They contacted me about a supposed outstanding bill that my husband accrued.  Thing is, they could not provide me with any information to back up this claim.  When my husband called them back, they are claiming that he owes for a outstanding medical bill...the thing is, MY HUBBY IS ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY AND NEVER SEEN/OWED a DR's BILL IN YEARS!! They were attempting to obtain personal information from us. We didn't fall for it. By the time I was finished with the "legal assistant" on the phone, he sounded as if he was in tears. I ripped him apart and told him that what he's doing is fraud and I could take legal action for harassment. Needless to say, they NEVER called back. They are a FRAUD. DO NOT back off from them. They are liars. Challenge them, they HATE it.

These people use scare tactics to get you to pay. They present it as if you will be in course and lose everything you have. They completely erase any privacy you may have if you are struggling. You may not want the world to know your situation but they will expose you to the world. It's bad enough my job was transferred out of our country and I am out of work.

What's funny is that once you barely start getting back on your feet and out of debt. The credit card companies waste no time trying to get you right back into the place you just got out of.

I don't know what the hell to do about these people! I talked to them multiple times and told them I know about their scam and they keep hanging up on me and then calling back with a different persons name. I have threatened harassment charges on them and filling a lawsuit and they still don't stop calling. I caught one of the woman calling me back with a different name and called her out on it and she mumbled and hung up. Has anyone had any luck getting them to stop calling? I am about to freak out on these people, not that it would do any good because they'll just keep calling but it'll make me feel better.

I have been receiving calls to my home phone several times per day for months now, from the Law offices of Joel Cardis, LLC.  I am the only adult in the household and do not have any outstanding debts.  The number they leave on the voice mail is not a working number so I have no way to tell them to stop calling me.

I received a call from this company or law firm as well and just like so many of you, I looked them up on the internet and found nothing good about this place. I called the original creditors who advised me that they had submitted my account into collections and that they were no longer handling the account. They provided me with a telephone number to call, which was a collection agency Transworld systems. I spoke to an agent at this agency who then advised me that they no longer were handling the account either and that it had been sent to their legal department, they then transferred me to guess who??? The law office of Joel Cardis. I made a payment arrangement with this firm, paid in full and received a letter stating that I have resolved my account along with payment history of all the payments I had made to the firm during the time of the arrangement. Shortly after I received a letter from the original creditors thanking me for paying my bill and offerings of additional services. I like most of you thought they were a scam, but they are not. I also did a little more research and found out that they have been in business for over 25 years, Joel Cardis is a licensed attorney and that they are legally collecting debts for legitimate businesses and companies. How could a scam have these credentials? I wouldn't tell anyone to just give up their financial information upon 1 call from an unknown source, but just to do your homework before you disregard collection calls from an attorneys office as a scam.
