait to be home when they call. I'm reporting them to my phone carrier as harrassing phone calls! Thanks for posting messages - I thought they were saying "Attack Guard"!

Yes it is BMG they have been calling me for over a year now on $86.00 bucks for two DVD's that they sent me which I returned.  But the good thing is it does not show up on your credit because I didn't put my SS number when I signed up two years ago.  Just ignore the calls, pay them, or change your number.  They won't stop till you pay.  They are with Takhargroup yes.. that is who they use for collection.   Another thing the calls I get show up as unknown.. so I can't block them.

I just got this a call from this number this morning.  They left a voice message saying something about returning their call otherwise a decision will be made on a record without my input.  Any idea what this is about?  Haven't call them back.

This is the second call. I reached someone then. When I asked who they were the woman insisted I give name & phone number. I told her no to put me on to the name (don't remember now) said the person would want to know why I called. Told her whoever it is can call back.  The company name was different then. The undrlying threat was there too.

Called me saying it was an urgent message and to call them back on an important file. Smells like a scam to me they did not know my name its a fishing scam trying to bate people into calling them and getting there info. I don't plan on calling them back. I work at a bank and have seen peoples accounts after they have fallen for these scams they come in crying to try to get there money back. I tell all my customers to be aware of these fishing scams.

They called me today leaving a harrassing message.  I have no idea who this people are, but they left a threatening message on the cell.  I called back but got their machine.   Seems like a scam to me.

this is a collection agency for medical billing my mom passed away 2 years ago and even after sending them a death certificate 4 times, i still get harassing calls at least 3 times a week.These people are rude and unprofessional.u2p8

I just received a voice message on my cell about calling Takar from a female representative today.  When I called back a gentleman answered the phone and identified the company as TAKAR.  I asked what the company’s business was and his reply was that they performed a variety of services and then he asked why I called.  I told him that was the not the right answer, he laughed at me and hung up.  The funny thing is I have two cell phone numbers, one I've had for 5 years, the other for less than and year.  The second number that I've had for less than a year is not associated with any business matters, private or professional, so it was all the more disconcerting that the call to the second, newer number.  I have recently received several calls of this nature from different numbers, all along the same premise.  It is alarming that the nature of these calls is of a harassing nature, have a tone of intimidation (as noted in many of the previous posts I've read), and often contain language threatening your credit status, sense of security and invade your privacy.

called saying this was an important business matter. I have no idea who they are and I am not past due on any payments.

Just got this message on my cell phone's voice mail.

Message length, 15 seconds.  "This is for_______.  Call the office of Stacy Silvers from Takhar Group(sounded like 'Tackard Group'), 8664088299.  _______, this is a serious and urgent matter.  Strongly advised that you return this call."

Not sure what it is about, though they did use my name.  Thanks to this site, I know they are a collections agency.  And a very nasty one from the sound of it.  I'd rather deal with Weltman, Weinberg and Reis.  I don't owe very many people money, so it should be easy to figure out.

They called with urgent message on answering machine late almost 9pm. Called next morning and again in the afternoon.Tthey would not give me any info.  I demanded to know if it was business, credit, money, an offer etc. They would not give me any information and were very rude rude. Funny story, I decided to switch carries to save some money and within 15 minutes of my phone being activated (new number of course) I get a call from this 866-408-8299 number. I answered the first one and the man had asked to speak with someone regarding a tow truck charge in California. Told the man that I had just activated the number and that I did not know whoever it was he was wanting to speak with. The calls stopped for about a week? Luckily, I just have missed calls when I wake up and those really fantastic voice mails regarding an urgent matter, call this number. I've asked already to stop calling, I don't think it's going to happen.

These people call me all the time.  They always leave the same nasty recording about an "immediate callback being required".  I don't have anything in collections and I refuse to call them because I believe it is a scam.

Ok as most people know by now that phone number is for a collection agency.
I work for them and I am going to give you a few tips to protect yourself
and stop the calls if it is not you they are looking for.
First we are not there to make your life more difficult we are a 3rd party collection ageny meaning we are not owed the money we simply collect the money
owed for who it is owed to. Yes we are a credit reporting agency so if you have a debt that you do not pay it can effect your credit score.
Let's start if we have been calling you and you don't know why call back to this number during regular buisness hours. Sorry but until we speak to a person the calls will not stop. When you call in we will ask your name
if it NOT you we will ask a couple of questions to verify that, just bear with the questions as we have a job to do. If it is not you we remove your number from the database.
If it is not you but a person you live with again I'm sorry but state privicy
laws do not allow us to disclose we can be sued. If you are a spouse we can discuss but only in certain states and in some states we need written permission from the person in debt. In the case of a minor (yes minors have debt too) we can speak to either parent.
In the case of a minor the parent is liable for the debt.
If it is you and you admit you owe the debt depending on the amount an arragement can be made to pay it down. If you feel that the debt is in error
ask for the customer service number for the company you owe the debt to and
your file number it is the law and we must provide this to you. If you dispute the amount we will give you a time frame to call back, call us back in that frame it helps your case. If you promise to pay pay then if not call
us to rearrange. If you know you owe and never intend to pay tell us, it will save us time from calling you back. You don't have to be rude about it or snarky. If you just hang up we will keep calling. Deal with the matter. Again
if you do not want to pay tell us nicely will mark you as will not pay and forward it to your credit report and not call back.
Look some collectors are jerks some in my office actually I do not believe you have to be a jerk. Treat me with respect I will do the same. It is not
personal I have a job to do so that I can feed my family. Do I like my job, it's ok but it keeps food on the table. I do not believe I have to insult you.
