I had a call from exact same number couple min ago, didnt answer also wasnt left any message.
dodgy is that this call came in first time now just minutes after i registered for donation at blood.co.uk
obviously from earlier comments about this number it doesnt belong to the helpline of blood.co.uk,but curious why our number was given to other companies then.

I've had several calls from this number on my mobile. I never give out this number to anyone so I wonder where they got it. I most definitely have not used it with any of my bank or insurance providers. Definitely appears to be random dialing scammer.

Just received a call from this number. Was a company wishing to do a customer satisfaction survey on behalf of my bank. Politely advised her I haven't authorised them to release my phone number to 3rd parties and the bank shouldn't have this number anyway for me. The lady apologised and advised me she would remove my number from her list and wished me a nice evening, bless her :)

I received a call from this number 01233648537 this am.  The caller hung up immediately when they heard the words "I am unable to take your call right now... Leave your name and number... And I will get back to you" message standard for answer phones. This type of call is increasiningly frustrating for home phone owners like myself who are constantly bombarded with unwanted unsolicited and unrequited/unrequested calls like this. BT is largely to blame for the abuse of telephone calls as it introduced the initial 147/1471 method some years back at the digital telephone exchange changeover at the request of businesses who wanted to make use of cold-calling practices via the phone. Since then unscrupulous bona fide companies and foreign interests have taken advantage. Many companies are resorting to criminal activities to sell their products too. This has opened a floodgate for suspicious calls and scams from unregistered and unavailable numbers being illegally used and many of these calls are actually being made from outside the UK and are often untraceable. The government should put a stop to this type of calling by removing 147/1471 from the exchange systems as a first step in combatting criminal telephone behaviours.

Had a call from this number who said they were a survey company wanting to ask about about my bank(Nat West). I stated quite obviously, that I did not give any information out to cold callers about my bank or any other financial institutions I dealt with. The lady said OK and rang off. This number has now gone on to my blocked call list.

Nothing to do with 147/1471.  They buy your number from many different companies who produce databases from other company records.

2nd text message on my mobile saying i missed a call from them.  Claims they're O2 and i should dial 901 and press a few keys to stop the messages.  my phone shows no missed calls from that number.  checked here and promptly barred the number.

all sorts of different calls, but now don't answer any numbers I don't know then look them up on google and most if not all are scam callers wanting your details. They are very persistent though, but don't give in that's what they want you to do, you then get to know the number if you have a telephone showing who is calling.

Got a call from this number last week, was told by a well spoked woman that it was a call regarding feedback on service provided by my bank... think it was the RBS.  When asked how long it would take, 15-20 minutes which in that instance I couldn't manage.  It has rung again several times and I let it go to the answering machine.  Another reason why I should get rid of my landline.  So many nuisance calls, only thing my sisters, one in the States, use it regularly...
