Doing a survey as to why people are leaving them. Maybe because they expect people to confirm withdrawal transactions over the phone? Like the 3 year old said: "STRANGER DANGER!"- Caller: Nationwide Building Societ

- K| 1 replyHad this number phone 5 times within 2 days last week. Eventually I picked up and they asked for my mother, when I asked what it was concerning they said they were phoning from The Daily Telegraph and needed to ask her a few questions. I told them not to phone back as she wouldn't be interested.
They called back twice today, but only let it ring 3 times each so I couldn't actually get to the phone. After reading everyone else saying it was a 'bank' they were claiming to phone from, I am thoroughly confused as to who they are! - David replies to KIf you see the reply directly above yours, you'll see who they are. The only slight error is that they aren't telemarketers. They're a market research company. They will be contracted by other companies to conduct research on their behalf.
- BULLDOGTHIS No CONTINUOUSLY CALLS THEN HANGS UP
- Caller: NOT KNOWN
- Mr Angry of BucksWoman, who appeared to calling from a call centre, although I think it may have been taped background noise. Said she was calling on behalf of the RBS to undertake a survey about our recent visit. Haven't been to the bamk for over 6 months. Ended up putting the phone down after giving her a 'mouthful' SHe called at 19:40. Made the wife miss Corrie. Now I get the gyp and have to watch it on plus 1 now. Deep joy not. These callers are pests and should get a life and a proper job although not neccessarily in that order.
THere got that off my chest and feel better hahaha,
If they call you, tell them how upset they made me as well as you. Thank you.- Caller: 'A research company'

- PlummerRecieved a call from this number today saying that they were calling from Natwest, and would like me to take part in a survey. They then asked a few more personal questions to confirm who I was. I prefer to give them a lot of lies at this point and see where that gets them to which they just carried on asking the questions. They shortly received the dial tone after this! Not interested! Sounds like they could be either working on behalf of some banks or just absolute scammers to which I just don`t have time for either!
- Caller: Natwest
- nightnurseJust had a call from this number..a very polite sounding young lad asking to speak to"my name" about my bank..I asked him twice what the call was about and accidently said "why do you want to discuss my bank?"..he then said "Aaaah..so you are "...my name".!!! I then polightly told him that I have just finished a 12 hour shift and my bank details were none of his business but I sympathised him having a job like this cos I have a son his age..he quietly said good-bye..how on earth does he know my business though..it worries me!!!

- sammaxJust had another call from this number and once again as soon as answerphone kicks in they hang up, I have now, after reading the above comments, set this number as another spam, assigned it the spam tune on my handset so everybody knows to ignore it when it rings but does anyone else think that these spam calls, including calls identifed as 'International' and 'unavailable' by my (BT) handset, have increased again in the last couple of weeks? We had had a quiet period but suddenly we are getting rubbish phonecalls every day, sometimes 3-4 every day!! If I am near phone when it rings and am feeling bored/sick of calls etc I answer & mute call then leave phone face down so it costs them!! Some never call again after that treatment!!
- robwes111Just a call from this number wanting to talk about my wife's recent visit to a Natwest visit. My wife responded that she hadn't visited a branch and the promptly hung up.... very odd?
- Caller: Natwest
- allyJust got a call from them, same as most of you, reported to be from my bank. Knew my name and refused to say the bank name. I said I didn't want any calls and they said okay and hung up.
- TrevPeople should complain to BBC Watchdog and also to their MP to see if these numbers can be completely banned.
If callers want to ring you like they often do, then ONLY ordinary STD telephone numbers should be allowed to be used to ring you for ANY type of reason. This would mean that a firm can be traced much easier.
Also, the government should force ALL telephone suppliers (BT, Talk Talk etc) to be able to STOP those nasty callers from ringing us. For this to work, we just notify our phone supplier (either over the phone, in writing through the post, or going onto MY ACCOUNT with your supplier using the internet if you have one).
As an example:- If I am keep getting hassled with a company telephoning me quite often and I don't want to have anything to do with them, then I would just inform my supplier and tell them NOT to allow that number to contact me ever again and to allow them to 'FILTER' that number 'PERMANENTLY' so I will never hear from them again. (This would be no good if it is your bank as you may need them to ring you at some time so in that case, you would NOT tell your telephone supplier to filter that number and you would just have to ask the caller not to keep bothering you with perhaps promotions, or anything else unless it is really important).
Who calls me is an excellent website and very interesting to read peoples articles, but the government should step in more to put a complete 'STOP' from those annoying hidden companies from ring us.
The person who rang me actually did not wish to speak to me and said it was a survey, but asked for somebody else although, that person asked for does not even live here.- Caller: 01233 648537
