00501 used to call saying they are calling from microsoft....same number calling me now with same indian accent sometimes male/female saying they doing survey to see if your happy with your banking and asking for detail or to go to their website...please don't do this as they take over your computer and any info stored on there,,bank details..personal info..etc

got a call at 2:15 pm today from telephone number 00501 after picking up the phone got what could have been either the engaged tone or a fax .  not had a call from this number before, like to know if this is something new and the reason for the call.

this numbsr also called me around 1400hrs. what is this?

I had a number of missed calls throughout the day, when I was finally in to answer I spoke to a heavily accented male voice, who was particularly difficult to understand and was talking about mobile telephones. I asked in a number of occasions how he got my telephone number, which he kept ignoring, trying to offer me an "unmissable mobile telephone deal" with an unnamed provider. I asked how he got my number and said it was a simple request, at which he put the phone down on me.

I still do not know who he was calling on behalf of.

Got a call from this number today, it was an Indian man asking to speak to me by name, saying he was from a PPI claims company & asking me for details of the loans I've had in the last 10 years.....I asked how he got my number as it's my work phone number & he said from their database...then he asked me for my loan details again & I said I haven't had any, he then asked if I was sure.....? *alarm bells*
As if I'm gonna tell some random person my financial details!!!
After I firmly said NO he hung up

DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE ANY DETAILS WHATSOEVER!!!

I have had a few calls from this number, a Jason told me he had the money for my PPI from a loan from Barclay's Bank, guess what? I dont have a loan from Barclay's, never have, total scammers

we been getting this call all day  telling us there is £2000 waiting for me if we go to a shop and ask for a u cash voucher some one will call and give me £2000 cash i think it is for ppi insurance thanks mick

i too got a call from this no yesterday night 1 o clock..

"Karen Roberts" babbled on, I stopped her, asking "Did you hear my question?  Who are you?"  She spluttered and said NV Utilities and she knew that my electric contract was expiring.  Told her not to ring my number again.

Had a couple of calls from this number today....both were dead when I picked up

We keep getting a call from this unusual number, 00501 too, luckily not at 4am or stupid times, just in the afternoons. We are with Virgin Media, wondering if all who are receiving the calls are too?

This is a call centre, that rings several numbers at once, then whoever picks up first, your hear a gap in the phone line then someone will speak to you as the call is connected, they have been ringing our business for a week solid every hour or so.

From what I could make out of them speaking to me, they are to do with a Utilities company as they were asking about electrical supplier renewal dates. I spoke back to them to say that we were not interested and to remove us from the caller list, but they could not understand me! Best thing to do.. ignore the number, or just pick up and put down the phone quickly.

I asked for the company name to report them but they either don't answer me, hang up, or just start talking on again.

These people are total brainless idiots calling our office up to 10 times a day!!!

this number says it is microsoft wanting to check your computer saying it has faults a scam ,mine has no faults ,but yet they carry on ringing with same message

got a call from this number today asking about missold PPI indicating I had just finished paying  off a loan. Quite odd as I haven't had either a loan or mortgage since before the misselling. It was an indian voice from a call centre probably in Mumbai. I'm getting bombarded at least 3 times a day with these damn calls. Something needs doing about it

Someone rang from this number at 4.23pm on Monday 26th March. No-one was in to answer the call, and no message was left.

Just had a call from this number and they said they were British Gas, asked which energy supplier I was with and I told them British Gas (which is true) and he sounded a litlle surprised. Then asked me how I paid my bills e.g. direct debit, in full etc. and asked me to confirm my postcode. Thanked me for my time and hung up. Thought it sounded a bit suspect as there was a lot of static and background noise and the guy spoke very quickly and loud so rang 1471 and came up with 00501. I know this isn't a British Gas number as being a customer British Gas are always ringing me.

I'm with Virgin Media. Sick of all these calls.

im getting these numbers  day n night rang today with 00501 then 2 minutes later rang back on 0501 who the hell are they ????

They are scammers pretending to be Microsoft Technical Support.  They will ask you to switch on your computer and then gain remote access, if you follow their instructions.  May also offer you cut price security software to get your credit card details, to scam you even more.
