00501

Got a call from this number at 12noon today.  Claimed to be from Windows and would like to show me how to correct an error reported.  Wanted me to turn my computer on and link so that they could show me 'in front of my eyes'.  Couldn't tell me which computer had sent the report or what the error was.  Very suspicious, I said I didn't want to do that and they hung up.

Flera av mina familjemedlemmar har blivit uppringda av 00501...när man svarar är det ingen där. Har dock bara gjort det misstaget en gång nu är det blockat av TC (truecaller). Rekommenderar alla att göra detta! Svara INTE!!!

Called me today. A guy with Indian accent and saying he was calling from Microsoft. He told me that I had a computer problem. He said the computer was slow due to downloading a program from them. I said don´t think so and then I just hang up.

Indian guy asked me if my name was simon hamid. I was confused and he said madam are you simon hamid. Obviously not

RING INTE TILLBAKA TILL 00501!!!

Jag blev idag den 19 januari 2012 uppringd av en "Maria" som utgav sig för att vara min mans flickvän, allt för att få mig att ringa tillbaka till 00501 numret. Har kontaktat polisen, de här människorna är bedragare!

Just had a call from 00501, an Indian guy who wanted to tell me that I had a problem with my computer. I realized that he was full of crap and told him that I did´nt want to talk with him anymore.

Got a call from 00501 They claimed to be from "Microsoft service center" or something like that. Indian sounding accent. Said that they had reports that my computer had downloaded some harmful content  every time I connected to the internet. I hung up, since I am in the IT business several warning bells were ringing within seconds. Judging from the different stories on this number it seems as this is a good way to go about your scams without the risk of being traced...

Fick ett samtal från 00501, de hävdade att de ringde från "Microsoft Service Center" eller liknande och att jag varje gång jag gick online med min hemdator fick någon typ av skadliga filer nedladdade. Sa att de nog ringt fel och lade på direkt. Har läst igenom de olika inläggen om detta nummer och det verkar vara ett nummer som kan komma upp när den som ringer använder sig av olika telefonservicar som kan finnas internationellt, exempelvis förbetalda telefonkort. Alltså ett bra sätt att inte bli spårad om man är ute på något fuffens..
Lägg på direkt om de vill att ni ska koppla upp er mot internet och göra olika moment (gå till någon sida, ladda ner ett program, etc.) på datorn!

Got a call at 17:00 today, a guy with indian accent. Said he called from Windows??? Service Center and that I sent a error report to Microsoft while downloading a file last week.
He said he could help me fix the problem. I told him I've already solved the problem and he excused himself and hung up.

00501 me to yeasterday. Said my computor was full of virus..... and they called from microsoft in California.

Jag fick också samtal igår. De försökte två gånger och sa att de ringde från microsoft i Californien påstod att min dator var full av virus och att de ville hjälpa mig att rätta detta. jag stängde av modemet.
Se upp med era datorer.

Got a call from 00501 just now at 1.38 I picked up the phone and there was no-one there.

They called me 1 minute ago, 27 jan and said they were from Windows. That they were getting dangerous error messages from my home computer. We have Five computers in this house..but sure.
I got annoyed since i understood from his poor english that this was fake, i asked his name, his last name, only got Henry out of him, where he called from (California), his address (..dont know why haha) and that i wanted to talk to his supervisor.. he asked what i wanted to ask ?? and i was rude and said GTFO I DONT EVEN HAVE A COMPUTER IN THIS HOUSE
he replied "are you *my mothers name*"
me: No. *Hung up*

GOT A CALL FROM 00501 .. AT 1122PM 27/01/2012 A GIRL WAS ON ANOTHER SIDE JUST SAY HELLO . WHO R U ND DISCONNECT THE PHONE...  SUCH A CRAZY INCIDENT.....

Just got a call from this number, when i took it they just hang up, creepy.

fick också just ett samtal till från detta nummer svarade inte denna gång, på fm svarade jag men det var ingen där. Svara inte!!  Något skumt är det. Ingen har ett sådant nummer i sverige.

I just got a call from this number and the guy was trying to get me to go my computer. Apparently he was calling to assist me with my slow internet problems (which I don't actually have) I've been told there is a dodgy person calling around fishing for peoples personal details, don't be fooled people, its a con!

I was called from this number today just before 1 pm. Could not pick up so was unable to ckeck who's there but consider this number as a scam!!

..forgot to mention,  I live in Ireland

21 feb 2012.had loads of calls from this number fro days also been having several other calls from other numbers it seems that virgin have passed my brand new ex directory number on. i had silent calls from this number but i also spoke to people from this company all strong foreign accents sound very noisy in background ie call center. first man i spoke to said his company called HEALTH P.C  said it was from WINDOWS computer he also said he was from part of MICROSOFT IT SUPPORT..i was quite forceful with him repeating that i wanted to know where he got my number from as i hadnt yet given it out to anybody. he just said my computer had  problems he had received automatic error messages from my microsoft computer and he could give me error codes to rectify problem. i asked how much this would cost as i was suspicious then it was a hard sell and sure enough it would cost £99.99 for 12 month service. or £59.99 for six months. when i asked how much, he put me through to a supervisor but i asked him how they had my details and he hung up on me. ten minutes later first man called me back  saying sorry for loss of call but i put phone down on him. they havent rang again since.

on second call the man asked me if i could go to computer and turn on. i told him computer wasnt in the house at the moment and i couldnt and he got quite upset on the phone then he asked if i had anymore computers in the house. when i said no he lost interest and i asked him where he was calling from he told me HEALTH P.C  100 LONDON ROAD LEICESTER. I  intend to check this address out but havent had chance yet.
