Just had 2 calls in 5 mins, recorded message saying about a pension payment due in 6-12 weeks press a key to activate my claim, how many gullible people will fall for this scam, needs to highlighted!!!

I have now had several of these calls, even having pressed '9' - they are such a pain, ringing at the most inconvenient times too!

We have just had an alert via our local Neighbourhood Watch coordinator about similar ones to this, not sure whether it was the exact same one but see text of warning below. Does anyone know if this is actually illegal to put you across to a Premium rate number by "Pressing x" on a call you have not actually initiated. I t was always the rule that you could only be chaged for calls that you initiated. BT cal back on "5" is similar I suppose but always warns that there is likely  to bae a charge.

If you receive a telephone call from a nice friendly sounding person (it
may even be a recorded message) who says:



This is a sales call. Sorry if we have bothered you, but if you don't want
to receive any more calls from us, just press 9 on your phone.

Just hang up. DO NOT press 9, it will put you on a premium rate number. If
you do what the caller suggests you could find a very unpleasant surprise
when your next phone bill arrives!

The clue that it is a scam is that they offer you the opportunity to block
any future calls, before they have even told you what it is they are
selling.

tells me that I am entitled to £1000 payout because of my age - as if!!!  Wish I knew how they got my number.

sam as others, 'your pension may be in line for a bonus' BS. Girl claimed to be from 'Pensions Helpline',  hung up  when I mentioned TPS....

2nd call today slight difference in number, but convinced it's the same annoying company.

Annoying recored ansa message, didn't listen not interested, how can companies do this and infringe my time with unwanted rude annoying persistent calls!! RUDE and should be illegal!

Same as all the other posts above. I had a call yesterday - the third I think in 3 days - with the message about a pension bonus "as I am under 60". Just hung up but then went to 1471 to get the number. Generally I agree with Ken above about the final destination for such nuisances.

This no constantly calls. I am not interested stop calling especially at the wrong times. I am not!!!!! interested when will you get the message.Always waking my grandaughter up just as I get her to sleep.

Called today telling me I could claim some kind of bonus with "my private pension because their records showed I was under 60".

Not a PPI this time but a Recorded call, trying to sound like government department, saying something like,there was something to do with my pension, and I may be owed £1000 if I am under 65, please press 5".
1471 gave me this Birmingham number. I just presumed a scam or sales pitch of some sort.

Why cant something be done re recorded calls? if not and many companies adopt this we will never stop answering our telephones will we?

I'd like to make their lives miserable

I'm sick of receiving calls from this number. I pressed 9 ages ago but they still ring back. keep telling me I'm due to £1,000 and I only have 6 weeks to claim. I wish someone could find out who they are and stop this nonesense!

Getting fed up with this lot, phoned daily for about a week now.

I had one of these calls - not even a person just a recording.  I reported it to Action Fraud, after reading about the scam happening elsewhere.

i've had these calls every day this week, so i'm going to change tack a little and instead of hanging up i'm going to waste AS MUCH OF THEIR TIME AS I POSSIBLY CAN.  i'll play along, answer questions, get them to repeat things and make them as annoyed as i've been getting. i'll give myself 10 points for every minute i can keep them on the phone and have a bit of fun with it. i'd urge others to do the same and lets turn the tables on them.

Just got a call from this number. I answered but as it was a recorded message I hung up immediately. I tried to do 1471 but they were still on the line! If you put the phone down why doesn't it disconnect? Luckily they went after a minute.

BT who own the lines could put a stop to all these scams but of course they choose not to as they are making money out of it themselves.

Sick and tired of these calls they are endless!!! It's about time the phone companies did something to stop them!!!
