Received 6 calls in 1 hour from this number but as I have 1571 (answer service) it recorded nothing then hung up... I have gone ex-directory and only give my home number out to certain companies but still get these pointless calls Im sure that they sell your information on.

O too am ex directory and still get call but with sky so its not just BT think all companies sell details on. Quite agree Data ptotection Act what a laugh who does it protect answer no one.  My partner tried to pay a utility bill for me but was unable to fo so as 'due to the data protection act the account was not in his name blah blah blah'...he didn;t want any details, balance on the account (which he knew as he had the bill in front of him) just wanted to pay.  They asked to speak to me which I gave him authorisation to speak in my behalf but no I had to give the card detail and then guess what...because the card was not in my name could not accept payment.  Went to the post office and paid over the counter easier.  World has gone mad 1 rule for them and a different set of rule for the rest of us.

Pre-recorded, sounded very authentic.  Told me we were eligible for a pension bonus, included some personal data that was correct - must've been a lucky guess but added to the apparent authenticity.  Said there were only a few days left to claim and to press '5'.   Since it didn't identify the caller, I knew it had to be a scam but was made uneasy by how even I - and I am Ms Skeptical - had had to think hard about whether or not I thought it was bona fide.  So called our local police on 101 - they were completely disinterested as the calling number was not in our area.  I wanted them to put it out in the Neighbourhood Watch bulletins but they waffled on about the cost of producing leaflets and how stretched their budget was and I lost the will to live.  Sorry to any pensioners that get hit by this and are on the Neighbourhood Watch lists.  On pushing the police did say I could call the Action Fraud people on 0300 123 2040.

This was an automated message claiming to improve my pension level as I am under 60 years of age (I'm 65!).  Initially when I tried to 1471 the number their call had jammed my line; after waiting few minutes I used 1471 to identify their number and called it.  Another automated message (which did not identify the company) stated I had received a telesales related call and not to worry and if I wanted to opt out of receiving more calls press 9, which I did.  As my number is registered with the telephone preference service I intend to report the number as it is obviously causing nuisance to many people.

They keep calling me. An automated voice. I pressed 9 to opt out, but they still keep calling. Can't BT or the government stop them?

Firstly, pressing 9 only tells them they have reached a live number.  It does not stop the calls it increases them.  Secondly, the only people who can stop them is us.  All prerecorded calls should be reported to the Information Commissioner's Office.  They are actively working to stop these pests and recently fined two men £440,000 for running this type of operation.   It's easy to report on the ICO website and you don't need the caller's name only the number.  You don't even need to give personal information if you don't want to.  Just hanging up and posting on here will do nothing, we all need to report these calls.

Same recorded message as others hve recd. Girl with geordie accent. didn't press 5 or 9. We all know its a scam TPS useless. When will something be done.

This number called with some garbage about my pension. I hung up, as I know my pension provider would never contact me in such a way. I've signed up for Telephone Preference to block nuisance calls, so these spammers are obviously ignoring the law.

01216672481 phoned about 5.00 this evening.Saying that they owed me £10000 put phone down then it was on answering machine.

At 10.30am 18.02.13 I had a call from this company, but as I was not home they just hung up when my answer machine kicked in.  Getting home I dialled 1571 & the above no. came up.  This is approx 4 calls I have received now during the day.

I keep getting calls from this company, but I no longer answer when I see their number.  On the occasion when I did answer it was just a recorded message telling me I could claim compensation, but I have no idea what for.

A new number for me calling. Started yesterday and again this morning. Automated message saying "press 5 to clarify your bonus, or if we have already paid you press 9 to unsubscribe, this message is urgent press 5 now".  Could be worrying for some. We are registered with TPS and ex-directory.

I received a call (I let it record while monitoring it as I refuse to answer unrecognised numbers). Because according to their "records" I was under 60 (rubbish) I could make a claim (rubbish). Message deleted

Have now reported this number to :  http://www.ico.gov.uk/complaints/marketing.aspx as suggested by others.

yep - just called me - automated message about claiming 1000 pounds of pension money if you are under 60!
I did 1471 and their number was on there, which surprised me! So, I googled the number and saw this forum!

Just had a call, from the [***].... just hit the Block Now button on my Call Blocker, and ZAP!!!    Gone...... this is the first pest call I have had in about a month..... :)

Another pensions pest; probably a premium rate keypad scam as well. It's a different number from last time, but I'll tell the ICO anyway
