Callls every month has left messages from who sounded like "Joe Curtis". Last one's English was so bad I really don't know what the hell she said, but it did have a very heavy nasty sound to it. I don't answer any calls from people I don't know and I'm not calling back. I refuse to talk to these morons.

Called threatening to come serve me papers at work or just take me down to the police station.  I told him I didn't even know what debt he was referring to and he refused to provide me with any documentation showing that I even owe a debt.  Someone has called my Father in Seattle, whom I haven't spoken to in years, with threats to "arrest" me.

Received a phone call at work, nonetheless, and when I listened to the message it was a recorded voice telling me that I needed to call the 877 number and reference a certain case. At the end of the message it said it was a debt collection. HELLO! I have no debt except for my car payment which is through my bank. it's a bunch of malarky if you ask me.

Are you ignorant? Many people on this site are saying that they have either paid their bills or have no outstanding debts. Yet this so called "debt collector" still continues to call. You must work for them.

Well folks..if it worked for them once..they'll do it again.  I have the pleasure of being on "their call list". Again  Ha!  This is a joke.  Do not buy into this.  They really should check their records.  I was on their "call list" years ago and called them out.  I did not and do not have any outstanding debt.  I keep meticulous records.  I almost bought into it the first time.  For all u unknowing people.  Please do not buy into this.  I am sure if u do have

Outstanding debt. Call your local credit bureau or the bbb to figure out what to do about it.  Otherwise. As I do I am sure u have an answering machine.  It just takes a sec to erase the message.  An inconvenience..yes..but doable.

Hello, guys. I had a missed call from this company yesterday. When I checked my voice mail, there was a machine saying that this is a debt collector and this is an attempt to collect a debt. There was a case number too. Well I do not owe money to anybody and I at this moment already knew this was a scam. Anyway I tried to call 5 times back and there was machine asnwering that somebody is on another call or away from his desk....bla bla
I tried to leave a message but it went to a busy tone.
Then they have a method for automatic payment. I decided to try it just to see how much I "owe".
They do not say how much you "owe" you are asked to put your credit card information first...So this is totally unaceptable.
My conclusion....THIS IS A HUGE SCAM SO STAY AWAY.
DONT BOTHER YOURSELF WITH ASNWERING THEM OR PAYING SOMETHING...

Have a good day and please share more information about this company

I received a letter yesterday from Joel Cardis, LLC on a bogus debt. I did my research and found this site and others and find this interesting. Since I work for DHS I think I will make some calls to our PA office and see what the real deal is with this organization. I think I would welcome a call from them, the turn this harassing issue around on them and see how they like it. If in fact they are operating outside of the legal system I am sure a few well placed calls to the DOJ and DOL might help in shutting them down. From what I have read on this thread, no one should be threaten in any manner other than with respect. If you receive any call threating you I recommend you report then to the DOJ and DOL directly.

This is a scam and even if it wasn't they have no legal right to harass you. they must provide full disclosure. if you do have a debt, you can pay it directly to those owed money. These scam artist hit up thousands of people hoping to connect with as few. Even if they are legal, they still must provide full disclosure on who they represent and what monies you own. NEVER give out your credit card to these people, and never pay them directly on anything even if you have a debt. Scam artist work on ripping off honest people, I just can't believe they are still operating this long.

This isn't true, if you have a debt you can legally pay directly to the person owed the money. Second, it is illegal to harass people. Call DOJ or DOL and report them, and please stop asking people to work with them. Unless, you work for them yourself.

Have been getting calls from this number too.  A recent voicemail indicated that it's an important business matter and gave me a reference number.  I did not call them back since I have no debts to be collected.  I only owe a couple hundreds on my macy's card and victoria's secret card.

Don't fall for this people, even if you have an unpaid debt. Your creditor will send you actual letters in the mail. If they call you, they will leave a voice mail and address you by YOUR name. I've been getting harassed by this bottom feeder for a few months. Thank God for the new IOS blocking calls. Hey Joel, you sound like a woman.

Message are left on the answering machine every month or so. But all my bills are current. They leave an id file number to give when I call. Called one day and got their answering machine. I left a message that my attorney would be contacting them.

I have received this call at least twice and have made it a point to look up phone numbers like this prior to any call backs.  This has been a big help and will continue to do so.
