Got a call from this number this morning on my answering machine. A familiar recorded message about
"every boiler having to be undated by 2016". A familiar recording from an unfamiliar number. Now blocked.

Number from another ars*hole about boilers. now blocked on my BT8500 phone with call guardian.  I enjoy looking these numbers up now to report them as they can't make my phone ring. Revenge is sweet.

Actually, most of these are from the same ars*hole and he is up before the JP in Paisley Sheriff Court again today.

Repeated calls about everyone needs a new boiler by next year which is a total lie

We are an elderly couple who are fed-up with these marketing calls. They have been reported to my telephone supplier as nuisance but the calls still keep coming.

The 00 denotes an International call, but the number may well be fake (they usually are).   Yher are sevealmthings youn can do to cut down on calls.  If youn have not alrady done so, register with the Telephone Preference Service which is a FREE service.  This will stop calls from reputable UK companies.  Rogue UK companies will ignore TPS and should be reported to the information Commissioner's Office.  If you have not already got it, get Caller ID on your 'phone.  You can then see the numbers calling you and ignore the ones you don't want. That costs just over £1 per month. Some 'phones give you an "address book" where you can put the numbers of people you want to hear from and give them a different ring tone to normal.  That way you know which calls to answer.  The one, sure, way of stopping all unwanted calls is with a call blocking unit or a call blocking 'phone.  Amazon or Argos have a good selection. As an example the BT8500 'phone costs about £39 and has Call Guardian.  This asks each caller (except those on your contact list) to identify themselves. press # and wait to be put through.  Automated calls can't press buttons and scammers don't like to identify themselves so that cuts down on most calls.  If they do as they are asked, then and only then, does the 'phone ring you and ask if you want the call.  You can then "Allow" the call or "Block" the call. My 'phone has blocked 60+ calls in the five weeks I have had it and the 'phone hasn't even rung.
