Thanks to all on this site for the advice on how to stop this.  I just send STOP ALL to 88888 on my sons phone and rang on the number you guys gave to get a refund.  Valuable lesson learned - play games on his console not on the internet and NEVER give you mobile number - you are probably signing up for somthing you don't want.

I am a middle aged woman who had just bought a smartphone and decided I wanted to get a ringtone of my own choice.  I saw that Jamster offered free ringtones and chose a classical title and gave my phone number and clicked OK.  The next thing that happened was I got a text to say I had subscribed for £4.50 per month/week cant remember which.  So immediately phoned the number attached to the text.   I helpful lady said I had subsribed but she could unsubscribe me and send a £4.50 cheque to me.  I said to her that I was prepared to still pay the £4.50 as I did want a ringtone - but just didn't want a new one every week!  so asked that she would cancel my subcription.    She offered to text through the ringtone that I  wanted -- she also texted through a second one - and said she would credit me with coupons.  She said I still had two more ringtones I could download before cancelling.  After I finished the call to her, I  then opened up the texts and the ringtones were immediately transferred to my phone ringtone section. . However I never used up the coupons as I wanted to and unsuccessfully tried to download a futher ringtone but stopped that process half way through when it started to appear worryingly as if it was starting a further transaction.

I then texted stopall to 88888 and got a text saying my membership  was stopped.

I have no idea how they will bill the £4.50 but I assume it will appear on my first blackberry monthly bill.

Another worrying thing was that I shut down the internet connection on my blackberry, but only later in the evening, when I tried to shut down the whole phone that Jamster's website appeared - and had been sitting  unclosed behind the scenes of my blackberry.   Carphone warehouse did warn me to make sure I was properly disconnected from the internet after using it so I assume this to be the problem rather than Jamster making it hard for you to disconnect from their site.

In any rate, I wont be using them again.

Just by chance looked at my daughters O2 bill (which I hardly ever do) found a £4.50 bill from 88888 investigation found she went www.flvto.com (something to do with youtube converter for music) instead of sending converted music to windows media player she sent it to phone. Thats where JAMSTER seemed to latch onto it and start charging. Phoned  08701213186 from Jamster web ( German address I note) and spoke to Alex a polite german who spoke good English. H tells me he has now closed `the account' and £4.50 will be refunded. We'll see!

I have been getting messages from 88888 and have been charged. They have taken all the credit i have on my phone which i needed for my credit this month.
When i checked who this was from it came up a site Jamster and realised my grandson had been on my computer, which i was not happy with. But he thought this was FREE.                                      I sent a STOP ALL message to this number.
How can i be sure If i put more credit on my phone that they wont take that ?
A lesson to anyone with kids:

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR SETTINGS FOR PARENTAL CONTROL ARE ON, AND DON'T GIVE THEM ANY PASSWORDS.
    It'll cost YOU a fortune.
